After a moment Jupiter found himself and everyone else that had been in the guild house transported to a some sort of arena and now their host, Achlys, wanted them to fight each other. Jupiter saw nothing wrong with a little fight. Soon Jupiter found out that Beauty had been assigned as his opponent. ”Whatever.”
Achlys had mentioned something about the winner getting demon powers, but even though that sounded a bit sinister Jupiter figured that it would have no effect on him no matter what. Beauty definitely wasn't his friend, in fact he barely even knew her. They were part of the same guild, but had never really interacted with each other at all.
”I don't give a damn, what'cha think!” Despite what he said Jupiter was quite visibly upset from the criticism he had received from Beauty. Jupiter did not appear fazed when Beauty transformed in to a beast and grew much larger, easily towering above him.
When Beauty tried to smash him Jupiter quickly evaded the attack by jumping backwards and then trying to get more distance to his opponent. Meanwhile Jupiter opened his bags so that the marbles could fly out and then sent dozens of them flying towards Beauty in an attempt to pummel her.
---
When he was pitted in a battle against Maisie Atre did what should be expected from him and after announcing just how ”...horrible.” all this was, he disappeared leaving nothing behind and thus instantly ending the fight, if you could even call it that. It would be unlikely that Atre would return anytime soon due to what was going on.

The situation changed quite drastically, and not really for the better. Alden heard from the weirdo what he believed all the guild mates would do, and didn't really care about a competition for the best. He just had an idea of how to defeat this bothersome enemy, and it seemed that to do so, he would need to win this competition or whatever it was.
As it were, his first opponent it seemed was Miranda. At least, they were concealed within the same arena segment. Taking his shield off his back he held it at his side.
"Just give up, you can duck out now, and we won't have to hurt one another."
---
Maisie was thrown in with Atre but he seemed unwilling to participate which was good, because neither was she. Instead, she just called out to the overseer, but also intended for everyone there to hear her.
"Wait, why should we fight one another? What happens if we don't? I'm not about to be told what to do by some monster!"
---
Within the cube of water stood the diver, and Fathom was almost entirely unaware of what was going on since it was near impossible to hear or understand your typical speech through all that water. Still though, Celeste was visible not far away and it looked to be some sort of combat environment?
As a result, the diver paced towards the opponent, the block of water churning as it went until finally a torrent of water blasted forth like a fire hose.
---
Stanley, thrown into such an evironment was at a disadvantage of sorts, since his powers were based on mobility. Still though, it seemed he had not been discounted entirely, and to accomodate him it seemed a trolley from the kitchen had been brought with. Grabbing the handles and propping his feet on the bottom shelf of the cart, the whole thing started to move, and he took off.
"I can Drive to this."
Picking up speed, he intended to circle Groundhorn till enough momentum had been gained, after which he would try to crash into the mage.

Everything happened too fast for Elrond. Though they had been transported and a tournament was to be had, Elrond wanted none of it.
The wall of fire did not matter to him. He would never fight one of his own. "I yield!" he yelled up to Achlys. "Qi wins!" Elrond wanted to fight him.
He would then attempt to raise two huge pillars of stone out of the foundations and hurl them at Achlys.
---
When Miranda saw Alden was her opponent, she raised her hands. "I'm with you there, no fighting between us." Miranda was never a fighter. She could rally the troops, like she'd done in Edolas, but leading them into battle was another thing. Especially against one of her own guild mates...
---
Celeste was confused and scared. She didn't want to fight her friends. Yet, when it appeared Fathom did want to fight, she had no choice but to defend.
As the torrent of water came crashing towards her, she pulled a wand and pointed it. If all went well, the water should freeze solid.
---
Groundhorn only wanted to be back at the Guild. He had done all he could to save and protect it, and just like Edolas, he was pulled away again. To make things worse, he was fighting against those he wanted to protect. He saw that Alden and Miranda and Elrond too had decided not to fight, so he took with them.
But Stanley still came at him. Groundhorn raised his arms to block, but when Stanley crashed into him he went flying and crashed into the empty seating. Groundhorn knew that one of them lost, the fighting would be over, so he would simply stay there and let Stanely win, for what that was worth.

