For the Fallout RPG, i'm planning to make my character a mobile merchant of sorts. Perhaps when one has enough bottle caps, one could buy items (weapons/armor, no supplies) from him? He ain't handing out anything for free. Does that sound okay?

I'll kill you and take it for free, does that sound ok?
lol but seriously, once we figure out which game we're gonna do, I think we can get an idea of how to do the SPECIAL system.

I say we use Fallout 3. The story of Fallout New Vegas, I think, was all about factions. That was, almost, the entire story. I think Fallout 3 has more potential.

Well I do think that the factions could give more creativity for the characters, considering the differing viewpoints that could arise/difficult issues they'd have to decide upon.
But the normal Fallout 3 is also more directed I think, so it'd be easier for everyone to work together towards something.
Again, I could go either way.

I say having a direction is more important. And if a player did want to have a character that came from a New Vegas faction, I think that should be fine.

I'm just gonna come in here to say that I like the idea that Shark through out there for a DnD type rp (being a DnD player myself). And I'm down for a Fallout RP sounds enjoyable.

Hehe, well I don't think we could have people in DC having come from west, at least not as far west as California and Arizona, especially with the war going on. But we can be pretty open with the characters, no question. --- As to what newb was saying, yeah I can totally run legit RPGs like DnD, Exalted, World of Darkness, GURPS, etc... I'm pretty familiar with allot of those systems which use character sheets, game mechanics and are based on dice and rolling.

They take a little bit of understanding to get into/get a hang of, but once you do it's quite interesting because you have to prepare your character accordingly, and because allot of things rely on dice rolls, not everything goes your way all the time. You have to deal with the good and the bad.
---
On a separate note, something I wanted to say earlier but forgot to in relation to a possible Elder Scrolls/Skyrim game; in terms of deciding on Dragonborn players, we could have it not be known until a dragon is actually slain. Similar to the idea for the Bioshock game, at the start of a Skyrim RP we'd have everyone select a random number for however many people were playing. Then at the time of the first dragon slaying we'd have a designated person randomly roll a dice, and depending on what the dice roll matched the random number picked of a player, that person would be revealed to be Dragonborn. Could be done with more than one person.
Just my two cents.

Sounds good. Of course, I Remind others that not all shouters are Dragonborn. Ulfric can shout and he is not DB or a very old studious hermit. This isn't spoilers, its guard gossip.

Right right. I would imagine we would need at least one Dragonborn though, in order for the story to actually take place, being that it's all tied in with destiny and all that.
I'd lol if like, one of the softspoken, demure characters turned out to be the only Dragonborn, and all the other characters basically just pull them around by the arm the whole time "Come on man, this is your destiny!" and forcing them into the adventure.

I agree that we should definitely do Fallout 3 rather than New Vegas. It definitely sounds a lot more usable as an RPG. Also, I agree we should try a dice system. If you could help us figure out how that would work, Shark, we could eventually start using it for other RPG's too.
---
Actually that's a great idea for the Skyrim RPG! Picking out the Dragonborn randomly that is. It sort of reminds me of the Rocks Fall, We All Die RPG where the players didn't know what powers their characters had until a given time.
We could start the game in the midst of a dragon attack at Whiterun and then determine the Dragonborn at the end of it. That would actually be really fun.
