Even Jupiter was surprised at his own strength when he was easily able to throw Beauty so easily. Lifting things much bigger than him was quite normal activity to Jupiter these days but it shouldn't be this easy. After the initial surprise of his success Jupiter happily began to celebrate his achievement by happily flexing his muscles.
”Did I win?” Jupiter was not quite sure if that would be the end of the fight though soon afterwards Elrond busted in to the scene and also threw or at least attempted to throw Beauty around. Jupiter wasn't quite sure what was going on anymore.
----
Achlys' attempt to provoke Atre would prove to be unsuccessful since stirring up Atre would prove to be nearly impossible. ”Fighting is horrible. I would never do such things.”

Elrond's suspicions were dead on. Nothing was real. The chimera's appearance alone looked like something out of a storybook, even for their world. It was almost as if it had been hand drawn into their world. Its hair appeared as though it was drawn in by pencil etchings.
The creature sped after him and stopped, seeing Beauty thrown at it. Like with Qi, it threw its hand forward. As soon as the monstrous mage would have made impact and crushed the creature, she turned immediately to white dust.
As with Qi before her, Beauty was gone.
---
However, Alden would see something very different from the others.
When Beauty was "eliminated" by the chimera, he would experience an interruption in his vision. Suddenly, the world was became very bleak around him. All color left the place and everyone and everything around him became abstract, almost as if they were shoddy recreations of what should have been the world he was existing in.
In chimera's place was Briar, looking as white as a ghost. There was no color to him. In front of him was Beauty, likewise in that same state of being. Her beast form was gone and she seemed as calm and rational as she originally had been. The two appeared to be having some interaction, though neither of them spoke. They simply looked at each other in a time that seemed like a few seconds but as meaningful as an eternity. Finally, Briar cried out and threw his arms around Beauty. She sighed and brushed his head, letting out a tear or two herself. To their right appeared a door, emerging into their world.
Beauty grasped Briar's hand one last time before opening the door, stepping through the unknown void beyond and closing it behind her.
Briar stepped up directly in front of the mage hunter, appearing before him in what seemed like a second. He clutched onto his rabbit-like ears nervously, but stared directly at him, almost unnervingly.
"You're not letting me in, Alden," Briar said. "You're hiding something from me. I get it. We've all got secrets, but I need you to share your heart with me... I mean, if you want to leave this place that is... You can do that, right?"
He didn't bother to explain anything of what was happening. It was likely insulting the way he was speaking to him, almost as if Alden was a child.
---
In the others' perspective, the white eyed chimera rushed forward and stopped right in front of Alden. The mage hunter froze in place quite uncharacteristically as the creature brought its hand up above his head. Its fingers elongated, wrapping around his temples and past his ears. For some reason, the chimera was having a harder time freeing Alden from the nightmare than it had with Qi or Beauty.
Perhaps seeing this and believing it to be an attack, Achlys's voice suddenly sounded.
"My deemon son needs help torturing and killing the hoomans? He is so weak! Lady Corgi, go help my son eliminate the hooman mages! They can't win that easily! Don't let them win at all!"
"Woo!"
Cinder suddenly jumped down from the platform and landed rather harshly on the ground in front of Elrond, Miranda and Jupiter. Her glass slippers were nowhere to be seen. It wouldn't be hard to deduce that she had fallen to the same sort of spell as Dofun.
"Woo!" she said again, sticking her tongue out in a cute but crude smile.
Three giant corgis materialized from the ground. They were the size of horses and looked as cute as they were dangerous. Elrond, Miranda and Jupiter all had to contend with their own charging corgi. But if guild master remembered what Briar said, perhaps he could turn the attack against itself, knowing now that this all was a dream.
---
Achlys shook about in his chair in anger when Atre didn't fail to his trap.
"Sit on down and wait for your death then!" he shouted, standing up and actually going to push Atre into the comfortable throne. In an instant afterward, the ancient mage disappeared in a poof of black dust. He then instantly reappeared in front of Maisie, whose continued provoking comments were working well for her... at least in her strategy.
"Look, I'm at my wit's end here," he said, holding onto the sides of Dofun's mask tightly. "No one. I mean, not a single hooman here has shown such devotion to eradicating the other hoomans. Do yoou get how frustrating that is? If yoou want, we can cheat a bit. How about it? Yoou want to be my new son? Yoou can kill any of hoomans here however yoou want. Just tell me how and I'll make it happen!"
He came so close to her, he nearly pressed his face into hers.
"Pleeeeease? I'm begging yoou!"

