Dofun laughed in joy as the piece of earth flew through the air. "Wow-ow-ow! Now this is amazing! Truly the best form of transportation, the only mode, the only way we should ever go anywhere again ever! To be so high in the sky, ah, it's greaaaaaat."
Druid would suddenly find Dofun's hands all over his face, strectching his skin, honking his nose, pinching his cheeks.
"Hey, how did you do that! That wasn't any magic i've ever seen! Wow, you must be some sort of real expert shapeshifter, huh? Where'd you learn that, huh? Come on, tell me, tell me, tell me. Ooooooh! I bet I could mimic that! Oh by the way, what did you smell on me anyway, hm? The intoxicating scent of fun, absolutely soaking me in its beautiful aroma?! Wait...WHAT?!"
He turned to look directly at Jupiter, who would witness a high-pitched, distressed scream emanate from the horrible flesh-mask that imitated his own face.
"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! WE'RE GOING TO WHERE FUN DIES?! THIS IS THE WORST TRIP EVER!"

Elrond sat at the very front of the flying rock, which had slowly transformed during the trip to resemble what might appear to be an airplane, with seats and long wings.
Sitting near Qi was Asmoday, who kept her hands tightly on her lap as she watched the scenery far below zoom by.
Looking over at Qi, she gave a small smile. "I'm doing well! I've never been to Era before, nor have I met any of the Magical Council. Though..." Her face blushed. "I do wish that Alden was here. He really just... doesn't seem to pay much attention to me." She closed her lips after that, careful not to say too much more.
---
Elrond laughed at Jupiter and Dofun. "A place where fun dies? You are such a joker! Hahah! This is the place where dreams come true, where OUR dream is going to come true!"
To answer Druid, he said, "We shouldn't be too far off now. Actually..." Elrond squinted his eyes and in the distance he saw a marvelous town start to appear. "I-I think that's it! That's Era guys! Shouldn't be much longer till we get there!"
--- Mark scoffed at Azriel. "You did not read the transcript I sent you, did you? Fable was a guild... oh, why am I saying this. It does seem pretty obvious that the connections of Renascence to that of Fable are limited at best. We'll just get them here, ask some questions, and send them on our way. Sometimes I really wonder what is the point of being Rank 1!"
Jericho on the other hand simply smiled and looked out the window. In the distance he thought he saw a dot in the sky, but he was old and his eyes weren't very reliable at this point.
However, his hearing was excellent, and when he heard some commotion going from outside the double doors.
"Something is not right," said Jericho, pointing at the door, his pipe in his hand. "I believe we have some visitors."
---
Astral Lance plugged his ears as Apollo let loose his devastating and dangerous magic. When Apollo was finished, he unplugged his ears and laughed at all the mindless controlled people.
"Alright, this is what I want you guards to do," he said. "Get in line and get ready to be eaten. Spider Thighs over here is hungry!" At that, all the guards lined up in front of the horrifying spider.
"Except you, Elly," he added in. "You come with me, the rest of you too. That door," he pointed at the door at the end of the hall, "is the door of our destiny!!"
And so he lead the group to the door which he quickly swung open. There, he saw four of the Magical Council. Though he did not recognize Jericho, he guessed he was the man who had replaced him. That didn't interest him though. The only thing that interested him was Mark. Rank 1.
He had the info he wanted.
"I'm back," said Astral Lance, stepping into the room. "And I've brought friends."