Dofun brought his hand to his chin in thought. For a minute or two, he did naught but hum as his mind slowly connected more and more thoughts. His tone was hesitant, his eyes focused on the little doggy.
"So...you were a maiden of some sort? A glass maiden...turned into a little glass-ruling doggy, eh hee hee hee." The laugh seemed empty, forced.
"Hmph. So, what, exactly? Hm? Do you wish for my assistance, furry one? Or, are you here just because you dared to insult the absolutely magnificent Sergeant Death, hm?"
A long sigh. The haze in his mind was strong. He could barely manage to link a few words together for a sentence. "What...would you have me do, little furry one?"

The pillars of stone went hurdling at Achlys in Dofun's body, but stopped just before they hit him and Cinder, sleeping at his feet.
"Ohohohoho!" he laughed, holding his hand out, as though it was responsible for making the pillars float. "Yoou think yoou can yust declare the tiny hooman the victor? No! Yoou have much more fight in yoou! I want to see it!"
Snapping his hand out to the side, the pillars of stone each went flying toward Elrond and Qi respectively. Just as the one was about to hit the small summoner, a figure appeared about her in a shining golden light and blocked the attack.
It was the summon Horse, the giant with a horse's head and only boxers for clothing. Something seemed different about him though. It was a quality that was found in Dragon, still standing on Qi's shoulder. But Elrond likely wasn't as familiar with that summon enough to see a considerable difference in his appearance.
Horse's eyes were stark black, as though they were made of dark marble. The detail in his skin was abnormal. The horseshoe pattern on his boxers was dull and abstract. It might have been hard to tell just what, but there was something off about him.
The fire wall cleared suddenly, showing Elrond the full scope of Qi's plan of attack. Horse was kneeling, as though ready to sprint forward. But the oddest thing about this image wasn't the strange appearance of the summons but Qi herself.
Her cane was on the ground nearby. She was standing perfectly straight on her own. She didn't look exhausted from summoning two powerful spirits. In fact, she looked better than ever.
"Elrond, please forgive me," she said with a grimace. "I want to be more powerful but I can't on my own. I'm so sorry."
She pointed and the summoned giant clambered forward to grab Elrond in his hands. He didn't seem to want to hurt him, but rather subdue him.
"I don't want you and the others to leave me behind!" she continued with a wavering voice.
---
Despite Jupiter's best efforts, the marble attack had no effect on Beauty. It was odd though. Why didn't it at least hurt her a little bit? Even as big and monstrous as she was, it was still relatively known that she was only average in comparison to the rest of Renascence. Why was she suddenly so powerful now?
"You're wrong," Beauty said in a deep, guttural voice as she loomed over Jupiter. "I didn't think my thoughts mattered, but now I see that they did. If I told Briar how I really felt... maybe he wouldn't have hated himself in the end!"
Thrashing forward in frustration and rage, the mage aimed to slam Jupiter directly through the wall. The arena separated fighters in sections around the chair where Achlys sat. The wall that Beauty broke through, regardless of if she actually hit Jupiter or not, lined Alden and Miranda's failed duel. Her enormous beastly body broke through and fell forward. If Alden, Jupiter or Miranda didn't act quickly, the mage hunter would be crushed.
---
Celeste, Fathom, Groundhorn and Stanley would feel a familiar sensation. The more they used their powers in this place, the more anxious and worried they would become. Their hearts would beat faster. Their stomachs would feel like they were twisting into knots. The world felt like a horrible, awful place. No matter what they did, they couldn't escape the sinking feeling. They might be able to feel their powers grow inexplicably stronger, but even knowing that would fail to calm their nerves.
It felt like a nightmare.
---
Meanwhile, Achlys kept watching and laughing with a bowl of popcorn that had appeared in his lap. He occasionally fed a kernel to Cinder, who barked much like a small dog and smiled happily at the man in Dofun's body. The rabbit in the cage dangling next to his throne squeaked and whimpered at the action below, particularly at Beauty's lament.
Leaning forward, Achlys in the clown's body tilted its mask at Maisie in confusion.
"Yoou do not want to fight? Are yoou a silly girl? Why would yoou not want demon powers? Are yoou ungrateful or something? I'm not asking yoou to kill yoour friends. I'm only asking yoou to maim them or hurt them very badly or take them out however yoou please. What's so bad about that?"
---
Atre would find that his spell transported him to the exact same position he was already in. For whatever reason, this place registered as "home." If he tried to teleport elsewhere, he would notice that he would appear again the exact same spot. It wasn't that his magic wasn't working, he could transport to literally anywhere he wanted in the arena. His magic, however, was limited to just that.
It was as if the only place in the world was the empty arena. There were no other places he could go. If he could feel anything besides deep depression, he might have felt fear, for something was awfully, terribly wrong about the whole situation.
---
The pomeranian jumped back and forth on the table before Dofun's throne. It barked again as its beady little eyes stared directly at him.
"By the Eternal Night!" one of the cult members shouted. "This fiend says it wants freedom! It says that it's not a pomeranian, but a mage named Cinder! What sort of preposterous lie is this? It is only trying to escape its fate! Lord Achlys! We should kill it now before it can further insult you or Sergeant Death!"
The crowd cheered and shouted. They all agreed and suggested various means to kill the dog, ranging from horrible acts of murder to rather creative means like choking it with marshmallows.