"DID I ASK FOR YOUR OPINION?!"
A glass spike shot out of the ground, nearly impaling one of the closer audience members.
"This circus act is NOT interactive, you mangy little beasts! I am in the fancy chair! I am the ringmaster! I am in charge! Anyone who interrupts again will be escorted away from this plane of existence and into the afterlife! Do you understand?!"
He was still in his chair, but hopefully his voice had had the desired effect. It better; his already-dusty throat now felt like it could tear at any moment. He looked back at the dog.
"So. Ash, or Cindy, or whatever your name was - Ah ha, yes, Fireplace, that's what it was. So, F-Fireplace, what - cough - what, would you have me do? Hm? Why do I care about some furry little...Fireplace? Hm? What could you possibly...possibly..."
He dozed off a moment there, leaving the room in tense silence.
"...Uh...Uh, ah, ah, ah! Yes! Er, yes, uh, Fireplace, why do I care? Huh?"

Suddenly everything got weird and Briar was all spooky-like, and talking about being let into hearts and stuff, and Alden was thoroughly weirded out. He was pretty quickly able to tell that there was something akin to an overall illusion going on, and he wished for once that an enemy they fought didn't have to have mind-altering abilities. It was getting tiresome, to say the least.
"Not this time. Not even to save my life. Go help someone else."
Even if he wasn't seriously hurt (then again, in this state, was any of this even really happening?) he wouldn't have responded affirmatively towards Briar. He didn't know him on a personal level, and on a basic level he didn't really like him either. Thus, he wasn't about to let him delve into his mind, or his heart, or whatever it was that he wanted, even on a good day.
Right now though, he felt like many of his ribs at least were broken, and he wanted to be left alone.
---
"Anyone here, however I want?"
Maise remained standing in place, but leaned back with an uncertain, uncomfortable look when the warden moved so close to her. Holding onto her hat so that it didn't fall off at the angle she was leaning back, she tried to think of how to proceed.
"Hmmm... ok, how about starting with the Guild Master? I think seeing Elrond crushed by giant rock weapons would be an interesting, and fittingly appropriate death. A pair of giant hammers perhaps, or an oversized sword?"
Being one of the newer members, she didn't understand everyone in the guild as well as someone else might have, but based on what little experience she had she made the decision. If she was correct in her assumption, Elrond's ability to control and shape the earth would be helped if he was more or less handed some big stone weapons, already made for him.
At least, that was what she hoped. Either way, she played along with Achyls, all the while planning her final move.
"Would that be possible? I'm not as versed in the potential of demon powers, as you are."

Elrond had made it through the wall where Groundhorn and Stanely were and had connected them to the rest of the scene where Alden, Miranda and Jupiter stood with the chimera.
He formed the same words he had communicated to Alden to Groundhorn, but before he could do anything else, a giant corgi was summoned and charged him!
He had to remember, however, that this was just a dream. If that was so, if they were all caught up in one big dream, then that should mean that ANYONE can change the dream to fit their will.
Elrond suspected, however, that trying to change the dream in a big way on his own would be difficult. He'd have to mentally battle with Achlys over control. Instead, Elrond had a better idea.
Concentrating as hard as possible, Elrond imagined a huge dog bone appear on the ground, just the right size for the giant corgi, and perhaps enough to distract it so he could go and try to save Celeste and Fathom.
Concentrate, concentrate, concentrate. Dog bone. Dog bone. Dog bone.
---
Groundhorn had been surprised to see Elrond break through one of the walls. Looking through the opening, he could see the corgi's attacking, along with Alden and Miranda and Jupiter and the strange looking chimera.
"Trust him?" asked Groundhorn to himself. "Is this another trick?" He looked to Stanely. It was obvious Stanely was still being heavily affected by Achlys magic. A sudden idea came to mind.
Elrond was against one of the corgis, but two more were going for Miranda and Jupiter.
"Stanely!" yelled Groundhorn. "See that corgi?" He pointed to the one heading for Miranda. "Ride that one!"
He wasn't sure what this would accomplish, but he also knew Miranda wasn't a fighter. She would need all the help she could get.
And Miranda thought the same thing.