When Druid went around sniffing people Jupiter did not appear very pleased when it was his turn. And that was an understatement, he looked very upset about this, though for some reason did not throw Druid off the floating piece of land they were riding on. ”Ya haven't ever been there? It's just fillin' all these stupid papers and crap... And answering these stupid damn questions from these annoying old bastards. And you really won't get much outta it.” Jupiter was still very against the idea of going to the council. He had been there before, back when he started as a mage, and it certainly hadn't been worth it back then and there was no reason for him to expect that much had changed over the years. ”How come ya haven't ever been there before? Ya're much older than me. What the hell you've been doing before you started this guild?” Meanwhile Jupiter did the best he could to ignore anything Dofun said or did, even though it certainly wasn't easy. --- When Apollo told the rest of the Oracion Seis to use the earplugs Aether instead put his fingers in his ears to block the Siren's song and it did work as he did not display any effects of being mind controlled. Then however it was questionable if Apollo's magic would work on Aether at all anyway, since he apparently had no brains at all. When he noticed that Elly had also been affected by Apollo's magic Aether showed his more wicked side, by bossing the poor girl around: ”Elly. Tell me your best joke.” --- ”I may or may not have read those papers... But you see, I don't really care about things that happened before. Those are just relics from the past and I only look forward to the future. The great, brilliant future!” Despite being the rookie councilman Azriel was not intimidated by his seniors and superiors. ”And if you ain't happy with being number one maybe it's time to retire.” ”Yo. Who's this guy? Are these the Renascence guys?” Not only did he not know about Fable it would seem like Azriel did not know Astral Lance either.

"Except you, Elly, you come with me, the rest of you too. That door, is the door of our destiny!!"
"Yes, ok."
Spellbound, Elly nodded and followed after Astral, after having had to try and fight her way to the front of the line of soldiers in order to be consumed by the spider monster. All in all despite everything that was going on, she seemed relatively unfazed, the siren's song doing a good job to expel any thoughts or personality from her.
”Elly. Tell me your best joke.”
"When my friend said she was leaving because of my obsession with The Monkees, I thought she was joking. And then I saw her face."
Responding to Aether without missing a beat, she looked around at the new room and all the new people, otherwise waiting for some command from one of the others.

Qi's face flushed up, hearing Asmoday's wish that Alden was there. It clicked right away that Asmoday had some kind of crush on Alden, having known her friend Cinder to have many crushes in her childhood before.
"I see," she said, looking away to not make her feel embarrassed.
"Wow!" Sheep bleated. "It's been so long since I've seen Era! Humans really make such beautiful cities!"
The small summoner's eyes lit up, beholding Era. So this was where their dreams were going to become reality. It wasn't until she found her summoning keys, tucked away in a family cellar, that she would have ever thought she could stand proudly beside a great mage like Elrond. Only years ago, she thought her life would have been lifeless and drull, stuck in an accounting position she only passively wanted to be part of.
Then and there, she was excited to be part of Renascence.
---
Eliza leaned back in her candy themed throne. Her tiny beady brown eyes peered at the Oracion Seis with great disappointment. She folded her hands in her lap.
"I suppose these monsters are not here to talk policy, are they, Astral Lance?"
---
Apollo threw his hands on his head, his eyes nearly bulging in shock that he forgot to make sure Elly had her earplugs in. Unable to speak without disrupting the situation, he waved his hands out in a fury, trying to signal that he didn't want her to be fed to Spider Thighs or subject otherwise to the will of the others.
Stepping up to her, he whispered softly, though the others still might have felt somewhat disoriented.
"Disregard my previous order and follow your own will again. Now, please put in the earplugs, if you would."
Turning toward the four members of the council, he frowned. He waited for the others to act. The six of them had incredible power, but not exactly the judgement he was expecting. Instead of asking the guards to team up with them against the Council, Astral Lance had them eaten. He would have rather not had Spider Thighs satisfied, though maybe that would stop the beast from eating them too.

That does sound boring. Is there reaaaaaaaly nothing else to do in this place? Reaaaaaly?"
Dofun entered full whiny child mode and groaned at the thought of a day and trip wasted in paperwork.

