Dofun shook his head, the blindless now fading away. "Ah...Eh? What? What am I doing in front of this thing? What? Where did everyone go? Ah, there you are! Oh hey, it's you again!"
Dofun had little time to say much else once the enemies started flying towards him. A glint shone from the one of the eyeholes in his mask as he looked at the magma oozing out of a cat's eyes.
"Heh heh heh...Magma, it is."
Throwing his hammer at the electric cat, his body suddenly tensed up, veins appearing on the skin under his clothes and a small groan coming from the clown as he began to raise one foot. "Heeeeeeeeeee-YAH!" He slammed his foot down and pointed one open palm at the magma cat and one open palm in Alden's direction. A sudden and steady stream of magma shot out of each hand with the intent to melt anything in its way. While one stream was obviously meant to destroy the magma cat coming towards Dofun, the other was meant to neutralize the ice wave coming towards Alden.

"He isn't actually my guild master..." When Alden told him that now was the time to fight Jupiter nodded to him, said: "You take care of those cats, I'll go beat up that guy." then he quickly pointed towards Mikas and then left Alden behind to fend off the three cats and face their attacks all by himself. That should be no problem at all. No way someone wouldn't be able to handle a few magic cats by themselves... Alden apparently couldn't and Jupiter had already dashed onwards and wasn't even looking back anymore. As Jupiter got closer to Mikas he fixed his sunglasses, trying to appear as cool and as intimidating as possible and said: "I feel like breaking something... ... ...Your face." Jupiter might have been a bit outmatched here going against a guild master of a famous guild such as Atrum, but that didn't stop him, his blood was boiling now. Before he had been questioning himself a lot, 'why was he here?' but now he had given up on such thoughts, Jupiter was ready for some action. "Show me what you got!" Jupiter taunted his opponent as he opened his satchel and let loose his magic marbles once again and as they flew out of the bag, which was apparently larger than it looked as it could hold hundreds of these marbles, the marbles began to orbit Jupiter. The punk himself seemed to have a lot of magical reserves than expected; an average person would really struggle at keeping all these marbles flying like this, but Jupiter didn't seem to be exhausted at all. Then, with a quick hand motion, Jupiter launched several orbs towards Mikas at high speed, like bullets.

