What were the biggest successes and disappointments?

Now that Naruto is officially ending in five chapters, I'd figure now was a good time to talk about the biggest successes and disappointments of the series.

For me, the best success was the action. There are fantastic set pieces, especially in the first part of the series. One of my fondest memories in junior high was watching the Rock Lee versus Gaara fight with my dad. On that note, characters like Rock Lee, Gai-sensei, Neji and several others are incredibly noteworthy. Unfortunately, again, most of these characters are found in the first part.

The worst is the promises lost. Many characters have effectively lost their character development over the course of the series. Sakura, Sasuke, Rock Lee to name a few. Some like Kakashi have actually gone backward (with him effectively supporting Sasuke's abuse of Naruto and Sakura). The only real success story for me is Gaara. He's the one character who got out untouched. He told the Tailed Beasts, the very creatures that ruined his life, proudly that Naruto is his friend. He went from a pretentious jerk to a kind and responsible leader. Now... if only someone else did the same... SASUKESASUKESASUKECOUGH.

Part 1 as a whole
Orochimaru as the bad Guy
Pain Invasion Arc (except the end obviously)

Worst:
The rewrites to fit everything around the fucking Uchiha clan.

Itachi becoming an "Anti-hero" and I use that term loosely as he still had to murder all the uchiha kids at Sasuke's age or younger, his reason for leaving Sasuke alive would have worked for them to. plus he had to murder innocents who married an Uchiha so fuck him, he's a villain and no one will ever convince me otherwise.

Minato and the village in general being complete morons during Naruto's birth flashbackj, everything had to be written so that Minato died, despite the fact it looks liek he could win several times over. Minato deciding to die just to give Kushina 5 minutes of chakra time with Naruto later on when he could have lived and raised his son.

Obito surviving and gaining enough strength to combat Minatoa nd control the Kyuubi in less than a year, and the entire timelien around him. How does the masked man speak to Kisame during his flashback when he's controlling Yagura? Yagura cant be alive if Rinw as the jinchuriki, but Yagura cant be dead cause Zabuza rebelled against him, but in order for Rin to be the jinchuriki then Yagura has to be dead.
Kisame recognises who is udner the mask shortly after Obito recruits Sasuke into akatsuki, how is this possible, it couldnt be Madara or Obito he met previously.

after all thsoe shitty rewrites to focus on the uchiha you then swap the big bad Madara who had been built of for years for Kagura, a pointless fucking doll with no personality who appeared in one chapter in a flashback then bam outta nowhere she's revived and is evil.

why is Kagura evil? why cants he just take her new life and live in peace? wtf does she need an army for? will this potential threat to Kagura come one day and kill Narutoa nd the ninja world? is her motivation really these 2 kids are descended from my sons so fuck it i'm keeping a grudge? thats just bullshit.

Black Zetsu being "the man behind the man behind the man" XD look up tv tropes if you dont get what that means lol. I guess kishi will just say any point in the timelien where it doenst make sense for Madara or Obito to be the masked man will just be black zetsu, talk about desperate writing XD

and finally Sasuke, fuck him.
