Yeah I think that would work well, but we'd need still need a limit to what exactly the supernatural element does within the setting. Like, if we focused on ghosts rather than immortal elixirs, we'd have to decide just what a ghost is capable of, whether there are spirit mediums who can use ghostly energy to their advantage. For that matter, what kind of undead things exist besides ghosts, if any? Can voodoo priestesses make zombies? Do vampires stalk the nights?
...Actually if we do the focus on ghosts and spirits, I think setting it in New Orleans would be so fucking perfect it hurts.

Oh man, a New Orleans ghost story crime story would be the best thing any of us have ever done. And then we can have voodoo and all that cool stuff. Anyways, I don't think the undead should have too much sway, and, like I said, would mostly be there in the background, interacting with the characters in mostly subtle ways. Or actually, focusing more on the supernatural could be pretty sweet as well. I'll leave that part up to you guys.
And just throwing this out there, if we do go for the ghost story idea, a huge gunfight in a haunted mansion needs to happen at some point.
Also, I liked an idea CJ mentioned in the chat, when it was still a Baccano! RP, where she mentioned some kind of mystery aspect to it. I think it would be really cool if someone in the story was a murderer/rail tracer/other, and we would have to figure out who it is.

Yes to all the things. ALL THE THINGS.
I do think we've got something good formulating here.

>My face when ticky doesn't know what a Chicago typewriter is
On a separate note, if this were to take place I'd be more interested in a large city rather than New Orleans, despite what that city is capable of in terms of supernaturality.
Also I guess no one likes superpower shoe games?

Uh, New Orleans IS a rather large city, Shark.

Oh hurr. You mean the gun. I am not at my best today.
...Better yet. A typewriter that turns into a gun. IT SHOOTS THE TRUTH.
And yeah, even back then New Orleans was pretty big, and its reputation as a hub for crime and debauchery was started around that era, I think. As I recall it was a big city for smugglers because of its proximity to lots of watery passages to other areas inland.
As for Kicks...depends on how you spin it. I can see it being something really upbeat and fun, which would be a good contrast to this dark murder mystery that seems to be forming.

Uh, New Orleans IS a rather large city, Shark. Not Chicago big, and not the same history or character. Wait why am I replying you know what I meant. At least I hope you did. I'm not stupid Kylor, I know New Orleans has always been a big city. That's not what I meant.

I disagree with New Orleans. I would suggest Chicago... though it's not like I'm terribly close to that city or anything.
I like that supernatural aspect, almost like with the demon RPG that was going on in MG before. Since it would likely be a mystery setting, we wouldn't have to worry terribly much about statistics or fighting or what not.
Also, if someone chooses a vampire, I swear to sweet goodness, if it sparkles, my character will hunt it down.

There is literally not any other way to do it. We made the system with the idea that you could literally pick it up with no prior knowledge of it, and within five minutes have a compliment of characters and start playing.

MY LITTLE PONY RP.
No, seriously, hear me out here. We've all joked about it on the chat box. Hell, we already have the basic ideas for three characters: CJ the earth pony, Rinji the pegasus pony, and me, ticky, as the wonderful unicorn pony whose talent is ADVENTURRRRE.
But besides that there are tons of other "races" within the MLP universe. Cows, donkeys, dragons, zebras, gryphons, mules (oh my gods the scandal), all have shown up in the show, and who knows what other sentient species might show up later on. We don't have to follow MLP like the mindless bronies that debate about the ratio of male to female ponies in Equestria; if we want to make a parody we can, and if we want to do something disturbingly serious using a kid's show as a setting, we can do that too. There's plenty of wiggle room, especially considering how the entire world works on the "it's magic, deal with it" principle.
To those of you who think I'm crazy, just...just watch the first two episodes of season two. The show is marketed to young girls, yes, but there is appeal there for a much wider audience if you just try not to think about the small, extremely vocal group of crazy fans. The world itself is pretty much primed for making up your own characters for it, too.
Basically it'd be a fun, lighthearted thing to do in contrast to the dark comedic setting of Fallout, the gritty reimagining of the Grand Path, and the OPRP filled with freaks, geeks, and a bird girl in a poncho.
I'm done being crazy for now. Adieu, fillies and gentlecolts.

While I would definitely play the My Little Pony RPG, I also have a small suggestion.
Now, stay with me on this one.
I think The Legend of Zelda would be a GREAT Roleplaying Game. I mean think about it, has there ever really been a videogame version of a Zelda in RPG format? If there has, please tell me. But not from what I've seen, and it has so much potential to be one!
I mean the lore and the intrigue are already there, there just needs to be someone to unveil the beautiful fossil of its existence! I'm not saying that we should have a Link, a Zelda, or a Ganondorf character or anything, but I think having Original Characters in the land of Hyrule would be a fun ride for anyone.
Just a thought.

Sounds interesting. I know very little about Zelda, but I'm not opposed to something like this.

It would really depend on what version of Hyrule you're looking at, too. Because there's like fifteen different ones. And let's not even get started on the MULTIPLE TIMELINES all happening at once.
I'm most familiar with Ocarina of Time/Majora Mask's Hyrule myself, but that's not saying much.

I've only played Link to the Past, and some of Majora's Mask.
Though if we were to do an RP, I'd probably prefer to have it take place in the sort of games like Windwaker, Spirit Tracks, etc... with the more cartoony style.

Majora's Mask is the best Zelda game. It is the only game you need to play. /diehardfan
As much as I would love to playing a My Little Pony RPG, because I am your Pony Loving Leader, but I feel a Zelda one would be more appropriate.
It would satisfy the need for a fantasy setting. There could still be magic and adventure involved in it, and more people would be familiar with the world.
I couldn't respond to this topic earlier this morning but I was actually thinking of a premise for the RP.
Link and Zelda have failed to kill Ganondorf at the end of Ocarina of Time. They were turned to stone by the goddesses in an attempt to keep Ganondorf from obtaining the rest of the Triforce and hidden far away in the Sacred Realm.
A Hylian (or possibly last Shiekah) from Kakariko town takes it upon themselves to gather a team to recover the Medallions and save the re-captured Sages.
We could expand on already established areas like the Lost Woods and Death Mountain to create new environments the N64 game did not replicate.
The goal would be to recover the lost Medallions and save the captured Sages. Ganondorf and his minions (possible NPC's) could try and stop them along the way.
But that's just a suggestion.