"It's more than just papers!" said Elrond after Jupiter's comments. "It's a city where all the Guilds in all of Fiore come together! It's place that connects us all! And there, in that city, are ten people, the ten Magical Council that determine just who becomes official Guilds."
Elrond clenched his fist tightly. "It has always been my dream to become an official Guild, to create one more powerful than any other, more heroic, and to prove to my father that..."
Elrond slowed down. "My father never wanted me to practice magic. He thought it was terrible and would only lead to doom. I would hear every day stories of my ancestor, Validus Vir, and how he had created a Guild that no other could compare to. He fought in many great battles against Dark Guilds and always put his members first. But my grandfather also said it lead to his death."
Elrond sighed. "Perhaps that's why my father doesn't support me. But life is more than just living. It's making something you can be proud of. And that is why we have to become official in Era."
Elrond didn't say much after that. He simply looked towards the horizon as the city grew closer and closer.
---
Amsmoday heard all that Elrond said. She had always wanted a place to call home, ever since she woke up that morning with no memories of her past. It took her a while, and she still had regret for some of her past actions, but now she felt a place where she belonged.
But she couldn't imagine how Elrond felt. She decided then that she'd support him however she could. Renascence was her guild now too.
---
Back at the Magical Council in Era, Astral Lance had finally made his big reveal to the Magical Council members.
Mark, Rank 1, shook his head at Azriel. His face was red and he looked full of anger. Big veins popped on his forehead and his pure white eyes shined. "No, this is not Renascence. This is not Renascence at all."
He slowly rose out of his seat. It was only then that all around could see just how massive the man was. "This is Astral Lance, former Rank 3 of the Magical Council, and betrayer! Why have you returned here? Why have you attacked my men? Answer me, traitor!" His voice was like thunder.
"Whoah there, big guy, chill out!" said Astral Lance, casually walking into the room with the rest of the Oracion Seis behind him. "You were always too serious."
Astral Lance laughed at Eliza's comment. "Policy? Oh, yes, yes, we are indeed here to talk policy. Nothing more, nothing less. Tell us what we need to know, and we'll be out of your hair right away!"
"We do not answer questions of traitors!" roared Mark. He spun to Eliza. "Eliza, go summon more guards, and quickly! I am afraid that if I lay a hand upon this man there will be nothing left of him!"
Astral Lance smiled. "I don't think you want to do that. I guess you do not realize just what kind of mages I've brought with me."
He looked at Aether. "Little kid, you said you'd cause bad luck, correct? Well, cause some for that Eliza girl! Don't let her get out of this room!" He then turned to Apollo. "Apollo, hold your voice. It will come in handy later." Finally, he looked to Elly. "Elly, that power you showed me, it's really interesting! Keep guard over Azriel and..." Astral Lance raised an eyebrow at Jericho. It was the man who had replaced his seat, and so he did not recognize him. "... and whoever that is!"
Astral Lance faced Mark alone. "You and I need to talk, my friend."
Mark simply sneered. "Never."
Jericho, on the other hand, made no indication that he was moving from his seat by the window.

”Hmm... I think I understand. Pa and ma didn't like my original career plan either... And they were quite happy when I took up magic instead.” Jupiter responded to Elrond, while still doing his best at ignoring Dofun, even though he was agreeing on him. ”Visitin' the council still sucks, though.” And so Jupiter gazed in to the distance as the city of Era started appearing in front of him and all he hoped was that this would be over quickly. It probably wouldn't, but from very different reason than what Jupiter expected. --- Elly's joke was lost on Aether. After hearing it all he did was stare her blankly for a moment trying to figure it out, but ultimately the joke turned out to be too clever for Aether's simple mind. If Apollo hadn't reversed his spell on Elly Aether would have bossed her around some more, this time he was planning to tell her to go bake him some cookies. --- Azriel did not like how Mark seemed to always get upset when ever he asked some questions. As if he should already know all of this. Astral had been a member before he had joined and Azriel wasn't interested in the past. However Astral somehow knew Azriel's name. Which really wasn't a big surprise for him. Who didn't know him? He was the super prodigy that had become an S-class mage, by the age of 14 and now had become a member of the magic council at age of 17. Moving on like this Azriel expected to be the magic council rank one before he turns 25. ”Yo. This bickering won't get anyone anywhere. Astral or whatever. What do ya exactly want from here? If ya were a councilman until a few months ago why didn't you just ask it back then.” Despite all that was going on Azriel was still very laid back and did not even leave his seat. He actually seemed more interested about what was going on than when they were discussing about Renascence a minute ago. ”No. That's not how it works.” Aether responded to Astral when he told him to cause Eliza bad luck. Misfortune was not actually his magic. But then what was? The immortality? No matter what it was Aether wasn't going to really do anything about Eliza and she would be free to go alert the guards unless someone else tried to stop here. Instead Aether seemed to just calmly try to ignore all this and walk past everyone in search for the one thing he cared about here in the magic council. The council's cafeteria.