Elrond stood before a huge shrine inside the frozen building. The shrine was made up of a giant stone disc with tall sharp spikes along the outside, curving up at the top and touching each other like a deadly lotus flower. Sitting on a pedestal in the center of the stone disc was a glass container, and within the glass container was a small, glowing orb.
"What is this supposed to be?" asked Elrond. "You know as soon as my Guild defeats your Guild Master, they'll be coming in here next!"
"Like I care?" asked Sarah. "They're not getting past Master even if they wanted to. He'll make them all his own. And you'll unlock that--" she pointed towards the glowing orb in the glass case, "--for him to use."
Elrond, pulled by Sarah, stepped up onto the stone disc and walked over to get a better look of the orb. "You still haven't told me what this is, and why you needed me?"
"That," said Sarah, "is part of the sun."
Elrond looked at her bewildered. "The what? How? What kinda joke is this? Just let me go back to my guild!"
Sarah chuckled. "Your Guild has already been destroyed, Elrond. And soon, all the mages, and all other guilds in the world will be as well. Have you ever hold the old legends? About the end of the world? First, the world will be frozen, and then the fire will come and burn it all away. Only then will Mikas start anew with a perfect world."
Elrond clenched his teeth. "You...! What have you done with my Guild!?"
"It is not what we have done to you, its what you will do for us!" She pointed at the orb. "There. Now, can't you feel it? The magic resonating off of that sphere. We know what your ancestors were capable of, Elrond. We know of the magic that still flows through your veins. Now, touch it, and that will activate it!"
Elrond shook his head. "I don't know what you're talking about, and even if I did, I wouldn't do anything for you and your Guild!"
Sarah smirked. "Is that so? Fine then. I'll make you touch it!" Sarah raised her hands and suddenly, Elrond felt his hands lift up on their own and start reaching out for the sphere. "Have your forgotten? I have string magic. I can connect these strings with anything and move them at will."
"No!" grunted Elrond, trying to resist. "I won't do it!"
"YOU WILL!"
Elrond's hands were mere inches from the sphere.
---
Outside the frozen building, Mikas was battling the group of mages.
Amazingly, Dofun's ability to copy magic was enough to neutralize and destroy not only the ice Cheshire cat, but all the others as well. For that moment, Alden and Dofun were free to move and act as they wanted without anything in their ways.
Elsewhere, Jupiter had approached Mikas and was already sending a swarm of marbles in his direction.
Mikas smiled and the card he had placed face down before sprung up. "You've activated my trap card!" Coming out of the card just as the cats had, a giant metal wall appeared, towering dozens of feet into the air and blocking all of the marbles from reaching him. When the metal wall fell, Mikas had another card in his hand.
"So, you like marbles huh? Well, here's a game for you! I summon you, Hop Skotch!" From another card, a female woman appeared, although her outline looked strange and chalky, as if she were sketched onto a chalkboard or a sidewalk. She looked at Mikas, then turned her attention to Jupiter. Without hesitation, she pounced at him. From her stubby limbs, huge spikes appeared, ready to impale the man.
Mikas then looked over at Dofun. "As for you, that's some interesting magic you have there! I think I'll add you to my deck!" He drew a blank card from his pocket then through it like a knife straight at Dofun. With any luck, it would hit Dofun and suck him up into the card.
---
Still a bit of a ways away, a man was trudging down the frozen street towards the building where all the fighting as happening. He held onto a cane for support. He grunted and shook his head. "Looks like things aren't going so well," said Samson.
---
Still further away, all the way back at Renascence Guild, Atrum was in a bad state. Qi had summoned Snake, and not only that, but behind the wall, Pollux was using magic to affect the snow under her feet. She tried reaching towards Qi, but as she did, felt a weakness go through her body, so she stepped back.
There was only one thing she could do to get away from the ice spikes forming at her feet, but that meant letting her guard down and letting Qi get away. She frowned and closed her eyes. The wall around her vanished, and with that magic gone, Atrum teleported out of the way just before the ice spikes maimed her. She appeared a few feet behind Pollux and Astral Lance.
"Well, I wasn't expecting this," she said. "Qi, what a fortunate time for you to suddenly gain some bravery. If it wasn't for that Snake, master would have you now. There is something you do not know, however. Master told me that in the case where I wasn't able to get you back to him, the I should kill you. Very well, so be it. I'll have to use that magic. and destroy this entire place."
Atrum raised both her hands, her fingers arched in their direction, and an eerie black tendrils began curving around her fingers and traveling down her arms. However, less than a second later, she lowered her hands as her face went from nonchalant to surprise. "Well, perhaps not. Master is calling."
Atrum took a step back. "Lucky mages, you are. Oh well, it matters not to me. I didn't really want to kill you, anyway. It seems something more important has happened. The sun magic has been activated by your Guild Master. Farewell."
And Atrum was gone.
"Whaaaaaaaat?" asked Astral Lance in an elongated voice. "We were so close! Damn it! Oh well, at least the girl seems safe. But did you hear that? Sun magic? What is that supposed to mean? I recognize this magic in the air as the same that happened a long time ago, when Fable vanished off the face of the earth. Wait a minute..."
Astral Lance rubbed his chin. "It's coming back now. When we were part of the Oracion Seis, when we teamed up with Fable, we were called to go and stop some guy from stealing the power of the sun itself and destroy the world. Of course, I don't know what happened after that. Some kind of magic that teleported us in time, most likely from your brother. But what was the name of that man who we we were supposed to defeat? The man who was going to steal the sun...?"
Astral Lance raised a finger as he remembered. "Oh, that's right. Samson!"