Jupiter was still uncertain whether he had won the fight between himself and Beauty but he did not have too much time to wonder about it as soon three large dogs were sent towards him, Elrond and Miranda, one for each.
”...”
Confident about his strength, due to wrestling with Beauty earlier, Jupiter was going to take on the corgi the same way he had dealt with his previous opponent and so if the dog would get close enough to Jupiter he would attempt to throw it similarly to how he had dealt with Beauty just a moment ago.
---
”I can't die... Dying would be horrible...” For once Atre found something actually horrible to be, well, horrible. Despite saying that he did not get off the chair Achlys had pushed him to, as he did not really feel threatened there or at least anymore threatened than anywhere else within this arena he could not escape.

The crowd went dead quiet, listening carefully to their Lord and Savior's instructions. When prompted if they understood, they all fell to their knees and began to bow repeatedly, lamenting their stupidity and ignorance.
Meanwhile, despite its obvious fear, the tiny pomerianian continued to bark at Dofun. Nearby, Sergeant Death actually shrunk in his cushion-y seat, visibly disgusted by the other canine's words.
"Forgive me, Lord Achlys," the most prominent cult member said after a grand display of bowing. "Your servant only is repeating the horrible things this pitiful creature is saying. It says that someone like yourself... such blasphemy it describes you as... should have nothing to do with such a young lady. It seems to think it really is a young woman named Cinder from a guild called Renascence. It must mean Renaissance, the stupid thing. Who would name their guild Renascence? This thing is truly dumb and ugly!"
The pomeranian actually jumped up and bit the man on the arm. He howled and shook his hand about, trying desperately to get the cute thing off him.
---
The facade faded as soon as Alden rejected Briar's offer. The demon's shoulders sagged as his usual composure took over.
"I forgot. You don't have magic. I'm sorry for being so rude. The others here... I can manipulate their magic in this dream to make it more comfortable for them to get out. The way in is easy, but to leave, you either have to use waking magic... or die."
Briar tugged on his rabbit-like ears in nervousness and tried not to look Alden straight in the eye like he had so easily been able to do before.
"I'm sorry, Alden. I'm going to have to force you out. This isn't going to feel very good... I think."
Without warning, Briar's hand was suddenly pressed onto Alden's face. He would feel an awful sensation, like his entire body was being compressed into a very small space and suddenly unraveled. It wasn't a painful feeling, but it was alarming. He would be aware of every single piece of him as it broke apart and came back together.
And then suddenly, the nightmare was over and he woke up.
He would find himself right where he had once been in the guild hall, though on the floor. The storm still raged outside, truly making it the darkest day they had in a long time. Looking around, he would see every member that had been in the hall at the time, asleep where they were.
"I'm not powerful enough to wake them up on my own, Beauty. The spell's far too strong."
"But you have to wake them up! Briar said if they die in the dream, they'll die in real life too!"
"I'm sorry. I don't know what to do besides trust that they'll be OK."
Four figures stood among the fallen members. Qi was attended by her summon Snake, likely called to try and wake up the others with magic. Beauty argued with her nearby, frustrated at not being able to do anything herself in the situation. They didn't notice Alden was awake just yet.
Most alarmingly, Briar stood alone nearby. Like his appearance with the spell before, his rabbit ears stuck up, revealing bright white lights that emanated from the inner parts of them. They looked as though they were beacons or sources of magic. Likewise, his eyes lacked irises, pupils or any other feature beyond the whites of his sclera. He didn't seem like he was going to respond to any sort of stimulation, as though he were in a sort of trance. The others would also could not be woken up. It might have surprised Alden to see Dofun, peacefully asleep at Briar's feet.
---
In the dream world, Alden's body dissolved into white dust. The white chimera wasted no time in continuing onto saving (or, perhaps, in their views, destroying) the others. Dashing across their perspectives like white paint applied to a black canvas, he nearly collided into Miranda. Unlike Alden, it only took seconds for him to eradicate her. In the real world, she too would wake up to what Alden saw in the guild hall, though with minimal confusion.
In the chaos, the creature sped off after Groundhorn, jumping high in the air in an attempt to grab his face as well.
---
"WOO!" Cinder shouted with delight. A magnificent, giant dog bone appeared in the center of the action. She and the corgi intended for Elrond leaped toward it and began to lick it furiously. Even the most ignorant of guild members would probably see that this was entirely opposite of the glass mage's usual behavior. Nevertheless, the two were totally distracted. The guild master succeeded in using the dream to his advantage.
If Stanley tried something similar and "drove" the corgi attempting to attack Groundhorn, he too could take advantage of the dreamed creature.
But unlike before, Jupiter would find that the corgi merely bounced off the wall and came running straight back at him. It seemed brute strength alone could not defeat these strange creatures.
---
Achlys, still in Dofun's form, nodded rapidly, getting more and more excited now as Maisie actually agreed to killing off one of her guild members... and the master at that! He went to shake her hand gleefully.
"My deer!" he said as the mask formed into another beaming smile. "Yoou truly have the makings to be my new fav-vor-writ son! Do not fear! Papa will put yoour silly guild master to death, just as yoou wish! I can do anything! Behold!"
Indeed, just as she wished, a sword of earth, as big as a two story house, appeared rather randomly in the air. It was a blatant abuse of power in this dream space. Not even an attempt was made to hide the fact that it literally required no power on Achlys's part to produce such a feat. He giggled like a crazed school girl as the blunt blade flew through the air to smash and crush Elrond, and anyone nearby, under its weight.
---
Meanwhile, Atre would find his seat to be a very good view to the action below. If perhaps he thought too hard about disastrous events that might occur, they would have a chance of coming to life before him.

