Fallout 3 Story Discussion
So, what are you guys opinion on where the story should start, how it should start, and where it should go? No need to get overly complicated and plan too far ahead. Part of the fun is seeing where things go on their own. But I do think we need a starting point.
As I have stated in another thread, we should start outside of Megaton, as in the game. I think this location has the benefit of letting plenty of different types of characters meet in a realistic location. Megaton more or less is in the center of the map. That is a good place to start.
As for story, I am not sure if we should immediately start with the water problem, or something else entirely.

Same as what we do for any of these RPs, one or two people need to be the main characters; that is, come from Vault 101, and possibly be related to Dad. It just makes everything easier for us to fit into place with the story, give us direction, and maintain a steady footing in the setting.
As for how it starts, I'm pretty much in accordance with Hito, even if we don't live in Megaton, we should all start out there. Whether one character is stopping by with a caravan, one is on a pilgrimage, one is trying to hide from slavers, one is emerging from a Vault for the first time, whatever. It just starts with them all there, or arriving there. From there we can actually build relationships and decide on what to do after that.

Although I believe that direction is important, I don' think that we should stick too closely to be main story/side quests of the game, aluough there's nothing wrong with doing some of those delicious side quests and going maybe along the same path of the story location-wise and NPC-wise, lkd the water problem.Let's have some sort of wacky-realistic adventures of our own. Fallout is a great setting for it.
And yeah, Megaton outside sounds good.

Well that's what I was thinking of, that at least at first we use Megaton as a starting hub, and people can team up and go on different quests or to different places if they so please, as in, we don't need to all move as one group.
Still though, I didn't mean that we hug the main story by including a Vault dweller, the idea is just that as long as one person is of the cannon storyline, we have the option of pursuing that story if we wish.

Yeah, I agree with Shark. If one person does choose to be a Vault dweller, they can be one. But we don't necessarily need to have one.

Ahem, don't mean to rush anything, but we seemed pretty gung-ho about this a few days ago?

I think its just that everyone is focusing on the One Piece RP. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but a Fallout RP would be nice.

Yeah, you guys can decide who should be the moderator for this RP. I do not know much about statistics and have not finished enough of Fallout 3 in order to run the RP. If you want this thing to work, you guys have to take the action.

I vote Hito then for mod, as I'm not all too familiar with Fallout 3.

Yeah, I have New Vegas, not Fallout 3, so if Hito has Fallout 3, then he can be the mod.

Yeah, sometime later today I'll work on the character sheet and stuff. I'll see what I can do.

Cool, while I'm not really up for being mod of this, I'd be glad to help in whatever ways I can, character sheet, world making, statistics for weapons or enemies, whatever.
Like I said, I'm more familiar with New Vegas, but I've still played Fallout 3, and know a fair amount of it.

Just letting everyone know, I was in the process of making the character page yesterday and the post was lost. But I am working on it again at this very moment.
I'll post it in this thread before making a thread for it so people can tell me if they think things should be changed or added
