Hulk kicks ass, but no one beats RDJ's Iron Man for me. (Although spiderman will always be my number 1 super hero)

Spoiler free review: The Incredible Hulk has always been my second favorite of the Marvel bunch (the first being Spidey for me as well). I really feel bad about how I thought Ruffalo was going to be a bad stand in for Norton. Honestly, Ruffalo is the best Bruce Banner I've seen yet. He was quiet, he was nerdy, I loved the way he and Tony Stark interacted, it was so great oh my gosh run on sentence I'm so sorry it was so clear how much care was put into this movie. It wasn't a perfect movie, but it was a perfect superhero movie. It had just enough stuff for the fans to go ga ga over but the perfect amount to not confuse newcomers. It. Was. So. Perfect. I can't wait to see this again in theaters and likely to purchase it on DVD. I highly recommend seeing this on the big screen.

I saw it twice, so in my honest opinion, it was perfect. I know a lot of people complain that the plot was weak, but I think the simplicity of it made it work so well. It was believable. It did not need an over complicated plot to work. With a movie like Avengers, you have to consider the people who are fans of the movies as well as the comics. So if you over complicate things, it may turn fans off.
Joss Whedon is perhaps the only person alive that could have done this movie any justice. He was the perfect choice. He gave each character enough screen time to allow them to shine in there own way. Obviously characters like Thor and Black Widow have a completely different power set, but Whedon gives Black Widow her due which makes the audience understand why she is needed (other than the fact that Scarlet Johannson has an amazing ass).
I was happy about the dynamic relationship between Captain America, Iron Man, and Thor as these three naturally compete for who should lead. I was worried if Chris Evans and Chris Hemsworth could share the screen with Robert Downey Jr. but that fear went away immediately.
Oh, I am not even going to go into how awesome the Hulk was. Anyone who saw the movie knows that. He stole the film. So many memorable scenes. His "fight" with Loki, sucker punching Thor, and punching that alien thing. I agree that Mark Ruffalo has been the best Bruce Banner. I love Ed Norton, but I never believed his Bruce Banner. With Ruffalo, I had a sense of paranoia as well as genius. It is a shame he will not get his own movie, but I do not think it is necessary. Although, after the Hulk's performance in Avengers, I think audiences may want to see him on the big screen soon, so it may make more money than the last one.
My one complaint is that they never said "AVENGERS ASSEMBLE." I know it is incredibly cheesy, but still, as a long time fan, come on.
Also, if anyone saw the mid credits scene, then OMG. I already have a brief ideas of how Avengers 2 can go.

Pfff best ass goes to Chris Evans, hands down. Johannson is a very close second though. I agree that Mark Ruffalo has been the best Bruce Banner. Apparently Ruffalo, after his stunning performance, has been signed for a 6 movie deal with Marvel. The Avengers is only supposed to be a trilogy. 2+2=... ==== And CJ: I CRIED.

Well, I read where Kevin Feige has said that there is no immediate plans for a "Hulk" movie in the near future, but I seriously hope that after the success of Avengers, that changes. I would love for them to continue Banner's story and possibly where either the Avengers left off or where the Incredible Hulk left off.
I know Iron Man 3 is scheduled for May 2013, Thor 2 for November 2013, and Captain America 2 for April 2014. Iron Man 3 is supposed to deal with the Extremis Project and I have already read where Captain America 2 takes place after the Avengers, though I hope there are flashback sequences that features Bucky and the rest of the Howling Commandos. No idea what is supposed to happen in Thor 2.
I really do not want Samuel Jackson to cameo in any more movies. He has four more pictures left on his deal, so assuming he appears in Avengers 2 and possibly Avengers 3, that leaves two movies. I am hoping for a Nick Fury or SHIELD movie. The SHIELD movie can even support Hawkeye and Black Widow, as I am not sure those two can carry a film together, even after the Avengers.
For Avengers 2, they need to introduce Hank Pym and Janet Van Dyne, they do not have to "suit up" but they need to be there. There can be a subplot that deals with their "issues" as well as Pym's efforts to create Ultron (and possibly Vision) to set up Avengers 3. As for the main plot for Avengers 2, the bad guy (you know who) can declare war on Asgard for a certain item that currently sits in the treasure vault (it does make an appearance in Thor). Of course, Avengers come together... That is the basics.

