Cruckus showed no real emotion as his diamond lance was slammed into the ground by the young mage. He watched the tip break off and sighed. “You’re quite smart aren’t you. Doesn’t matter that it isn’t real diamond it’s still quite strong.” Before Cruckus could mount another attack the young mage had already continued his assault by throwing the diamond tip at Cruckus. Dodging it easily he was slightly surprised by when the Puck appeared in front of him.
Cruckus took several of the attacks straight on before leaping slightly back and allowing several diamond spikes to erupt from his body towards Puck. Without waiting to even see if the attack landed Cruckus recalled the spikes before leaping into the air. Quickly he covered his entire body with diamond and rolled himself into a ball. Soaring straight downward towards Puck, Cruckus looked like a diamond covered cannonball ready to smash his opponent into the ground.
-----
West was watching the fight between Cruckus and Dofun and Puck with some interest. He was especially trained on Cruckus, his eyebrows raised slightly as if the man was an oddity that didn’t belong. West was snapped back to reality by Elrond’s voice. He hadn’t noticed that Elrond almost used his magic but watched as he hid himself away stating that he didn’t like to attack woman.
Scratching the back of his head West sighed slightly. ”I gu-guess if-if I have to-to fight her I wi-will,” West stated, his words barely audible. Stepping forward West met his gaze with that of the woman, his eyebrows perking up once more as if the woman was not meant to be. Shrugging West took his fighting stance, his right arm down at his side and his left extended out in front of him. Slowly small puffs of what appeared to be smoke started to rise from West’s body. Slowly the smoke swirled in front of West’s left hand. Without warning the smoke shot forward like a bullet aiming to smash the woman in the chest.
Not waiting for the attack to actually hit West disappeared in a puff of smoke before reappearing behind the woman, the smoke that had risen from his body now forming a sword. Quickly West slashed at the woman’s arm.

"Not talk?! Well what else am I supposed to do during fights? Fight?!"
He had been ready to dodge the incoming blow when Puck came in and returned the favor in record time. The clown laughed as the friendly friend fought with Cruckus in his place.
"Well, I can't really reveal my name until all of the characters are together, can I? Otherwise, I would have to say it over and over and over again! And thank you! You're not so bad yoursel-"
When he saw Cruckus not make any reaction to Puck's repeated punches and kicks, he paused.
"...Well, thanks anyway. Alrighty then, let's finish this with a bang!" The pseudo-diamond on his hammer's business end grew and grew, turning into one bloated, shiny pseudo-diamond mass. The hammer almost fell to the ground and Dofun looked rather silly when he tried to keep it from doing so. Eventually, he looked at the incoming Kruckusball and knew what he had to do. He swung the hammer back...and then hit the incoming mass of unappreciative criticism with his behemoth of a hammer as if he actually had enough strength to even raise his weapon now more massive-then other.
Perhaps baseball season was in this week.

Puck frowned as Cruckus leapt back, his attacks seemingly having no effect. Well, that's what he got for not fighting with his magic. Assuming a heroic pose, Puck pointed at the sun.
"Time to start fighting seriously. I'm Puck Mayvil the- HEY!"
Panicking, the martial mage leapt back just in time to avoid being skewered too badly by Cruckus's diamond spikes. He managed to back off with a couple bloody scratches on his arms and face. Cringing slightly at the sting, Puck watched as Cruckus immediately jumped into the air and came plummeting down as a diamond ball.
"...Well, thanks anyway. Alrighty then, let's finish this with a bang!"
"Agreed!"
With a grin, Puck slid out of the way of Cruckus's plummet and instead jumped as high up as he could just above where he had just been standing. As the clown struck Cruckus back up with his enlarged diamond hammer, Puck brought both of his fists up and together.
"As I was saying...I'm Puck Mayvill and I'm..."
As Puck brought his fists down in a traditional and rather brutal haymaker at the ascending diamond ball, green flames suddenly shot from his fists, acting like a boost as they further accelerated down aiming to strike Cruckus brutally straight down onto the unforgiving concrete.
"...The Dream Dragon Slayer! Dream Dragon's Lucid Spike!"
As the green flames continued to spread, streaks of bright vivid colors shot off from them in a manner akin to fireworks, the flames covered Puck's fists as they descended to meet Cruckus, their shadows inside the flame almost looking like miniature dragon claws balled together like an imitation of a human. The young mage's teeth noticeably became slightly sharper.