Miranda gained some respect in Alden's eyes, from her actions. Not that she just surrendered to make things easier for him, but she could just as easily have put up a fight anyway or tried to talk something over. She didn't bother though, speeding the whole process along, so they could get to the bottom of this whole situation.
Of course despite his initial victory, his chances might have been cut short, due to the collapsing wall and onset beast. He didn't have enough time to get out his telescope to warp away, and so instead threw his shield on his back and attempted to run out of the way. At least he might be protected from falling rocks like this, but his efforts might not be enough to avert the marauding beast.
---
The freezing effect necessitated Fathom to break off the attack, or risk having it spread to the larger mass of water. As per the strange effect of this place however, the use of magic was visibly taking its toll on the diving mage. Already the cube of water was starting to look highly unstable as the currents within began to churn and froth, scattering the fish every which way and making visibility poor as amounts of water began to splash off from the cube and pool about here and there.
The effect was clearly quite alarming for the mage, and something of an anguished cry could be discerned through all the water and static, before they attempted one more attack. Through the tidal chaos within, two rather large globs of water were hurled towards Celeste, though they were unstable in form and haphazardly aimed. They might hurt to get hit by dead-on, but chances were they would probably miss, or even lose shape altogether before hitting and just wash over the area.
That seemed to be about the limit though, as the cube of water became so turbulent, that it barely resembled a cube anymore and the mage within was lost sight of in the unstable swirling waters.
---
Stanley had not expected Groundhorn to just take it, and so was actually not prepared for the collision. Though Groundhorn might have been knocked into the stands, Stanley too was dismounted from his makeshift vehicle, and sent tumbling across the arena floor. Though it looked rather rough and he was probably hurt, it wasn't long before he righted himself and was intent on driving some more. He looked worse for the wear, but certainly didn't feel it. Practically bubbling with energy (or perhaps impatience), he looked far too eager to move onto whatever was planned for next, and shuddered in place from the nightmarish sensation.
"Let's go let's go! Need to Drive, need to Drive!"
The anticipation was taking its toll, and as far as he was concerned, the only way to rid himself of this horrible state of mind was to continue fighting. It felt like he was caught in a haze, and the only way out was to go fast enough to break free.
---
Maisie all the while, having thus far abstained from using her magic, was as of yet unperturbed by the strange effect of this place. Thanks in part to Atre, all she had done so far was talk, and continued to do so towards the warden who felt compelled to address her.
"That's pretty much how it is... and it's not as if I don't want to fight because I don't want to hurt my friends or anything, I just don't want anything to do with those disgusting demon powers. Really, why would anyone want something so pathetic as that?"
She cringed when she heard the smashing of the arena some segments over, but did her best to keep it together.
"I honestly cannot think of something less appealing than that. To think, a human or anything else for that matter, actually weakening themselves... lowering their position to that of a demon. Nothing is lower than that."