Alden watched everything unfold and only further had his dislike of magic instilled. When he came to in the real world, he simply sat up and checked to see if anything he had done in the dreamscape had any real world effect. If his gun was loaded, if the sand had been used, how his shield fared and such.
Briar at least made it sound like there were real consequences of Achyls' little game.
---
Stanley noticed the arrival of the Corgi, but rather than seeking to ride it, he simply thought it to be the next opponent. Mounting the kitchen cart again, he 'drove' around a few times to gain speed, and then attempted to crash into the wayward dog.
---
"Right... impressive..."
Maisie watched as Achyls acted as he said, but cringed when she saw what he was actually going to do. She hoped she hadn't made a grave mistake in targeting Elrond as she had, and could only pray for the best at this point.
Yikes. Sorry Elrond...

Dofun put a hand to his chin in thought. "Yes...Renasence is quite a stupid name. Surely it be a flock of idiots."
And yet...
The thoughts wading about in the murkiness of his mind began to pick up their pace. Blurred images flashed in his mind, all with faces so vaguely familiar. He knew not their names, but almost felt as if he would recognize them on sight. Almost. He, wasn't quite sure...and that showed in his trembling tone.
"W-what is this blasphemy it speaks of?" He signaled for the cultist to stop moving, despite any pain the Pomeranian was inflicting on him. "You mentioned that the dog said something else. What was it...?"

”Huh?” Jupiter watched as the dog he had just thrown bounced off the wall like it was nothing had happened and the corgi was now on his way towards him ”There's gotta be somethin' wrong about this.” With how strong he had been just a moment ago Jupiter knew he should have been at least able to do something to the dog, but he couldn't. Even so since Jupiter wasn't always the most clever man, while he was oftentimes a very stubborn man and due to that Jupiter would not change his approach to this problem and so when the corgi would charge close enough so that Jupiter could hit so he would do and try and knock the dog out with his iron fist. And the plan was sure to fail.
---
Sitting on Achlys' throne Atre did not think about horrible things, unlike usually. Never before had anyone cornered him like this; when confronted by the horrors he always complained of, Atre would flee in a blink of an eye, but this time he had to face everything head on and all he could was sit there and watch. In his worries instead of horrible things Atre thought of the things he cared the most about; his family, his wife and his two daughters who were expecting him to return home safely, but Atre thought he might not be able to.

