Edited the title cos...school is out. ===== Well, as most of you know, I'm going to the Academy of Art University to learn how to draw pretty pictures for games. This semester I'm taking Visual Development for Games 1, which means that each week I have to draw something. So, I figure I may as well share it with you guys! Also if you want to see what else I've been doing in school, you can check out my portfolio here: portfolio.academyart.edu/MPAULSON2/21039First up: Our first assignment for Vis Dev was to draw a "dangerous chair" circa 1850's Europe. Mine ended up looking like some sort of Lovecraftian monster, but the instructor liked it so nyeh! Photobucket's insta-resize made it look rather pixely, so next week I'll try to resize the images special for you guys.

That's great to see, really nice work.
Also the link gave me 50 viruses for some reason.

Update because I'm seriously sick of this stuff. My entire left arm is shot from all the drawing... 1/4 of the way done with my character sketches. I took a snapshot of my desktop so y'all can see how I work. Vids on one side, photostop on the other. a keen eye might notice Eva's making a cameo in my homework...it's a character sketch, so it totally counts! Also here's the final .gif for another class of mine: Computer Graphics for Animation. I'm really only taking the class for a run-down of Maya, but right now I'm stuck doing stuff in photoshop.

Hell year Wakfu. What's your name in-game?
Also, are you watching Fivel Goes West/An American Tail in the background? That's awesome.

Yes, I have both movies on one disc. I watched Fivel Goes West the other day because I do things backwards.
In game I'm Mali Darksidhe, Tivault, Vaughn Killgore, and Grimmgeist...usually the first one. I don't get on much lately since they said that the official release will pretty much screw over free players.

I liked Goes West the better.
Also is that to imply you won't play... at all after release, or wait till release and make a character?

they're going to wipe prior to release anyway, so everyone would be starting fresh one way or another. I do *want* to play, but at the moment I don't have much in disposable income, and all of the game's good points are restricted to paying players.
If I can make a few bucks between then and now I'll definitely be playing, though.

FINALLY FINISHED THE DAMN CHARACTER SKETCHES. Well, sort of. my hand started to crap out on me from the insane amount of drawing this required...coupled with a bad RA flare up and I was down by about four sketches with a hand that couldn't draw. So I put in some character sketches I'd done already for personal enjoyment. ITTOTALLYCOUNTSSHUTUP. Anyway, you can see the entire huge file in bitesize format in this one: Or, if you want to look at the characters individually, here's the MASSIVE full size image:

This week was 20 prop sketches as well as 3 refined character sketches. I have one character sketch left, but I'm done with the prop sketches! As usual, small one here: And forum breaker here:

Need inspiration for scissors? You could always go with the very first, ancient designs, which were just one length of metal rather than multiple interlocking pieces;

Actually the entire point was that they were two halves of interlocking scissors. If you look back at the character designs, the little boys are toting scissor bits around.
I can do google image search too you know.

I noticed they were half scissors I'm not blind. I just wasn't sure if that was the only kind they were allowed to be.
Just trying to be helpful, next time I think of something helpful to suggest I'll just stab myself with scissors instead.
