If you can come up with an RP and have at least 3 people join you, I will give you your own section and make you mod over that section.

I don't think there's a limit on the site, it's the members.
If you know a good way to get more people around here though, that would definitely help.

Yeah, for sure, if you want to invite some of your other forum rpers to this forum, it is fine with me.

Here's a few things to remember Ravensly:
1) we are not a business. We aren't here to get more members and conquer the world. We're here to have fun with each other because we're friends. Any argument you have about "supply and demand" becomes useless when you realize that, aside from you, there is very little demand going on right now. There are certain things we may *want* (I've missed generic fantasy RP ever since my D&D group broke up), but so far you're the only member who isn't OK with waiting.
1.a) I would also like to point out that so far, every member that posts regularly is an older member of the group. NONE of the new people that have shown up (of which there are like two, I think) have posted outside of their introduction threads, if they have posted at all.
2) We have very few members that actually RP. Off hand I can think of six or seven of us at most that actually participate often, ten or so if you count the people who only show up once in a while (like myself, Rinji, mise, etc.). That may be a majority of the posting members here, but that is still a very small number for any forum. Not a number that requires more mods to RP, as anyone can start threads with hito, CJ, or shark's approval, and not a number that can sustain more RP threads than we have going now, especially because...
3) A lot of us have lives outside of RP which makes being in multiple threads at once very very difficult. A lot of us are college students or have jobs (or both!) and need to focus on the real world more than the digital one. Hell I'm in four threads right now (five if you count ponies...I WANT THAT TO LIVE DAMMIT) and I have a real problem trying to balance that many RPs with school, life, family, friends, and other things that happen when I'm not here on the forums. Just because you "do this all the time" doesn't mean the rest of us have the free time too.
That's just my two cents.

But yeah, I agree with you and great points.
I however wouldn't mind additional members joining the forum. The manga sections and sections other than the RP are in need of a bit more activity. I'd love to see more discussion in those other sections.
And in the end, this forum will always be based on the views of the original 20 or so members who made the journey from OPHQ to here.

I would love to see new people joining the forum, it just hasn't seemed to happen yet. Anyone who does join either stops posting ASAP or was already an old buddy of the group to begin with. If we can get new people to join *and* become regular members, I'd be happy as a clam that isn't surrounded by salt everywhere.

To be honest I just don't know how to advertise the forum. I have no idea how Shanks did it with OPHQ. That forum exploded in activity. I guess he had a website to help him out though. Not going to that extent to get members though, haha.
But off topic now, sorry

Manga Blast RP.
We each play a member other than ourselves.
THINK ABOUT IT.

You know, you seemed to be contradicting yourself a bit there Ticky. You claim that we're all "friends" yet you seemed to just be bashing my ideas for no reason. You also seemed to be taking me a bit too literally. My pointing out the rule of economics was just an analogy, obviously, and I am fully aware that this is not a business.
And just because that hasn't happened yet doesn't mean it couldn't happen in the future. Like I said, you won't know if you don't even try. Finally, if being in that many threads is too much for someone, then they can just not join them all. There's no rule that everyone who is RPing has to join every one the site has.
And even the thing with the fantasy RP was just a suggestion. My main point was that I think we should expand the RP section with an additional long-term RP. I simply presented the fantasy idea as one option for doing that, mostly just because, like I said, its a staple genre used in these kinds of sites.
I hope that that clears up the confusion on what I meant, and that everyone can stop bashing me now.

Well if you want to start one Ravensly you can try. Just make a thread in this section detailing what your idea is supposed to be about, and to attract people. That is allowed, at the very least.
If you get enough players, I don't see why you wouldn't be allowed to start it. I mean who am I to say whether or not you the idea will work if you actually get people wanting to play.
That's just how I see it.

I'm not bashing your ideas, I'm merely stating my own opinion. Just because it contradicts yours doesn't mean I'm "bashing" you, it just means I disagree with you. If friends can't voice their own honest opinions around each other then they aren't real friends. If anything you are the one contradicting yourself, saying that I take your analogies too literally and then reading far too much into what I have said.
I never once said that every RPing member has to join every RP thread, what I said was that the members who DO RP are currently busy with the ones we have. I was using myself as an example, and I'm certainly not in all of the threads here. But I am in most of them, because as I stated before we only have so many members to begin with.
Hito has said multiple times in this thread that there really isn't much room for another long-running RP here, and I agree with him. We have a lot of them, and every member we have that has the kind of dedication to stick to a long-running RP is already in most, if not all of the threads. This is why I keep saying that we don't have enough people for another long-running RP, everyone who is willing and able is already tied up with the ones we have.
When it comes down to it, we just don't have the numbers to get another epic RP going. If you won't believe me because I'm "bashing" you, then just look at how many people have agreed that they want to join another long-running RP. So far, no one has responded positively to the idea.
So, yeah...my two cents again. I also agree with Hito that we need more people posting in other areas, not just the RP, but that is neither here nor there.

Wow, I didn't know this discussion was going on until now. Sorry for not posting sooner.
Anyway, suggestions for RPG's are always valid. A high fantasy RPG might be something cool. It is something I have missed since my table top RPG, as with ticky's, broke up some years ago. Again, if you can get two or more people who really want to do it, I don't see why it wouldn't be possible.
Unfortunately, as ticky has pointed out, there probably won't be any want for one in a while. We've got a lot of threads going on (Making Up For Lost Time doesn't count) so people are going to be extremely busy. But you should make a thread in case there is ever an opening.
And... apparently Ponies are back. Huh. Obviously Hito had something to do with that... UNLESS THE SHEER WILL OF THE UNDYING HAS SUMMONED IT FROM ITS GRAVE.
Anyway, when I have a bit more time this weekend (and I'm not sitting in the middle of TDKR morning showing, yeeeee), I would like to work with Rinji on solidifying an introductory arc for the characters we have already established. As with Adventure Time, Ponies should not be taken that seriously, but I do believe it can work.