Miranda looked around with surprise. She was back in the Guild and away from that creepy monster... but it had somehow saved her too. She wasn't going to question it right now, but she knew there were still others trapped.
---
Elrond was glad that some of the others had been saved, but there were more to go.
To his surprise, Achlys had summoned a giant earth sword to crush him. He knew he could control the dream, but he wasn't sure what the limits were. Still, he concentrated as hard as he could for the sword to spin around and fall on Achlys instead.
Nevertheless, he made a mad dash out of the way, hoping to dodge the sword in case the dream didn't go his way. He promised himself he'd used his earth abilities to a minimum, and he was keeping that promise. He could see what would happen to him if he kept using his magic.
---
Groundhorn saw the chimera come for him, but didn't resist. He had received the Guild Master's message and trusted he knew what would happen.

The cultist stopped moving his arm and began to sweat nervously. He began to shake all over as his skin went pale.
"The beast spoke saying that you, our Lord Achlys, came to it in the form of a clown she knew. She went to wake him up, but saw a dark shadow enter into his body. You told her through him that she was an ugly human and needed to be punished for it. She said you're a... monster for hurting her and her clown friend... some weirdo named Dofun."
The crowd gasped in horror again. Seagarant Death the corgi began to bark incessantly, practically begging for the pomeranian to be put in its place and killed.
---
Alden would find that nothing had been altered. All of his equipment remained just as it was before he fell into the spell.
Groundhorn would wake up just as Miranda did, feeling refreshed and better than he had in likely a very long time. They would feel as though they had been merely asleep and dreaming. Looking about the guild, they would see their fellow members still trapped in the spell.
Beauty set about tieing up Dofun with a simple rope, in case Achlys were to wake up inside of him again. Knowing the great and powerful mage, it wasn't likely this would keep him still. Perhaps the other mages would have an idea.
"It looks like Briar is the catalyst for this spell," Qi said with her hand on her chin. She looked up at Briar, who stood perfectly still, caught in a magic trance with his rabbit ears stuck right up.
"What does that mean?" Beauty asked with a concerned frown.
"There are various kinds of magic. Some are brought about by utilizing objects, like when I summon my spirits with my keys. Achlys is using Briar to hold the guild in this spell."
The small mage gripped onto her cane in worry.
"Briar said that he and Achlys's Sand come from the same spell book. The sand is contained in a magical jar that repels the effects of the magic. If we tap Briar with one of those jars, we could probably break the spell and wake everyone up! But... I have no idea where we could find one. The only two I know of are Alden's and the one Asmoday hid away. If I wasn't so weak and corruptable, she wouldn't have had to hide it in the first place. If they all die because of me..."
Beauty gripped Qi's shoulders and gave her a fierce shake.
"Get ahold of yourself. This isn't about you. This is about finding one of those jars. I'm going to see if Alden has his on him."
The beast mage paced across the room, trying to reach Alden without stepping on her fellow, sleeping mages.
---
Meanwhile, in the dream world, Cinder and the first of the corgi trio adored and worshiped Elrond's conjured doggy bone. They were fit to focus on it unless interrupted otherwise.
Stanley would discover the corgi actually jumped into the air in what appeared to be an attempt to "glomp" him. Depending on what he would imagine to be the outcome, Stanley could go flying out of the kitchen cart or merely remain with the corgi in a giant corgi hug.
When the final corgi collided with Jupiter's fist, it merely remained as it was. There was no reaction whatsoever. It opened its mouth slightly and went to bite down cutely on Jupiter's fist. It would hurt as much as Jupiter could imagine it hurting.
---
"What," Achlys said, seeing the earth born sword fly right back him. It immediately crushed him, barely missing Maisie.
A few moments later, the mage broke through the sword with a single fist. It broke around him in several pieces.
"Wait a second!" he shouted as the face on Dofun's mask shifted to rage. "I hear voices! Voices outside of this realm! Voices of those who have woken up! Endeemeeyon, yoou've been evacooating hoomans this whole time, not eradicating them? And this girl tricked me into using the yield leader's very own magic on him! I have been played a fool!"
Suddenly, the entire arena collapsed. It was a smooth and deliberate action, as though all of the walls and structures had places of their own to fall into the floor. Atre would find that the throne itself fell too, but not so fast that he would be injured. He was now on ground level with every one else.
Having just saved Groundhorn, Briar (in the form of glowing white chimera) was going to go after Stanley next, but found himself right in the line of sight of Achlys.
"There is no way a son of mine loves hoomans! This is a trick! A travesty! Why would he risk his life to protect hoomans? Why would he betray me? Yoou all have him brainwashed!"
In a poof of black dust, Achlys warped along the now flat arena. He appeared right in front of Briar who shook and trembled where he stood. His white, void-like eyes were enormous and nearly encompassed his entire face.
"This is a waste of my valyoouble time!" he shouted, nearly pressing his face into Briar's. "None of yoou are worthy of my heritage! I will destroy yoou all, starting with yoou!"
Achlys held his hand up and summoned what appeared to be spiraling black magic. It spun and spun, growing larger in size. He pulled back the swirling mass and went to strike the chimera
"Dad, wait!" Briar suddenly called out. His voice vibrated unnaturally throughout the arena.
Achlys froze and held his spell at bay. The mouth on Dofun's mask fell open in shock.
"...'Dad?"
Now, more than ever, the great and powerful mage was open for attack. But would interrupting this moment prove to be a good idea? Maybe there was another way to settle this.