Snake covered Qi with her body in an attempt to shield the summoner from whatever attack Atrum wanted to unleash on them. Pollux himself whipped his staff forward to bring about ice magic. But then nothing happened.
Qi knew she was nothing special, which made her think that Atrum would have easily and still likely would seek her and her friends out for her master's "collection," just for the sake of capturing mages. The summoner regretted not taking Atrum more seriously the first day she met her. She felt relief for the time being but she knew she wouldn't be safe for long. At least, it appeared, Pollux and Astral Lance were on her side.
Listening to Astral Lance, she couldn't help but notice Pollux seemed greatly disturbed by what he was saying. A man who was going to steal the very sun?
"Samson?" Snake asked in horror. "No! That man was just here earlier!"
Then, suddenly, Snake vanished around Qi as a new presence filtered into their presence.
Qi felt like her brain was rubbing against concrete as a noise filled her head. This was a different feeling than when she summoned Snake and Horse. This was something new. Something was draining her magic, using it to break its way into their dimension. It was the fourth time she summoned something that day, three broke her limit even so.
Kneeling on the ground in weakness, she looked up to see a bright golden light appear next to her. It was a man, as tall as Pollux and Astral Lance. Messy brown hair and spiky sideburns gave him a wild look. His clothes appeared to be worn by dirt and weather and looked suitable for hiking or mountain climbing.
Qi couldn't help but notice his tail, the same color as his hair, swishing behind his back. So this really was the summon she, John and Alden found in that village. This was what he really looked like, in his true form, a powerful and capable spirit.
Then Janus fell over flat on his face.
"Ugh... still haven't recovered, oo-kee. I'm going to need a lot more sleep I think..."
"Janus," Pollux nearly laughed. "I see you're doing well."
Looking up from the snow, Janus's face was bright red from what appeared to be another allergic reaction. Qi blinked, thinking she actually saw Pollux smile. She figured it was just her eyes playing tricks on her.
"It's Monkey. I'm not Janus, never was. Yo, Lance. What up, mah maaaannnnnkeyyy. I mean, man."
Waving his hand feebly in the air, the spirit seemed to be quite happy to see the two, as though they were childhood friends.
"What are you doing here?" Qi asked in frustration. Monkey seemed quite confused at this question.
"Wait, don't you know that...?" he asked, glancing at Pollux. "Oh, sorry, Master. I'll inform you later. Big kids need to talk. I'll get up a contract with you soon. I promise. Just stick tight. Oo-kee?"
Sitting up in a cross-legged position next to Qi, Monkey closed his eyes and recalled what he knew.
"You guys are totally right. The other spirits told me everything just now. Xing Qi Ruby was the only mage who stayed behind. The rest of them followed Samson. From what we know, they're already at their goal. Whether Samson won or Atrum won, we lost, oo-kee."
"Dammit," Pollux griped. "When he was trying to save us, Castor must have sent Samson to the future too. We got lucky Astral Lance and I were sent together but Samson could have ended up years or decades before us. It's why we can't find Joan Ruby or any of the others. They probably don't exist in this plane of time yet. And now, they might not have a future to come to at all."
"Joan," Qi whispered. So it seemed there was a way of meeting her role model. But at what cost? It seemed whatever time traveling spell these people went under, it also had the effect of bringing a rotten person to their world.
The summoner remembered Snake's embarrassment when Samson called her out on not telling her everything. Qi felt a rare anger boiling inside her. This man tried to break her friendship with her and now he was going to lead her friends to something awful, perhaps to their deaths.
"Isn't there anything we can do?" she asked out of frustration. "You guys were the Oracion Seis! You have to be capable of something!"
Pollux looked away in what appeared to be embarrassment. Monkey too didn't seem too hopeful over their prospects either.
"I guess we might have to place our trust in your new friends, Master," he sighed, patting her on the back rather forcefully.

With the cats taken care of, Alden could go on the offensive. He saw that Jupiter and Dofun looked to be tied down at the moment with Mikas however, so he figured this was a good chance to go straight for Elrond. He noted the arrival of Samson, but he didn't let it stop him.
Taking off in a run, he aimed to just dash right past Mikas and avoid conflict with the fellow altogether. In his approach though, if only to distract him, Alden tossed his sword Mikas' way in a spinning fashion. If he pulled up a magic wall or some other form of protection, maybe that would give Alden the chance to slip past and head for where Elrond had been taken.

"Ooooh, cards! Are we going to play a game of magical poker? You know, i've played one of those before and - ACK!"
Dofun bended over backwards to barely dodge the card, which flew just centimeters above his torso. When the card was far behind the clown, he stood back up with a yell. "Hey! Don't think you can just add my like some cheap booster pack! This here clown is a collectible. I might not be able to copy object magic, but I still got a bit of magma in me. Ha!"
He tensed up his body and then made several stiff, quick, powerful kicks and punches in the direction of the card-wielder, sending rushing pillars and walls of lava his way, although they might not have been very tall or wide.

Jupiter watched as his marbles crashed in to the metal wall summoned by Mikas and they didn't do a dent on it, they were made out of glass after all. The wall disappeared on it's own pretty quickly however. "QUIT SUMMONING THESE THINGS AND FIGHT ME YOURSELF, DAMMIT!" Jupiter was clearly frustrated when Mikas summoned Hop Skotch. The punk's eye was twitching like crazy and it was easy to tell even with the thick sunglasses on his face. As Hop Skotch drew close most of Jupiter's marbles started moving at high speeds towards her and once it would seem they were about to hit the marbles spread out and flew past the chalkboard lady and instead were aimed at Mikas. This time the marbles flew in unpredictable patterns and the same steel wall from before wouldn't be enough to block all of them. While the previous attacks were like bullets shot from a gun these were more like flurry of fierce punches and as the punk had earlier said, most of them were aimed at Mikas' face. The attack would hit shortly after Alden's thrown sword and Dofun's pillars and walls of lava. Jupiter suffered from tunnel vision and was too focused on master Mikas and not enough on Hop Skotch and only a split second before he was about to get impaled did the punk attempt to dodge and thus did end up with a hole on himself. Luckily it didn't hit any vital organs so Jupiter probably wasn't going to die there, but it sure hurt him a lot and it was visible on his face as he winced in pain.
"Crap!"
Now finally did the punk pay attention to Hop Skotch and was going to attack her; there was nothing magical about it though, he just punched her over and over again.