When he got to Qi and her sheep, Druid took extra care to stare at the celestial spirit in an attempt to perceive something different or unique. Which was the odd thing, even to his advanced eyesight, the sheep portion appeared like a regular sheep, and the bat wings appeared like regular bat wings. As far as he could tell, they were really that. They weren't some illusion or anything, which was a possible theory before. His nose told him he was standing somewhere near a sheep and somewhere near a bat as well. How interesting.
But there was a unique scent.. one he never smelled before and was definitely coming from the celestial spirit. It was likely something from their dimension. Giving a great deal of concentration to it, druid memorized the scent and foc-
OH GOD. OH WHAT IS THAT. OH. OH NO. OOOOOOH.
Druid plugged his nose and took deep breaths in through his mouth and out through his nose, attempting to expel the disgusting scent his sensitive nose had just been violated with. The damned sheep had farted, which was interesting in and of itself because it implied the sheep had a gastro-intestinal system, but was absolutely disgusting.
Druid's sensitive nose went haywire momentarily, and Druid had no choice but to hurry up and move to the next person, swiping at his nose and breathing rapidly in an attempt to get rid of the scent.
It was at this time that an odd clown pinched his face. Fresh from the aggravation from the far attack, Druid moved to slap away the clown's hands just as they were about to honk his nose.
"You are far too close to me." Druid said it without emotion, a mere observation that he was uncomfortably close. So with an open palm, he pushed at the clown's chest, moving to push him away as he spoke in reply to the crazy rambling. "It's transformation magic, allows me to use features from any animal that I have studied. So what do you mean, you can mimic it? Do you have such an ability? Let me see." The clown's curiosity was mirrored by Druid's own. His previous annoyance with the target was instantly gone at the possibility of him having an interesting magic.
It was at this point that he smelled and really looked at the clown, memorizing his unique scent and appearance as well. He cringed a little at the scent. "You smell of many things. You touch too many things and people, and you seem to have all kinds of perfumes on you."

Qi was shocked at how focused Elrond was.
She always knew it was his dream to follow in his grandfather's footsteps, but she didn't think much about the nature of his grandfather's death. She felt uneasy, thinking Elrond might be in danger of dying as well.
The summoner felt ill even thinking of the possibility. She tried to expell the thought from her mind, but she found it difficult. Already, the guildmaster had been targeted for his odd magic. It wasn't odd to think it might happen again.
Qi made a promise to herself that she wouldn't let Elrond die, not only for his sake, but for the sake of the guild. As silly as he was, she couldn't imagine the guild without him.
Meanwhile, Sheep bleated and shook its cute fluffy tail.
---
"Our dear Astral Lance has a point, boy," Eliza said with a soft frown. "If we bring more guards here, they will only fall prey to that beast over there. Did you not hear the alluring song of the other creature?"
She clutched a decorative gumdrop on the arm of her throne and groaned, taking a while to come to a stand.
"Oh, the boy doesn't want to play with someone like me," she said solemnly. "I'm not the little girl you remember me to be. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to ask the men and women of our guard to evacuate while you all have your fun."
Eliza practically inched across the room, completely open for attack.
---
As Spider Thighs dug into his new treat, Apollo lowered his masquerade mask directly in front of Elly. Given her previous experience with Apollo's voice, she would find that his eyes were oddly alluring. They would pull her in like a vaccum and cloud her perception of her surroundings, including Spider Thighs' feast. As soon as it would finish, Apollo would pull his mask back on and Elly would be free.
The siren handed a piece of paper to Astral Lance, glancing slighly at Mark.
Do you need any assistance convincing this scum? it read.