Damn Xero. Badass theories, and quite accurate from what I gather. I'm just simply going to take the movies as they come. But I'll probably be rewatching the Avengers this weekend. It deserves another paid ticket, I mean it's already broken basically every single box office record.... ever.

Well I saw the movie and did not care for it all that much, or at least not nearly as much as the ravenous hordes who have been raving about this movie as though it were the Second Coming of Christ. For various reasons I would rate this movie as a solid 7/10.

Haha yeah, I have to agree that it's certainly not perfect, but...maybe it's all the stress or something, but The Avengers is just the kind of movie I *need* to see some times. It is visually amazing and fun to watch, the actors are good, and it doesn't treat the audience like a bunch of prepubescent kids like certain other action movies...*coughtransformerscough*

So anyone who knows me knows I'm not the biggest fan of superhero stories. It's just that most of the time, the whole concept seems a little too unbelievable for me to suspend my disbelief enough. The Avengers was one of the only superhero movies I saw where I didn't have this problem. Not to say it wasn't unrealistic, for it was, but the story itself was good enough for me to not care. The Avengers, I think, is a movie that has a really simple, basic plot, but pads it out with exceptional writing and acting. The characters fit together so well, I was completely captivated during all their development scenes, and thankfully, there were a lot of those. Not only were those moments entertaining, but they all made sense given the characters and situation, and were, by far, the best point of the movie. Everything everyone else said applies as well. The Hulk was by far the best character in the movie, with a truly remarkable performance I don't think anyone can match, Robert Downey Jr's interactions with everyone were amazing, Thor (supposed to be pronounced with a hard T, by the way) was entertaining in all his scenes, Samuel L. Jackson's character was pretty cool, despite the ridiculous coat, and Scarlett Johansson and the other guy were really good as well. I'd argue that Captain America was kind of boring compared to the others, but that is sort of understandable given that the team did need a straight man and, well, his name is Captain America. I'd also like to give special mention to whoever played Loki as well. The nuances the actor gave him fit the character so well, I couldn't help but smile during most of his scenes. Of course, that should also probably be partially attributed to his awesome one-liners.
I didn't exactly know who any of these characters were, besides some basic knowledge of the Hulk and Iron Man, the first five minutes of the Captain America movie, and a book on Norse mythology I used to read all the time when I was a kid. Thankfully, the movie made it easy to pick up on details I may have missed, and didn't start out with a bunch of babble one would only understand if they read the comics, which I was really happy about. No doubt there were some things I completely missed, but it didn't affect my enjoyment of the film, so I don't really care all that much. In fact, it did make me interested in knowing more about these characters, so I'll probably check out some of the other movies.
Not to say that it didn't have its flaws, of course. Some parts were a little too silly for my liking, and it may have spent a little too much time on its fight scenes, especially when they were just mowing down a bunch of guys nobody cares about. The villains, besides Loki, were unforgivably one dimensional, and every antagonist acted like they just got out of mustache-twirling classes. But, hey, comic book movie, what can ya do? And while the silliness did make some moments fall a bit flat for me, it worked more often than not. The story didn't exactly have any important points or interesting messages, but, sometimes, a really well put together story can make up for that, and in this case, it did, though they'd be hard pressed to keep that up for a sequel. My expectations were completely shattered with this installment, though, so I have faith that whatever comes next will suitably mix up the formula.

I just saw it. I am not good at reviews, so i'll just say that it was good. It was very pretty, graphics-wise. I wasn't bothered by anything in the movie, no plotholes or awkward moments that I picked up on. Although it is supposed to be a great action movie (and it is), one of the greatest features of the movie was its humor. I kept on having a laugh with the movie, especially with Robert Downey Jr. It was a good movie. I liked it a lot.

Oh and by the by! Spider-man should be appearing in the next Avengers movie, or the one after that. They have already hyped it up to that point, and if Joss has anything more to do with it, I can only expect great things.

Spider-Man cannot be in Avengers. Marvel Studios does not own the film rights to Spider-Man, Sony does. So it cannot happen.
Although, today, Marvel did announce the official titles to the sequels of Thor and Captain America: Thor - The Dark World and Captain America - Winter Soldier. Also, Marvel announced a live action Guardians of the Galaxy movie.