Mikas frowned as the card barely missed Dofun. He reached in his pocket to grab another blank card, but before he could, he was suddenly overwhelmed.
First was Alden, who appeared to be running towards the huge buildings where Elrond and Sarah were, and he threw a sword in his direction. Unfortunately, Mikas couldn't summon another wall, because he could only summon something once per day, but that didn't mean he didn't have anything to block the attack.
From the cards in his hand he lifted on in the air. A bright light emerged from the card, projected onto the ground, and then a woman appeared with and Alden's sword pierced her stomach.
The woman was Sarah.
"Master!" choked Sarah, looking down in surprise at the sword. She touched the hilt but flinched in pain at even the slightest movement.
Mikas chuckled. "You couldn't stop these damn mages back at their guild, but at least you're good for something!"
Dofun had already launched an attack as well, this one the remaining mimic magic of the Cheshire cats. Magma! "Stop him, Sarah! I command you to!"
Sarah jumped in front of of Mikas, leaping in the air as the lava pillar slammed into her arms and legs. She landed on the ground screaming as the magic evaporated, but it left behind huge blackened spots on her arms and legs. There was no chance she would ever be able to stand or use her hands again.
But there was one mage left. Jupiter, regardless of Hop Skotch's attack, shot his marbles straight at Mikas. Mikas, who was laughing at his own fallen comrade, barely caught sight of the marbles. He quickly drew another card and summoned a mirror which would reflect the marbles back at Jupiter, but to Mikas' surprise and amazement, the marbles broke right through!
Like a hundred flurried punches, the marbles pelted Mikas straight in the face and all across his body. Struggling against the barrage of marbles, Mikas managed to draw a card and summon a vase of water which should have poured over his body and healed all the wounds, but the marbles broke the vase just as it was summoned and spilled the water all over the ground.
"NOOO!" shouted Mikas, but with one last punch from the torrent of marbles, Mikas flew through the air and landed flat on his face next to Sarah.
"M-master," muttered Sarah, barely conscious.
Mikas grunted, slamming his knuckles into the ground and slowly pushing himself up. Blood flowed off of his forehead and his face was big and puffy from purple and red bruises. "I've had enough of this! I did not make it this far to lose!"
Mikas got up on his feet and drew another card from his floating deck. He looked at it and grinned, but then his face froze in place. He then swayed for a second and fell backwards onto the frozen ground, out cold.
Mikas, Guild Master of Atrum, had been defeated.
"No, Master," muttered Sarah, pushing herself slowly and painfully onto her side.
"Congratulations," said a voice behind Dofun, Jupiter, Sarah, and Alden if he was still on the scene. If they turned, they would see Atrum, slowly walking towards them. "It seems Master wasn't much of a match for you after all." Atrum approached her fallen Guild Master and picked up one of the cards from his deck off of the ground and looked at it.
"Was this what you were going to use?" asked Atrum to the unconscious man. She then ripped the card in half. It was her card. "I don't think so."
She then turned to face Dofun and Jupiter. "You're part of Renascence, right? The girl called Qi survived. Don't worry, I'm not here to fight you. Now that Mikas is gone, my deal with him is over. He promised me he would help me find out more about who I am for as long as he stood. Well... he isn't standing anymore."
Atrum glanced down at Sarah. "You can leave too, if you want. Your card is right there in front of you. I know what you did earlier. You're still connected, aren't you? It seems fate has chosen you. You can either save this world, or destroy it now."
Sarah slowly reached out and grabbed her card. There, her name was printed with a picture of herself smiling. Tears started welling up in her eyes, but she didn't take any action.
Atrum looked back at Dofun and Jupiter. "As for you guys, maybe you should join your friend in that building. I sense something interesting about to happen." She looked towards the building which was slowly began to glow brighter and brighter. Already, the ice on the doors and walls was beginning to melt...
---
Inside the building, something very peculiar had happened. After Elrond had touched the small, glowing orb, it suddenly vanished, entering into Erlond's body and causing his skin to change into an orange/yellow mix, like a living star. Elrond's breathing was slow as he examined his glowing skin, feeling the magic rush through him.
"What is this," he muttered. "Why?" He turned to Sarah, but she was gone. Instead, in her place, was Samson. "Who are you!?"
Samson smiled. "I am Samson." He grabbed Elrond's wrist and immediately Elrond felt his magic start to drain out and into Samson. "I thank you for activating the sun magic. Now that you have, I'll be taking it. It belongs to me."
Elrond yelled out as the last bit of magic was sucked out of his body. He fell to his knees, gasping for air. "What are you planning?" he asked.
Samson smiled. "Over a hundred years ago, the Guild of your ancestor once opposed me at this very spot. I had just attained the magic of the sun, but before I could use it, before I could destroy this planet, a certain mage stopped me. I woke up 70 years later, weak, powerless. I journeyed back to his place and found the sun magic, still sitting here and waiting for me in this city frozen in time, but I could not grasp it. It could only be activated by someone like you, someone who has the magic to activate things, to change things, at the lowest levels. And so I searched for a descendent of that man, Validus Vir, and finally, I found him."
Samson raised a hand and a small fireball floated above his palm. "And now, I have what is rightfully mine! It has been a century, but finally, I can use it to my pleasing! Of course, I had to use your own Guild to help me take out that pesky Atrum Guild who was trying to steal this magic as well, and I think they did just that. Nothing can stop me now. Don't you see? This world is mine!"
---
At Renascence, Astral Lance was surprised to see Janus suddenly appear! "You! It's been a long time since I've worked at your side! You double crosser! Or... are you? Eh, I could never figure out what side you were really on, to be honest."
There were more important things to think about anyway. In the distance, everyone could see a bright light forming over the far away mountains. "It's started. Even if I used my Astral form and turned into lightning, I wouldn't make it in time to do anything."
Astral Lance sat down, crossing his legs and arms. "It's as Janus says. At this point, even though I hate to say it, we'll have to trust Fab-- I mean, Renascence. That's our only hope now."