"You two go on ahead, I'm not that great fighting... women... Go on now. Don't worry about me, haha..."
"Alden, it's just Alden. Wait, you can't hit a chick? It's not like she isn't dangerous, she's swinging around sword... things, even."
He watched the others all jump into the fight without a care in the world, and while he had nothing against enthusiasm, he never just walked into a fight blind. But they all had, and he was with them at least for now, so he didn't have much a choice. He'd wanted to go for the big fellow (and see if his was a power worth nabbing), but their chivalrous leaded instructed him to take on the woman because he himself was apparently incapable.
"Two against one, hmm? That's not very nice! I am just a lady after all. But if you must, then I should warn you that this won't end well for either of you. You might not ever be the same again..."
"Well, you did challenge us in the first place... sort of. Anyway, don't write checks with your mouth that your ass can't cash."
Pushing his helmet up a bit so that it wasn't hanging in his face during the fight, Alden took the round wooden shield from his back and drew forth the broadsword hanging from his side. It looked like he was a more conventional fighter than most of the others, and fighting against the woman with the two large needles would hopefully be a straight up melee fight. It had been awhile since he'd been in one of those.
"Huh, nice trick. Look out behind you!"
As he walked across the street to the sewing woman, he watched the skittish fellow vanish into a puff of smoke and reappear behind her. Rather than taking the chance and just dashing in to cut her a new one, he watched on, a little impressed by the display. While he didn't have any hang ups about beating her up when the time came though, he wasn't just about to trash her in an outnumbered fight. Especially not when his teammate was teleporting around like that.
Instead he just stood by waiting for his chance to show up, swinging his sword around in preparation and offering a friendly warning to the woman about West's sudden feat.

Elrond was amazed at his Guild's power so far. He didn't expect just a few random mages to be so powerful. He thought about joining in and taking on the large guy, but the others were taking care of him fine. Still, he gave a few words of encouragement.
"I don't know who you guys are, but this is Renascence! We can be a Guild just as you can!"
---
Sarah, although outnumbered, seemed unfazed at the two men ready to do battle with her. She scraped her two huge sewing needles against each other in rapid speeds, creating sparks that shot all around. She licked her lips, ready for the first attack.
West was the one who attacked. Using some kind of smoke magic, he shot out a bullet from it. Using her sewing needles, she, almost instantly, threaded together a thick blanket, strong enough to stop the bullet.
However, creating the blanket shield blocked her view from West, and in a puff of smoke he popped up behind her. She quickly spun around, stabbing one of her needles towards West, but not without getting a slash across her arm first.
In the chaos, she also swung her right hand towards Alden. Dozens of super small, but very sharp needles went flying out, ready to pierce him. What Alden might not know if that each needle was coated with her sewing magic, and if any one needle pierced him, she would be able to mostly control that part of his body, like a puppet on a string.
"I haven't forgotten you either!"
---
Back at the empty plot of land which was the Renascence Guild, Atrum was watching in amazement as a girl emerged from the pack on the Horse's back. She looked a lot younger than she actually was, but magic seemed to flow all around her.
"You're a special one," said Atrum, smiling, a rare thing for her. "What is your name? No, wait, that isn't important. You should be identified by your magic."
She then took a step back and looked at Jupiter and John, both who seemed uninterested in the current happenings. She then called out to all of them at once. "Listen, all of you. There is a Guild not far away from here called Atrum, named after myself. It is the strongest Guild in these parts, and my Master would enjoy having all of you added to his collection."
She looked back at the girl. "You have only one opportunity. Join us, or not, it is your choice. But make the right one. Show up tomorrow at this same spot. I'll be here."

"I haven't forgotten you either!"
"Well that's nice, just trying to lend a helping hand is all. Never liked fair fights myse- whoah!"
Standing by, Alden misread the situation and pushed his helmet up again, responding to the seamstress in the fashion he thought she was addressing him. It wasn't until too late did he notice the barrage of needles coming his way, and haphazardly raised his shield with a resounding plink-plink-plink as the needles embedded themselves in the wooden surface. Though he had managed to block most of them, a stray needle did happen to pierce his tattered pants and jab him in the leg. He didn't seem to notice though, at least not from the pain given the suddenness of it all and having to defend himself.
"Try to be nice... fine! Have it your way!"
Winding his arm back and taking on a stance as though he were chucking a frisbee or a discus, he promptly hurled his broadsword at the seamstress, grunting from the effort as he let it fly. The sword itself was pretty ordinary, and though it was of a pretty decent size he did manage to hurl it pretty well, the weapon spinning like a boomerang as it went. It seemed odd to be tossing what appeared to be his primary weapon at her, but he seemed to have something in mind. All the while of course, he didn't seem to notice the needle hanging from his leg, something which would obviously come back to bite him.