Ian and Lakin hadn't spoken the entire trip. Lakin had actually found a way to fall asleep, his hair rustling slightly as the wind blew. Ian found himself checking up on the boy quite often, afraid that he would turn and fall of the rock as they flew though Lakin barely moved. Ian himself listened quietly as the others talked. He was growing more and more frustrated by some of them as they seemed more like children than Lakin himself.
He was particularly annoyed with the clown although Ian was never quite found of clowns. He wasn't even quite sure of his name mistaking it for Nofun instead of Dofun. As the clown continued his crying about the journey Ian finally broke his silence. “If you don’t want to go then I can throw you off. Otherwise quit whining.”
Ian glanced at Elrond as they flew. He didn't know how to feel about the guild master nor his guild. Sighing Ian took a quick look at the scene ahead of them. His gut was tightening knowing who he would see there. Anger was really the only emotion that Ian could feel at the moment.

Thanks to Apollo's consideration, Elly snapped out of the trance, and did as she was bidden by using the earplugs. The problem came though, when Astral tasked her with keeping guard of two of the magic council members. She had a feeling that she would have trouble doing so for even one of the guards outside, let alone actual council members, and Astral thought she could manage two.
"Elly, that power you showed me, it's really interesting! Keep guard over Azriel and... and whoever that is!"
Of course, while she was flattered that he thought so highly of her, she didn't want to fail and disappoint. Which, unfortunately, she felt was likely.
"Uh ok... but how?"
The best she figured she could do, was keep them in the room with her powers; if they tried to leave, she could maybe try to bring them back with her. Of course that meant she would actually have to grab ahold of them, and even worse, that they wouldn't resist. She didn't know much about them, so chances were they had some amazing powers that would immediately shut her down.
Fortunately though, it seemed neither of the people she was told to watch, seemed interested in leaving. Therefore her job was made a little easier, and she merely stood behind the others and kept a watchful eye out in case they tried to leave.

As Elrond, Qi, Jupiter, Druied, Ian and Lakin, and Dofun continued to fly towards the city of Era, none could imagine just what was going on inside the Magical Council HQ.
At their speed, they would make it to the building in less than half an hour.
Elrond waited.
Asmoday glanced at Qi. "Stirs your heart," she muttered, speaking of Elrond's story. "I didn't think people like this existed. Before, when I was in... Atrum... I thought the world was dark and empty and Crockus would bring light back. But now I know that was wrong."
Asmoday placed a hand on her chest and looked down. "I know what I've done in the past is wrong, and I do not expect you to accept this, Qi, but... I'm sorry. I'm sorry for all I did to you and your Guild."
---
Azealya Thorn sat at the very back of the flying rock. Though she had heard Elrond's story, she didn't take it to heart and she was sickened that anyone around could actually appreciate Elrond's cause.
But one thing was for sure. She had her own cause. Her own reason. And as far as she was aware, it was sitting right here in front of her. Asmoday. The mother of all. The creator of the original Oracion Seis. No, there was more to her than just that.
She looked in the distance at the Magical Council HQ. If all was going to plan, Astral Lance was in there right now, getting the last piece of the puzzle... the information they needed. The information she needed to become whole again.
And so, she waited.
---
Astral Lance looked from Aether to Elly then back again with a dumbfounded face. "You guys can't be serious." He smacked his face. "You were brought to me to become my loyal companions! You were supposed to be... I don't know... powerful? Powerful enough to at least stop a few measly mages! And Aether! What the heck are you even? At least Elly destroyed some tunnels but all you've done is eat ice cream! That's it! When this is said and done, you're all fired! Except you, Apollo. Spider Thighs can stay too."
Then, a punch shot through the air and Astral Lance ducked it just in time.
"LISTEN TO ME WHEN I'M TALKING TO YOU!" bellowed Mark. His arm was glowing bright blue and appeared to have some kind of aural armor to it. "You expect me to sit still while you babble so carefree? Never!"
Astral Lance raised his hands. "Easy fella. We'll get to that in a moment." He glanced at Azriel. "To answer your question, it's not that simple. Being a member of the Magical Council is not enough to achieve the knowledge I seek. The only person who carries the key to what I want," he pointed at Mark, "is this man. Rank number 1."
"What type of knowledge would someone like you seek?" scoffed Mark. "Whatever it is, I will not hand it over! This I swear!"
Astral Lance chuckled and nudged Apollo. "He swears, he says. Funny, huh?" Glancing down at Apollo's note, he grinned. "Sure, this is why I brought you out here after all. Earbuds pals," he said to Aether and Elly. "Apollo, sing us a song."
Mark wasn't sure what was going on nor what Astral Lance planned, but he wasn't going to let it happen. Raising his fist he jumped through the air, aiming straight for Apollo before he could open his mouth.
Jericho, on the other hand, hadn't moved from his chair. No, he was looking outside, for a small dot had appeared in the sky and was growing larger with every second.