”What the...?” Jupiter's marbles had no effect on beauty at all. It would seem like they did no damage at all. Then again they were only tiny orbs that weren't very sturdy to begin with, Jupiter didn't expect too much of them. His magic was basically useless, it was only barely magical to begin with. ”...” Jupiter did not comment on when Beauty talked about wanting to talk to Briar. Jupiter had nothing to say about the subject. His magic did not pack enough of a punch to do anything to Beauty so Jupiter had to resort to a plan B, which he had done many times in the past; and that plan B was to go for a fist fight. His fists did have much more destructive power than his marbles after all. Beauty might have been much larger than he was now, but Jupiter did not consider that a problem, he was sure he was still stronger. At least that is what he thought. And so when Beauty tried to ram in to him Jupiter prepared to punch her and when she got close enough to hit Jupiter would hit her as hard as he could hoping that it would knock her out. Or at least do something, or else Jupiter would get smashed through the nearby wall. --- Atre's magic failed. He could not escape this arena with his magic. To prove that this place was not actually his home he tried warping to somewhere else but the result did not change, he could not escape this arena no matter what he tried. Atre knew how his magic works and with that was able to deduce that there was nothing else in the world, other than this arena. ”Horrible... I can not leave.” Atre told Maisie, but despite what he had said did disappear right after that. He couldn't have gone very far though as he could not escape this place. Atre appeared near Achlys' throne since that was the one place where he would not be fighting at. He also wanted to ask Achlys something. ”Why can't I leave? Is there really nothing outside?” When Atre said this there was something a little different about him.

When the stone pillar flew back towards Elrond, he pointed his hand forward, fingers outstretched like a spear, and the stone split down the middle. However, as sudden as he had avoided one attack, Qi was attacking again with her Horse summon.
In a move of desperation, Elrond raised his arms and a shell of stone surrounded him like a sheild. In the darkness beneath the stone, Elrond breathed hard. He could feel it, his power growing stronger, but it wasn't his own. It felt like another force pushing against him. It was even so strong as to compel his own guildmates to fight against one another.
But he knew he couldn't defeat Achlys without his magic. He also knew that as long as Achlys remained in Dofun's body, then he couldn't attack the mage. It made sense. Achlys wanted to force them to play his game. But he wouldn't play it.
Perhaps he could not defeat Achlys without his magic, but Elrond decided he may be able to defeat Qi without it. He would break her free from Achlys spell, no matter what.
If Horse had been trying to destroy the stone shell, it would now crumble away, and if not, Elrond would dispel it. He took a step forward and dashed straight for Qi. Raising a fist, he yelled, "WAKE UP!" Then swung.
There was plenty of time for anyone, Qi, Horse, or someone else, to stop him.
---
Miranda had no magic to stop the falling rocks, so she took to hiding behind Alden and his shield for whatever protection it could provide.
---
Celeste raised her arms to protect against the torrent of water, but luckily it had dissipated enough to cause no harm, though it did drench her. She looked to Fathom again, but saw only water. Where he was within that storm, she could not say, and she could not stop it either.
Celeste, having no magic, did not feel the pressure the others were, though she did note her wands appeared more powerful than usual. She glanced at Achlys within Dofun's body. What could she do against her friend?
---
Groundhorn was a man without magic, so he, like Celeste, did not feel the pressure. Having no magical items either, he did not even feel it there. But he did see Stanely reacting to the pressure.
Achlys was a monster, driving his guild to become such wild animals. He had to do something to stop it, but what? He wished he had that shard of the guild and could speak to Validus once more. He would surely know what to do.