Cruckus couldn’t see what was happening, but he felt it. Felt it crack his diamond armor and burn through the cracks and sear his skin. Quickly he unfurled himself and landed with a thud upon the ground. The diamond armor around his midsection had broken off and a large patch of burnt skin was very visible, streaks of steam and smoke rising from it’s area. Staggering back to his feet Cruckus shook his head before stopping suddenly, his eyes seemingly glazing over. “Of course,” Cruckus said as if responding to someone not there. Without another word to either of the mages that he was facing Cruckus turned to look at Sarah. He said nothing to her but motioned slightly with his head as if telling her to leave. It didn’t even bother him that Sarah probably didn’t see him do such a thing as he knew that she would follow.
Turning quickly away from Puck and Dofun, Cruckus started on his way back towards the main part of town.
-------
West was a bit startled when Sarah quickly responded to his attack, luckily it didn’t effect him to long as he was able to bring up a shield of smoke at Sarah’s sewing needle. Though he didn’t block it completely he was able to catch it before it pierced his chest. Landing on his feet West quickly took a few steps back from the mage, a slight bit of blood coming from his chest. Raising an eyebrow West looked at Sarah as she started to attack Alden. He had hoped that his magic would effect her. It was his goal to tire her out so he hadn’t used any of the other effects of his magic. But he was sure that he had hit her. His face full of curiosity West whisked away, appearing beside Elrond. Not even noticing that Alden had been hit he was now fully focused on Sarah and her giant friend.
Noticing Cruckus leaving West spoke up, speaking to Elrond. ”Th-they are odd. Oddi-oddities,” West said glancing quickly at the man in the cape.

Puck grinned in satisfaction as he landed in a crouched position. The fragments of diamond armor fell to the ground making a light musical tinkling. As he stood, his now claw-like hands were still wreathed in the animate and colorful emerald flames. Throwing his head back he gave a great roar of victory as Cruckus began walking away.
"YAHOOOO!! Take that 'Atrum'. Don't mess with Renascence- eh?"
The Dragonslayer was a bit confused to see Cruckus's face seemingly go deadpan as the large mage began walking away as if in a hypnotic stupor. Puck scratched at his head as the flames on his arms went out, he looked at Dofun and shrugged.
"Good job out there, I guess. We sure showed him!"
Puck turned and waved at Elrond, a triumphant grin spreading across his face.
"Enemies whipped, Guild Master!"

Somewhat relieved that the situation had diffused without any sort of effort, John lowered his hands. At the same time, though, he felt just a bit disappointed. He had wanted a chance to show off what he could do. By this point, he was ready to give up on searching for a good guild, seeing as there seemed to be no actual representatives of Renascence at it's own location, and one of the few perplexed people that were there had tried to kill them, but then Atrum recommended an alternative guild. That was good enough to get John's interest. But first, he had to acknowledge the girl who came with Horse.
"Nope. No relation. I was just about to go on my way, really. Sorry to bother you, Mr. Horse."
He waved an arm dismissively, and turned his focus onto Atrum. In a way, this woman was even stranger than the girl and the horse giant and the Renascence guild which John was starting to suspect didn't even exist. For one thing, seeing as the Atrum guild was named after Atrum herself, one would assume that she was the leader, but she constantly referred to some other Master. Why wouldn't the guild just be named after him? Also, it seemed a bit unusual that someone would come with orders to kill, and then lower her weapons after only a few words were shared. And then John was offered a place in this murderous guild, for no apparent reason at all. A normal person wouldn't be too particularly interesting in going back to meet someone from a group that wantonly goes about attacking people from rival groups without even anything as trivial as a discernible motive, but considering John's former career, this was all something to be expected. Heck, he wasn't ready to give up guild searching just yet, and why would he waste such a good opportunity?
"The strongest guild, huh? Sorry, I don't know if you saw that sign over there, but that position seems to be taken. Unless there are two strongest guilds, and I'm not sure that's really the case here. I can't say I'm keen on being added to another man's 'collection,' but if you've got work for me, I'll hear your pitch. This spot, huh? I'll see if I can show."
And that was another thing. Why would Atrum arrange a meeting in another guild's turf, rather than their own base? It all followed no real sense of logic, which was even more troubling to John. If he could at least make some sense of it, then it would be much easier for him to dismiss as a waste of time and go home. But now, he just had to return, if only to confirm that he was really hearing what he thought he heard, and perhaps possible gain some small understanding.

"Identified by my magic? Collection?" Xing Qi asked quietly. She seemed to understand Atrum's statements as something casual like "I like apples." "Please let me down, Horse."
"Yes, Master."
The Horse Giant moved his arms awkwardly to remove Xing Qi from his pack and carefully set her on the ground before him. Her leg quivered as she balanced herself on her walking cane. She seemed like a confident young woman, not deterred by her apparent weakness. Her jade eyes looked straight at Atrum, saying out loud what John had thought just before.
"I hate to be rude, Atrum, but I think you think us Celestial Spirits. Are you a Celestial Spirit? It would make sense then why you would think your Master wanted to add us to his collection. I have a collection too, a conglomerate of friends... well, more like a duo of friends. A friend duo. Yeah, something like that."
Xing Qi grinned nervously as the Horse Giant whined behind her in obnoxious approval.
"Anyway, I'd be happy to look in your guild. I think your Master and I could help each other out."