Alden heard everything that was said, but he didn't speak up or act. He just watched as Beauty walked across the room, thinking like she was going to get something from him, be it physical or even just his cooperation. He didn't act yet, he just looked, with an arm around the jar of sand plainly clear to see.
---
Stanley saw the dog incoming but he didn't really have time to dodge. He could really only take the problem head on, but in this case it meant a full speed headbutt from his driving helmet. What effect that might have on the dog remained to be seen, but if his vision was impaired well enough he'd end up driving the cart straight into a wall at fullspeed.
It went without saying that if such a thing were to happen, the simple metal kitchen cart with plates and wheels and a dishrag, would explode in a petrol fueled fireball. For some reason.
---
"Tricked you, what are you talking about? How was I supposed to know you wouldn't be powerful enough to take him on? You made it sound like you could do anything, and I believed you!"
Maisie became rather defensive when the dark mage started slinging accusations. In truth, she knew what she had done and it was all according to her plan, but outwardly her story was that she had seen the truth (or at least the power Achyls spoke of). As far as she could tell, she had not broken with this story, and kept by it for whatever reason.
It seemed though that it probably didn't matter much, since things were starting to fall apart for the dark mage. Briar causing him to pause was clear evidence of that, but though she could have acted out or even used her power, she held of for the time being and just carefully watched. She figured there would be an opportune moment to act, to use her ability for the better of the situation, and she didn't believe that moment had yet come.

Jupiter tried o hurt the dog attacking him, but was unsuccessful, however likewise the dog was unable to really damage Jupiter at all. That was because Jupiter did not expect the bite to hurt much and thus it did not. All in all Jupiter still didn't have a very good idea what was going on. He did figure out that attacking the dog was rather pointless however, as it would seem like neither of them could hurt each other.
”What now...?”
---
The moment the throne began to fall Atre used his magic and warped away as he always does whenever he was in any sort of danger, or at least thought that he was, like in this case as even if he had stayed on the throne Atre would have not been hurt at all. Of course since he could not leave this arena Atre did not make it very far and only warped to the ground nearby.
"How can you be so cold to your own son? Human or not I do not understand how anyone could not care for their children? That's horrible..." Atre scolded Achlys. "Family is everything... The reason I got in this horrible place is because my older daughter said to me "Dad, you need a need hobby. You worry too much." and so eventually I joined this guild."
"You should listen to what your son has to say."