Qi laid on the coliseum floor silent and absolutely dumbfounded. Just moments before, her friend and leader actually struck her physically. The shock somehow caused her summons to vanish, leaving her all alone. Why would Elrond do such a thing? Obviously, she had been trying to subdue him, but when such a thing had happened before, Elrond only trapped her within a cage. Why would he hit her? And for that matter, why didn't the punch hurt?
It couldn't be... could it?
"Elrond, is this a dream?" she asked.
The small summoner let out a horrified scream, seeing a creature suddenly appear out of black dust above her. She squirmed and kicked, trying to get away from the thing. As her emotions turned to panic, her leg became lame again, as though her confidence was the very thing keeping it normal. She failed to get away and found herself caught in its grasp.
Qi crumbled into white dust.
As the creature stood up, Elrond would likely have a better look at it. It appeared to be a lycanthrope or chimera. It was humanoid, but had thick black fur covered its neck and back of its arms. It dressed in rags and had a slight hunch. Its eyes were bright white, contrasting with its gray skin, black hair and even darker rabbit-like ears.
"Elrond!" it shouted in Qi's voice. "Wake up!"
It sprinted forward, holding back a long, lanky hand. In the center of its palm, a white void glowed. It aimed to tackle Elrond and eradicate him the same way it had done to Qi.
Judging by the noise heard by the other contestants, it was definitely possible to flee the section of the arena. The closest wall to Elrond would provide an escape to where Maisie stood alone. The furthest lead to Elrond and Miranda's section, where Beauty was currently rampaging with Jupiter in her wake. If he was brave enough, he could stay to confront the creature alone.
---
Alden would find that the chunks of the wall bounced off his shield harmlessly. Oddly enough, it seemed his shield was stronger than it could ever reasonably be. Like the others, he would begin to feel a sinking feeling in his stomach. Something felt wrong about the whole thing experience.
Meanwhile, Jupiter would find that his punch did seem to hurt Beauty. She roared in pain and fell forward, swinging her enormous fists this way and that. She was rampaging and unable to tell the difference between friend and foe. If Alden, Miranda and Jupiter didn't act quickly, they might find themselves in deep trouble.
Like some of the others, Beauty had succumbed to the influence of whatever pressure was making their powers grow. If Jupiter's strength couldn't stop her, what could?
---
Achlys spun around in his chair and looked at Atre with a baffled look, which was somewhat odd, given that he was wearing a mask in Dofun's body. He kicked his legs rapidly as Cinder stared at Atre with beaming wide eyes, rolling on her back like a tiny puppy.
"Is there nothing outside?" he asked with a giddy voice. "Of course there isn't! I control this realm! Yoou cannot leave here no matter what silly magic yoou have up yoour sleeves! I determine yoour destiny here! Now go and fight, yoou hooman!"
Dofun's mask contorted as Maisie stated her case. It seemed her sentiments toward demons actually affected him emotionally.
"Lowering themselves to a demon?" he asked with a squeaking voice. "Yoou are so wrong that yoou are the wrongest person that ever was wrong! Yoou'd actually say that with yoour friend sitting right here in this cage? Wait a second..."
He looked over at the cage that had been suspended off the platform. The rabbit inside was gone.
"Oh sheet! Endeemeeyon has gone free! What a disaster! No... hold on a moment..."
Achlys pointed to the section of the arena where Elrond and Qi were facing off against the lycanthrope.
"Aha! My deemon son is attacking your friends as we speak! He's already destroyed the tiny one! Yoour yuild master is going to die by his hand! What do yoou say to that? Weak, my ass!"

"Huh, that's weird... maybe if- oh damn."
Alden was rather concerned towards the effect persisting over his shield and in his gut. He hadn't gotten to use any of his magic items yet, but if the effect could work on something as completely mundane as his shield, then he was curious to see what would happen with his actual magic items. Either way he didn't get much more time than that to consider the prospect, as only too late he saw Beauty's monstrous form lumbering towards him.
Thankfully with his defense up, he wasn't turned to jam outright, but the shield splintered asunder and he was sent tumbling across the arena till he hit a wall in a stop. Groaning, he tried to move but had trouble of it, feeling appropriately enough like he had been run over by a truck. He wasn't sure what good it would do, but propping himself up against the wall, he pulled forth the jar of sand from before and undid the lid. Grabbing a handful, he waited to see how if at all the others would respond to Beauty.
---
"Did I win, did I win? Need to continue to Drive here, man."
Stanley, assuming to have defeated his opponent, shivered and shuddered while he waited for what he assumed to be the next round of the fights. The rush of sensation from before was now starting to be overtaken by the sinking feeling, and he wanted to remedy that quickly.
---
Without any outside assistance or interaction, Fathom continued to be tormented within the cube of water that was more and more starting to resemble a blender, or an industrial cat washing machine.
---
"Still more right than you, at least I'm not a demon."
Maisie had a look of utter disgust to have to continue speaking with this inferior being. To think, that he believed he could tempt her, much less the others with power was a sad notion. She wasn't sure what the implication was of the rabbit getting loose was, but perhaps her attempts of provocation were actually working.
"Aha! My deemon son is attacking your friends as we speak! He's already destroyed the tiny one! Yoour yuild master is going to die by his hand! What do yoou say to that? Weak, my ass!"
"So is that... all it does? The demon power, it just... makes you stronger and attack people?" Maisie tried to stifle her giggling, but failed miserably and burst out laughing, "Forgive me, but you sounded so sure of the power, that I thought for a second maybe you might be right, and it did something exceptional. Now that I know the truth though, I can't say I'm disappointed so much as even less interested than before, if such a thing is possible. Just making someone stronger is possibly the lowest level of human accomplishment in power, while you consider it your greatest? Really, truly pathetic. At least now though I can say for sure that I truly am right, and you truly are wrong, and not just because you're a demon."
With such self-assurance, she was finally able to settle down from the laughing fit, and retain her former composure. It didn't matter how much higher than her Achyls was, if it were possible for her to look down on him any more, she wasn't aware of it. She spoke to him not even as she would an ant, but as she might to someone else's imaginary friend; forced expression and response to play along, in a conciliatory fashion to make the other person think they weren't delusional.
"Oh, and by the way, the 'tiny one' is the weakest of all of us, possibly the weakest person I've ever met. To say your son defeated her as a testament to your power, really does yourself a disservice. Plus Elrond is only guild master in name, he's actually the next weakest after Qi." she shook her head with a sigh in response, a mocking smirk on her face, "I must say though, it's cute that you're trying. I'd be flattered, if it wasn't all just so... sad."