"Nothing can stop me now. Don't you see? This world is mine!"
"Not yet..."
Entering into the holding place of the ancient magic, Alden stood opposed to the thief that was busy threatening Elrond and the world. He didn't just madly charge at Samson, he hoped there was an easier way to settle thing. That is, he was obliged to seek out the peaceful solution first, at least.
"I'll give you the chance to surrender, now. Heck, I reckon we'll let you go if you don't cause any more trouble."
With that he reached his hand a bit above his head, open in the direction from which he had entered. A moment later, and his sword crashed through the wall, spinning as it went to return to his hand. Catching it without looking, he brought it forward and held it out to his side.
"It would be easier for everyone that way, at least."

Determining there was nothing else they could do, the group decided to head back to the guild house. Qi found it odd to be in the presence of three of Oracion Seis, especially since they were talking so casually. Pollux explained that Atrum's illusion only lasted for as long as she could sustain it. Through fatigue or choice, the ice covering the guild was already gone.
He also explained that he was the one who gave Qi Janus's key.
"It's Key, not Janus," Monkey initially corrected. "I mean, Monkey. It's Monkey's key. Ookee?"
Unlike the spirit, Qi was devastated by the revelation. Understandably, she complained that Pollux should have given it to her directly, so that John wouldn't have left and Alden and she wouldn't have been put in danger. But Janus was still overflowing with Asmoday's magic that he wouldn't listen to reason and ended up siding with Mikas, thinking it was what his Master would have wanted him to do. Pollux could only trust that Renascence would subdue him on their own, and seeing that Qi was the only rational summoner he could find, he gave the key to her.
"What kind of mage was Asmoday that her magic would have influence even now? Janus..."
"Monkey."
"Monkey was in this dimension for 100 years. I can't keep a summon here for more than a few hours on a good day."
"She's unlike one you'd ever know. Her magic still persists today in many forms," Pollux said, glancing back at the mountains at the glowing light. "I used to take for granted that she'd always be here. I might not want to see her now but I still wish I knew where she was."
With his head held low, Monkey didn't seem to like hearing about Asmoday. Understandably, he didn't have a very good relationship with her. Astral Lance was right; he was never on anyone's side. His heart was with Fable, but he belonged to Asmoday.
The spirit blinked, getting a whiff of something when they walked inside the guild.
"Ookee! It's here! A key!"
"A what?" Qi asked, clutching onto Monkey's shoulders. Too weak to walk, she had to rely on the summon to escort her.
Monkey brought her to the guild master's office. He looked down between the floorboards. His nose twitched furiously.
"My nose might not be as good as Dog's but I can smell a Key nearby!"
Lifting up the boards, he presented the golden key to her that was hidden understand. It was like the others, golden though decorated uniquely with feather etchings.
"This is part of the set of Years!" Qi exclaimed kneeling on the floor. "This one is... yes, it's the Year of the-"
"Don't say her name!"
Eyebrows furrowed, she blinked at Monkey, whose tail had stuck out straight in fear. He shook his gloved hands in front of her as he knelt next to her.
"If the spirit I know hasn't changed in the past 100 years, she doesn't like being called by her real name. Call her... the Phoenix. Mercury the Phoenix."
"Phoenix," Qi repeated with a tiny giggle, looking at the symbol on the key. Suddenly, she became lightheaded and flushed. Her face felt extremely hot, uncomfortably so. Like Monkey beforehand, a spirit was trying to force its way into their world, but she didn't have enough magic for it to steal to make it through.
"Now you've made her mad, Master," Monkey said with a brief smirk.
Master, it was what Atrum called her guild master. Kneeling there in her own guild master's office, she wasn't sure she wanted to be called that title anymore. It didn't feel right.
"Enough fooling around," Pollux called out, peering out the window at the mountains far away, "conserve your strength. If your friends are anything like you, we'll be in great danger soon."
"My friends aren't like me," Qi retorted. "They're much stronger. I'm not sure if they can stop Samson or Atrum but they're much better than I am at what they do. The odds might be against them but I think they can do it."