Aether was not bothered by the fact that he got fired. Not that he was paid anything anyway. Maybe Astral had a bit too high of expectations from a 100 year old kid without a brain who spends his days doing little more than munching sweets. ”I am me. That is what I am. And this is not ice cream. They're donuts.” And with that Aether was gone and moved on in his quest for the council cafeteria. ”Hahahahahahahahahaa...” Azriel found all this very amusing when Astral's great plan all fell through because of his less than stellar subordinates, who he ended up firing on the spot. Not only that he clearly hadn't thought this all through; if he wanted information from the rank 1 of the council he would have been better asking it before he left and basically told everyone to get bent. ”Yo. Is this guy just an idiot or is this some kind of comedy routine to brighten up this dull meeting? Either way these guys are hilarious.” And so Azriel continued laughing without a care in the world. Even if these guys were an enemy no way someone so incompetent would posses any real threat.

Hugging onto Sheep like a doll, Qi looked more like a child than she ever had. She leaned on her, almost falling asleep on her comfortable fluffy wool. Her eyes opened wide when Asmoday addressed her.
"Asmoday," she sighed with a smile, "you saved my life from that strange jar. That's more than enough to make up for what you did."
Qi waved her arm at her, moving her hand up and down.
"You were in a bad place back then. If you and I had traded places, I don't think I would have been any different from you. The fact that you were able to get out of that dark place is inspiring to say the least. You don't have to apologize, Asmoday. You never have. But for what it's worth, thank you."

When Apollo heard that Astral Lance was firing Elly and NOT Spider Thighs, his mouth dropped. He gestured with his hands, trying to convey to Astral Lance that he disagreed with him, but it only came out as random flailing.
He frowned terribly when he then commanded to manipulate Mark. He could control normal mages easily enough, but the stronger they were, they harder it got, especially when they went to punch the living daylights out of him.
Apollo threw his hands up in a pitiful attempt to block Mark's punch. Instead, Casandra, the woman working for the siren, stepped in front of him, taking the full force of the punch. She was knocked out instantaneously.
As Casandra fell to the ground, time seemed to slow down. Apollo pulled his long shimmering white hair from his pony tail. Each strand flowed through the air like ripples in a wave. He removed his masquerade mask, revealing his cold eyes, deep like a dark well. They were magnetizing, impossible for most mages to avert their gaze from. He was beautiful, not though in any sort of sexual way, and even though he was furious, his face did not wrinkle. Over all, he was something impossible to comprehend.
Glaring hatefully at Mark, he began to sing.
To those with earplugs, it would sound like the winds of a raging storm. It was terrifying, the sound of his voice booming like crashing thunder. It was as harsh as a scream but as dazzling as a symphony.
For those who would be unfortunate (or blissfully ignorant) to hear the lyrics, they would understand it as a ruthless lecture on how pitiful and worthless Mark was. The context was as though everyone he ever knew or loved was telling him he was nothing to them. Mark needed Apollo’s approval. He would desperately want it, maybe even beg for it. The others succumbing to the spell would feel overwhelming depression and lack of self worth.
Of course, it would only work against Mark if Apollo’s magic overwhelmed his will. Judging by status alone, the 1st ranked council member would be the best person in the room to fight it. However, Apollo’s emotions were more intense than they had been in years. They pushed the effects of his magic to a ridiculous level. Even those wearing the specially made earplugs would find it hard to resist him.
Throwing his hand back, he went to slap Mark. He was no stronger than the average human, but if his magic worked, the slap would be the most emotionally devastating thing the council member would ever experience.

Eliza stopped in her place by an exit door. Apollo's voice brought her to a halt, making her look back the situation with her sad, beady eyes. She looked as though she was about to cry.
"Master Validus," she muttered, wiping away a single tear.