Elrond knew he had to fight this monster. As far as he knew, it had just destroyed Qi. No, he wouldn't accept athat. She was just somewhere else , alive and well. This creature was not her, that was for sure.
As the hand with the white void approached, Elrond jumped high in the air to attempt a dodge. If successful, he would try to punch the creature, using gravity to increase the damage. He would not use his magic, however. If it drove him to insanity as it did to Qi, he would have to win this fight with just his fists.
---
Miranda was glad to see that Alden's shield blocked the oncoming rubble. However, Beauty was there too in full beast mode. "I did not sign up for this!" She shouted. She just wanted to save Briar and go home. But, at least for the moment, there was nothing she could do.
---
Likewise, Groundhorn was not able to do anything either. Stanley continued to in their section of the arena. He wished everyone was in Edolas, where no one had magic, and then Achlys magic wouldn't work on them.
--
Celeste could also only watch as Fathom was consumed by the torrents of water.

Jupiter noticed that punching Beauty was indeed much more effective than hitting her with marbles and so he figured out that now he had to hit her again and again until she would go down. It probably wouldn't be too easy though with Beauty waving her arms around like that. Sure Jupiter could just ask Alden or Miranda for help, but that was not in his character. Especially since this was supposed to be a duel, even though that was ruined by poorly built walls.
So when Beauty tried to slam him Jupiter would attempt to grab her arm, then lift her up and then throw her as hard as he could. Once again this was a very reckless thing to try and Jupiter could get hurt very badly.
---
Atre found himself cornered, with no way to escape; in a simply put impossible situation. When Achlys told Atre to go fight he had to refuse: ”Fighting would be... horrible. I have already surrendered. There is no point for me to fight anymore.” Instead Atre remained there on the plateau on the middle of the arena and would not move unless he would feel threatened.