"Magic of the sun, eh...?"
Dofun came skipping into the scene not long after Alden did, soon coming up to his side. He held his hammer in one hand, the other making some sort of odd movements. He tilted his head to the side, a touch of curiosity in his voice.
"Now i've never heard of sun magic before...It must be quite the power." He began to spin his hammer around in his hand. "It'd be a shame if a magic trick like that fell into your hands! We're not going to let you spoil the big, grand show that is life, now are we?!
His hammer was spinning quickly now, almost a blur. Traces of fire similar to the one in Samson's hand began to surround Dofun's free hand. "Like Alden said: Surrender now and we'll let you live! You seemed like a nice guy before, but that won't stop us from beating you! Now let go of our guild master!"
Swinging his arm forward, he threw his hammer at Samson in an attempt to pulverize him with a smash.

"Who's the man?!" Jupiter was overjoyed as his attack took out master Mikas. He had done it. He had won and even the moderately large bleeding hole in his stomach didn't seem to bother him as he celebrated. Only one thing was certain; he was the man. "Now that I beat the guild master I will become the next guild master." And so Jupiter's thoughts started to drift; he began to imagine what his life as the next guild master of Atrum would be like. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ In his mind Jupiter saw himself sitting on a golden throne in a room filled with bunch of mages, all who seemed to lack any notable features, even proper faces, sitting around a magnificent table. Unlike everyone else, Jupiter's appearance was very detailed; as the new guild master Jupiter's jacket was covered in diamonds, his scarf was made of the finest silk money can buy, his belt buckle was actually made out of gold and even the man himself looked a lot more handsome than he did in real life. "O great master Jupiter, I want to inform you that we have completed all the missions in the country. It's all thanks to your amazing leadership." One of the mages, with very undetailed appearance, sitting around the table said. It was truly impossible to tell anything about this person, even what their gender was supposed to be. "Good." Master Jupiter responded, looking very pleased at what his great guild had achieved. "Glorious master Jupiter. What shall we do with all the rewards we have received?" Another person in the room asked. "Hmm..." Master Jupiter looked very focused for a moment and then said: "We'll buy everything." Suddenly everyone in the room furiously applauded master Jupiter for his genius. "But not today. I'm going to spend some time with my concubines right now." And with that master Jupiter stood up and then left the room. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "I don't think that it quite works like that... Even if I became a guild master I doubt it would be like that." Jupiter finally quit daydreaming. "And besides what the hell are concubines anyway?" Only now did the punk's brain properly register what Atrum had said earlier, at least some of it. And so Jupiter started walking forward, though didn't get too far as he stopped to look at Sarah and her horrible wounds. Jupiter might have been a tough guy, but he couldn't just leave a stranger to die. "This might hurt a little, but it's better than to just leave it there. You'll die otherwise." Jupiter said as he pulled Alden's sword out of Sarah, just a moment before Alden recalled it and it started to float. "Oh shit." Jupiter said as he really saw how severe Sarah's wounds were, the delinquent's wound were nothing compared to this. Jupiter was an expert when it came to causing wounds, not when it came to treating them. "I guess, I'm supposed to stop the bleeding with something." The only thing that came to his mind was to use his scarf as an emergency bandage and even though he wasn't happy to do so Jupiter did tie his scarf around Sarah. He couldn't do anything to the burn wounds though. Jupiter thought about leaving Sarah to Atrum, but he wasn't very trusting to strangers. Sure he had met Atrum earlier and Sarah too actually, but he didn't remember much about it. Without saying anything Jupiter lifted Sarah to his shoulder and walked onward to see what was going on with Samson and his comrades, it's not like he could find a doctor or a healer anywhere near here anyway so just bringing the girl along was probably his best option.
During all of this Jupiter wouldn't listen if Sarah didn't want to be saved, only if she could either overpower Jupiter or somehow prove that she was fine, would the punk leave her alone. As Jupiter entered the building late he missed on most of what happened there, but he could feel the tension in the air. "So, uh... Guys... what's going on here?"