As the punk was walking past Atrum he took a good look at the horse giant nearby. Of course he had seen it before, how could he have not? It was too big to miss. But even then the man had not really paid the attention such a strange sight deserved, not until now.
"Woah... That has to be the second biggest man with a horse head, who is wearing nothing but underwear, that I've ever seen." He thought as he stared at the horse giant for a few seconds.
Then this lady, At rum, offered the punk, along with the other two people present the possibility to join the guild she was part of. Sure the punk was looking to join a guild. "Nope. I have had enough of these scams about the greatest guilds and such for today." The punk very harshly replied to At rum. It was yet another guild claiming to be the best around here, but like Renascence it was equally suspicious. Most of all that the guild was named after this woman here, but she also claimed that someone else. Either she was the guild master, but had issues and talked about herself in the third person or there was something else, really suspicious of course, behind all of this. Deciding to not waste any more time here the punk once again started walking away from this location of so called guild.

"Oh, Master's calling," said Sarah as the huge broadsword went flying in her direction. For that split second, she seemed totally out of it, and barely snapped back to reality as the sword was just a few inches from her face. She quickly lifted up her twin sewing needles, trying to stop the blade.
In a show of sparks, the sword was just barely deflected, but not without leaving a nasty cut across Sarah's cheek. She touched her face with her hand, her eyes squinting. Blood. She frowned, but spun around and joined Cruckus as they left the scene.
As they walked away though, she did turn and shoot a nasty look at Alden, but said no more. Within a few minutes they vanished within the crowd of villagers that had gathered around to watch the impressive mage fight. Most seemed disappointed it was over so quickly, but others were impressed with this so called new Guild Renascence.
Elrond laughed happily, slapping his thigh. "Well what do ya know!? I chose the right people after all! I guess this is the best time to introduce myself, eh? My name is Elrond Vir, Guild Master of Renascence!"
He had gathered the first few mages of his group. Alden, Puck, West, and Dofun. "Now, everyone, let's go home to the Guild!"
---
Back at Renascence Guild, Atrum seemed glad she was having some people seem interested in joining her Guild. She nodded towards them all, and then called out to Jupiter. "Hey, you too! Think it over. Just show up tomorrow, and I'll show you this is no scam."
And with that, she spun around and began to walk away. As she did, a mist seemed to envelop her and she was gone.
Just as she dissipated, Elrond showed up with the other guild members (if they chose to follow him). He pointed towards the empty plot of land, smiling at the guys behind him. "And this is it, everyone! Renascence Guild!" He kept the dumb smile on his face for a moment, then fell to his knees. "I- I know it's not much. But believe me, we can really create the best--"
Elrond then froze, realizing a girl was standing across from him. His face turned deep red and he quickly stood back up, his hands on his hips and his cape blowing in the wind dramatically. He cleared his throat and in a deeper voice, continued: "We shall create the best Guild the world has ever seen! With my extremely manly power (he shot a look at Xin Qi), anything is possible!"
He then realized that another group was behind Xin Qi. There was an intense looking man with black hair along with a punk-style guy who looked pretty badass walking away. He quickly called out to all of them. "Oi, you guys!? Were you interested in Renascence too? We have plenty of room for all of you guys! Join my Guild!"
He wasn't sure what there answer would be, but he hoped they'd join. He wanted nothing more but a Guild. A group of powerful friends to work together with in a world to explore. He turned away from them, looking out at the long expanse of ocean. It was then he noticed a small leaf seeming to sprout out of ground before his eyes. He raised an eyebrow and went down to touch it, but as he did a huge rumbling began to shake the ground.
"E-earthquake!?"
And then it happened. Right before everyone, the ground began to crumble away, as if opening up. Wooden boards seemed to shoot out of the ground, stacking on others, forming seals. Shards of glass rose out of the ground, and like puzzle pieces came together perfectly, finding there place on a newly formed wall. Stone bricks stacked on each other, forming chimneys and bases for more walls. Shingles laid out on the roof like a deck of cards. All around, it was as if a building was coming together on it's own.
Finally, a door rose out of the ground and flipped around, like a domino, until it reached its spot. It then slowly swayed and clicked as it closed. And then it was over, and standing before them was a Guild entitled: "Renascence"
Elrond could barely believe his eyes. He then spotted something else on the ground. It was like writing in the sand, and very quickly it vanished. He quickly tried to read the words: "When it is needed, it will always return. This is my gift for my beloved Guild. Fa--" And then the wind blew and the dirt was scattered along with the words.
Elrond looked back up at the magnificent Guild before him. He began laughing and spun around to all the mages gathered. "Well that was easier than I thought! Welcome, everyone, to Renascence!"