Fortunately for Alden and Miranda, Jupiter succeeded in lifting Beauty and throwing her across the arena. Again, in a normal situation, a feat like this would have been difficult, maybe even impossible. But here Jupiter was, lifting someone more than five times his size and throwing them an incredible distance.
The beast mage went crashing into the wall that contained Elrond and the creature he encountered.
Beauty stood up slowly as the rumble fell about her. One of her horns was actually stuck in a chunk of debris. Her large, hulking form began to prowl forward on hands and feet toward Alden, Jupiter and Miranda. Her eyes were cold and feral. She growled viciously and shook her head at the three, not seeing Elrond or the dream-like rabbit creature behind her.
---
Dofun's mask on Achlys's face contorted again in response to Maisie's teasing.
"Yoou are dumb!" he shouted, gripping the arm rests of his throne in anger. "Yoou are so very dumb! Deemon power is more than pure strength! It contains the ability to see beyond your boring diemension. And even if you were right, I'm not a deemon! I am a..."
He paused for a moment and tilted his head. He then shouted again in anger.
"Shut up, filthy hoomen!"
Turning his chair toward the distraught Atre, Dofun's mask began to smile again. At least someone respected his power.
"If I told yoou, yoou could get out of here by fighting yoour hooman comrades, would yoou do it?"
He began to shout to the others, though with all of the conflict going on, his question might have fallen on deaf ears.
"Would any of yoou trade the lives of those weaker to obtain the ultimate power? Who wants to become my new, fav-vor-writ son?"
Cinder raised her hand like a paw, looking up at Achlys, kneeling at his feet.
"Woo!"
"Silly, dog!" Achlys said gleefully. "Dogs can't be deemons!"
---
The being's white void-like eyes widened when Elrond punched it. It went flying back and rolled across the ground. Its face was solemn, as though he had never been hit.
"Master Elrond," a voice suddenly called out. "Please listen... I need your help."
It was Briar's voice. It felt like it was vibrating through his mind. It was an uncomfortable feeling, like he was invading his utmost privacy.
"Lord Achlys has trapped Renascence in a Nightmare," he continued. "You're all asleep. This isn't real. The more you use what you think is your power or magic here, the more Lord Achlys traps you. I've been able to wake up Miss Qi and I think I could get you out too... but maybe it's better that you stay here for a while. Poor Miss Qi, she's so worried for us right now..."
Qi's voice previously had been coming from the white magic voids in the creature's rabbit-like ears. She could be faintly heard pleading the others to wake up and succumbing to sorrow when no one did. The creature's face turned to him, still as expressionless.
"When I get up... I hope you don't mind but... I'm going to chase you. Lord Achlys can't know that I'm trying to save you guys so try to act like I'm attacking you. He has to think I'm on his side. Otherwise, he could do something unspeakable. See if you can break the walls down to get to some of the others so I can free them. Ready?"
Suddenly, Beauty went crashing through the wall closest to the creature. Her huge form flailed about as rumble crumbled around her. Soon, she began to make her way toward Alden, Jupiter and Miranda, who were in the section of the arena now open to Elrond.
"Hurry! Go!"
The creature stood and began to pace toward Elrond with its one, glowing arm outstretched.

Elrond's fist stung when he punched the being, much more than he expected. He was preparing to attack it again when he heard a voice come from it, and he stopped.
Briar! He knew Qi was okay, and he knew Briar wouldn't give up on them. So it was just a dream? That meant that all of these people around him, they were just in the mind. They couldn't be harmed, at least not physically.
And best of all, it seemed Briar could wake them up.
He just needs to reach them. And thanks to Beauty breaking through one of the walls, he had a direct path to many of the mages.
Elrond spun away from the creature and dashed for Beauty. He attempted to grab Beauty by the horn and lunge her towards the creature, hoping Briar could wake her up.
Without a moment's hesitation after, he went for the next person in sight: Alden. He knew he couldn't tell Alden he was just trying to wake him up, for Achlys would hear. He'd have to use his magic, but just a little.
Upon the ground beneath Alden's feet, he formed words in the ground: "Trust the white-eyed chimera."
He then dashed for another wall, preparing to knock it over and connecting both Groundhorn and Stanely to the scene.
---
Miranda noticed the words on the ground, as she was still hiding behind Alden. She pointed it out to him. "Look! That's Elrond's magic."
She looked towards the creature the words referred to. It certainly didn't look like something that should be trusted. "Is this another trick?"

(OOC: I am skipping viewpoints of Celeste and Groundhorn, since they pretty much haven't done anything since the last post.

Alden saw the message appear, and heard Miranda, but he had an idea well enough of how to act.
"You said it's Elrond's magic. I trust him."
Of course just because he believed what the guild master was saying, didn't mean that he suddenly knew what to do. He could trust the Chimera as much as he wanted, but beyond that, wasn't sure what else to do. Was he supposed to talk to it? Attack it? Go over and give it a hug?
Not that it mattered much, in trying to reach his feet, he found he couldn't move well at all. Never one to complain though, he figured Miranda was smart enough to figure things out if prompted to.
"Go see what it wants maybe? You don't have to go and touch it, maybe just try talking to it?"
---
"Damn."
When Achyls told her to shut up, Maisie feared she had played her hand too strong, and simply caused the enemy to turn from her entirely. It had been her belief that if she could provoke him enough, Achyls would act. In what way she could not know, but anything was better than nothing, even if he came down to punish her in person. Now though, it seemed her efforts had been for naught.
Maybe though, maybe it wasn't too late, if she tried a different approach. The worst that could happen was that nothing came of it, but at least she tried.
"Seeing into other dimensions? Now that is something else entirely... I wonder, if I could wait till the others whittle each other down, and then take them all out at the end to win..."
She mused, aloud, to no one in particular. The bait was very real.
