As Ticky and some others are already aware, I've been planning on running a Quest on the /tg/, or "Traditional Games" board of 4chan. Basically the way a quest works is, some main person creates a setting and character(s) through which to tell a story, and people on the board post what the want to do as the character or what they want to happen next. The format of quests depends on how the story is being played, and is usually told via text, screenshots, or pictures/art. I plan to do my one using the latter. If anyone is familiar with MS Paint Adventures, or Ruby Quest, this is like that.
I have been browsing the /tg/ board for a few years now and I have seen it change quite a bit overtime. My idea for a quest is to consider the nature of the board itself and how it has changed to be the way it has. I plan to do this however, under the pretext of a mystery thriller adventure in a fantasy world. The basic idea is that one day, a retired adventurer gets a strange letter out of the blue from an old friend asking for help. /tg/ will play the role of this retired adventurer, and steer their actions and how they proceed in solving the mystery. In this way the quest has two different levels of meaning; the first and most obvious level is the retired adventurer and her journey to unravel the mysteries surrounding the disappearance of an old friend, while the second level is a basic deconstruction of the history of the nature of the /tg/ board itself.
In a way, this thread is for people to follow what happens with this whole effort if anyone cares at all. The other purpose however is to provide art for Ticky so that she can have something to accurately reference when working on the art I commissioned her for. As a foreword I will say that I have no illusions about my artistic skill; I actively and willingly recognize myself as the worst artist in the world. As such a working title for this quest for the longest time was "ARGUABLY THE WORST DRAWN QUEST THAT I HAVE EVER SEEN IN MY ENTIRE LIFE". Then again I'm not trying to shift any paradigms here, just create a story. So without further ado, the main characters;
Some explanation to my very basic art style; characters will share this crude style of rounded heads with hair, simple shaped bodies, and stick appendages. Male characters will have straight-sided rectangle bodies, female characters will have curved crescent-shaped bodies, and armored characters regardless of gender will have trapezoid bodies. Actually different races will have to be discerned by physical features.
---
I will be adding more characters as I go along, probably about one new one per day, with the intended goal of about 25 give or take so expect more to come! Of note that Ticky will only be drawing about six to ten of these people depending on the needs of the story.

Miriam, a twenty-two year old human, is a former adventurer having retired two years prior to the beginning of the story. Having settled down in a quiet town, her life is fairly average if a bit boring, but she has made the transition back to society well. One day she receives a strange letter from an old friend, a fellow adventurer having been recently declared missing, asking for help. How will she choose to help her friend and solve the mystery of his disappearance?