"L-let me go!" yelled Sarah, struggling against Jupiter, but she didn't have the strength to pull herself free. She barely had the strength to stay conscious. She watched as her old Master vanished behind the doors as they entered the main building.
Here, she saw Samson.
He was standing with his arms crossed facing the group of mages that had arrived. His skin was glowing yellow and orange, as if it was the surface of the sun. Anyone in the room could feel the heat radiating off of his body.
He first answered Alden's request for a peaceful ending. He grabbed Elrond by the wrist and tossed him over at Alden's feet. "You want your Guild Master back? Then take him! I no longer require his services. Not that it matters. You will all soon see what my power truly is, for what is stronger than the sun itself?"
Dofun attacked next swinging his hammer and ready to smash Samson, but it didn't work. Samson blocked the blow with the back of his hand with enough strength to rebound the hammer and send it and Dofun skidding backwards. Dofun would notice that his hammer was glowing bright orange now from Samson's heat.
"Stay back, you mages. Do not try to stop me now!"
Jupiter didn't seem to realize what exactly was going on, and Samson liked it that way. "All of you, prepare yourselves! You will be the first to see the power of the sun magic! Locked away for hundreds of years, I have revived it, and it is all thanks to you!"
Suddenly, Samson's body began expanding, bubbling up as sun flares shot from his body until he was so large he broke free from the building, sending down a shower of stone bricks, ice, and all kinds of other debris. With a swing of his arm, another half of the building flew hundreds of feet into the air, crashing into a nearby forest.
Samson raised one arm high into the air, and the dark clouds above split open, sending sunshine down upon Samson which he absorbed to further increase his power. "What can you mages do now!?"
Down on the ground, Elrond stood up. His magic was low, and his stamina was almost gone, but he knew he couldn't just let this happen. "You guys," said Elrond. "Thanks. You made it all the way here just to save me, and I couldn't do anything this whole time. I'm the Guild Master! I can't be the weakling! Let me show you my ancestor's magic, ya big sun guy!"
Elrond slammed his hands against the ground and from the earth grew huge roots made completely out of stone, wrapping around Samson's legs and holding him in place. He also froze all the falling debris and sent them flying against Samson like bullets and protecting his Guild mates. "Earth Magic!"
Samson as he tried to pull his legs free. "Do you truly think this will hold back the sun!? Never! The earth will be encompassed by my power!"
Elrond's stone binds began cracking as light rays shot through them, but it was still holding.
Elrond collapsed onto his knees, trying to maintain the magic, but he was obviously struggling. "I won't let you win!"
All the time, Sarah watched upon Jupiter's shoulder. She watched as Elrond fought with all his might. She remembered her own Master. She remembered Mikas. Is this what a real Guild Master was like? All her life, she had grown up with Mikas, captured in a card as a young child and raised in his Guild. She had grown used to his beatings and his commands. She had grown accustomed to the heavy work and the abuse. She had forgotten what it truly meant to have a real Guild Master. Or maybe, she never knew.
But then, after watching what this Guild was doing together, she grew courage.
Atrum appeared, casually stepping into the collapsing building and looking around. She paused next to Jupiter and looked at Sarah. "That Chesire cat knew it," she said. "It knew that the one named Alden would bring destruction to the world. That is what it told me when I went to pick it up from Renascence so long ago. But, I think it was mistaken. You can change that fate, Sarah. The choice is in your hands."
Sarah felt her card in her hand. She looked at her smiling face. It was such a fake smile and it disgusted her. She took a deep breath and ripped the card in half, letting go of the pieces. They blew through the air, never to be seen again. She was freed from Mikas' magic.
Atrum smiled. "That's an interesting choice."
Sarah wiggled around a little. "Uhm, what was your name? Jupiter? Please, let me down. I need to do one more thing."
Dropping free from Jupiter's grip, Sarah, who could barely stand at this point, called out to one of the mages. "Alden! You... don't possess any magic. But the items you hold do. Tell me, do you have something that could possibly capture Samson's magic? If we could capture the magic, he would be rendered useless!"
Sarah pointed up at the huge hulking creature. "Of course, you'll have to reach the sun sphere, which is located in its chest. That won't be an easy task, but I... I can help with that."
Sarah lifted a finger and twitched it. Alden should feel a small tug in the back of his leg. "I don't know if you remember, but a long time ago, I attached a magic string to you, Alden, and it has remained. With this, I could propel you all the way up there, and you can take his magic."
Sarah called over all the other mages as well, except for Elrond who continued to try and hold Samson in place. "But we'll need to work together. Pelt him with everything you've got! Don't hold anything back! If we can keep him still, and his attention on us, then... we can stop him and your Guild can go back home."
Tears appeared in Sarah's eyes. "I never knew what a real Guild was, but now.. that I do.. I can't let it die. Let's stop him!"

Far away, at Renascence Guild, Astral Lance watched as Qi and Pollux went inside the Guild. He didn't really feel like going along. He'd been in the Guild just a little while ago, and didn't find anything interesting, and especially no hint in finding Asmoday.
So he sat outside and watched the mountains. The clouds were departing and the sun was starting to shine.
"Wish it would rain," muttered Astral Lance, stirring a finger around in the air. As he did, a thundercloud appeared overhead and it started to drizzle.

Elrond was back, well that was a start.
"Tell me, do you have something that could possibly capture Samson's magic? If we could capture the magic, he would be rendered useless!"
Setting down his sword and shield without wording a response, Alden pulled from a strap across his back, an odd-looking contraption that a contemporary individual would recognize as a rifle. A rather old rifle, single shot, but it was very long and chances are it could shoot quite accurately. Holding it with one hand and resting the weapon on a shoulder, he listened to hear what the rest of her plan was.
"I don't know if you remember, but a long time ago, I attached a magic string to you, Alden, and it has remained. With this, I could propel you all the way up there, and you can take his magic."
Feeling his leg jerk back, the mage hunter nearly lost his balance.
"Oh, so that's what that was. Listen, I'll do whatever you need me to, but it's not permanent. It'll only last a few minutes, and if he doesn't have some sort of object that he's fond of with him, it won't work at all."
He wasn't sure if this plan would work, but he'd give it a try at least, before he ran away. He would need to make a shot though, as he understood it, perhaps a difficult shot. In preparation, he took of his helmet and set it on the ground, his messy brown hair hanging loose now. As well, in one sweeping motion, he pulled off his traveler's cloak and let it fall to the ground next to his helmet. The whole process stirred up quite a bit of dust in a cloud about him from his clothes, but he didn't have anything weighing him down or hindering his movement. Just his pants and sweater now, and there could be seen a bandolier across his chest with an array of bullets with what looked like little glass bottles on the end.
Chewing on a toothpick, he took a bullet from the bandolier, tapped it against the barrel of his rifle and shook it up. Holding it up to see, the little glass container at the tip of the bullet began to glow bright blue from the substance inside; liquefied lacrima, pure magic given form. Drawing the bolt back on his rifle, he put the bullet in the breech and chambered it.
"One shot. Unless you can... I dunno, hold me up there for awhile, that's all I can manage. One shot."
Shifting the toothpick to the other side of his mouth, he held the rifle at the ready and squinted up at the gleaming, glowing target. Almost like hitting the sun. As he stood, a faint blue light might be noticed coming from the barrel of the rifle, getting brighter by the moment.

Carried toward the windows, Qi witnessed a great spectacle of light and magic in the mountains. She wondered if she should run or evacuate the area. But she quickly reminded herself that her friends were likely risking their lives to save her and everyone else.
Looking up, she noticed she wasn't the only one who was worried.
"Castor," Pollux muttered as his face fell in devastation. Adjusting his glasses on his face, he pushed Monkey aside and raced out of the guild. He struck his staff onto the ground while shouting, his voice faltering in desperation.
"Ice-Make: Steed!"
A horse of ice emerged from the ground. Pollux jumped onto it and lashed his staff out in front of him, speeding down the hillside and clearing trees and rock with his ice magic
"Wait!" Qi called out, but by the time she and Monkey were outside, Pollux was already gone. The small mage looked to Astral Lance in surprise, seeing the tiny rain cloud formed over his head.
