Alrighty, guys. We've had that Nanatsu no Taizai banner up for quite a while now. I think it's time for a change.
I'd like to put a new manga suggestion every week or so, based on what you guys are reading. It can be old or new. I'm likely to change the image and link very soon, but I'd like to know what manga you'd like up there. The more obscure, the better imo. Just make sure you actually like it.
So, if you would, post a few suggestions here with a sentence or two description as to why you like it. I'll probably put it up there!
Thank you!

I'm going to let up and allow anime this time around. Especially with such a small active member count, I'd hate to exclude anyone just because they don't read a lot of manga. If the suggestion had an original manga behind it (not one added later), I'd like to see that. If the anime is undoubtedly better than the original manga, like Girls und Panzer or something, then I'll consider the anime version.

In regards to manga, I think most of you guys know by now what I'd recommend. This is mainly because I read like one new series a year. If older/more obscure titles are allowed though, a few titles worth mentioning come to mind.
As for anime, I have a lot of suggestions, but I'll hold back so I don't completely overwhelm you, haha. Also, I get wanting to include the original manga, but what if an anime had non-manga source material, like novels? Just wondering.
But yeah, seems like a great idea, and I'm all for it!

If it had a non-manga source, the anime version is perfectly cool, especially considering how hard it is to find translated Japanese novels.
Just suggest the best of the best then. I'll be sure to put up suggestions sometime later this week. I'm leaving the anniversary banner as a placeholder until we get a legitimate suggestion. I'll switch them every week or so.

Is that some kind of cat musical? Get that amazing piece of work off the forums! We're not good enough for that!
Finally cropped up some suggestions:
Teppu (Iron Wind)
I'm not normally into sports comics but this one takes the cake. It's about Women's MMA and features a very unique protagonist and, most important to me personally, zero fan service. I'd highly recommend this one if you're interested in sports or fighting.
Puella Magi Madoka Magica: The different story
Without spoiling much about the original show, this is a manga of three volumes that presents an alternate version of what could have happened in the story. I'm a huge fan of the manga adaptation of Madoka, but this is the version to get if you want an original tale that stays true to the canon of the anime.
Dragonball
Yeah, I know. Dragonball. I've been rereading it recently and, man, is it good. It's amazing how timeless this comic seems. I'm only up to volume 3 so far but I adore it. It's like seeing a childhood friend after a long time and realizing that nothing's changed. It's so great.

Okay, so for suggestions, I decided to go with things I think may be unappreciated, or at least what I feel could use some attention. There are a few titles I love, but that everyone agrees are great already, and I don't know if I wanna waste my suggestions just on those, haha. So here we go.
For manga:
Vinland Saga
Was kinda hesitant to include this one, as pretty much everyone's at least aware of it, but I honestly can't think of someone I know who has actually read all of it, and the omnibus sales are criminally low, so I'll go ahead and give it my recommendation. An intense, thought-provoking historical tale, with some of the best characters I've read in any manga. Fights for the fight fans, drama for the drama fans, it's just real solid all around.
Dragon Knights
Probably the most obscure series I'm suggesting here, this is a manga I bought nearly all of when I was very young, and forgot about until very recently. For an older manga that managed to completely go under the radar, it holds up amazingly well. Despite having an awful title, this is a very complex fantasy epic, with good dialogue and some pretty neat concepts. A pretty good read, if you're into this genre.
Koe no Katachi
Yeah yeah, Ky really likes Koe no Katachi, you probably get it by now, moving on.
For anime:
The Eccentric Family
A terrifically smart series, that deserved way more love than it was given. The writing in this anime is superb, reflecting the quality of the novel it was based on. While starting out as a lighthearted, feel-good kind of anime, albeit one with a remarkably original atmosphere and style, it later turns into something really emotionally profound. It's short and simple, but contains a strikingly relatable narrative hidden under a fantastical premise. It also contains what might be the best portrayal of the relationship between siblings I've ever seen.
Bunny Drop
Okay, this one's based off a manga, sure, but trust me, we'd all be very happy to pretend the manga doesn't exist. Anyway, this anime seemed to go completely ignored when it was first released, and while it has since picked up a fair amount of attention, I still haven't heard a lot about it outside a few very specific crowds. This is probably the sweetest a story could possibly get, without becoming saccharine or false, and that alone wins it a mention. It portrays a kind of relationship that often goes ignored in anime, and is almost never put into the spotlight. Winning it even more points is that it does so really well. Whether for the writing or for the adorable, this is a genuinely great anime, and oh so very refreshing compared to all the other stuff that's out there.
Legend of Galactic Heroes
Yeah yeah, this is the best anime of all time, you probably get it by now, moving on.
SUPER BONUS ROUND: Excel Saga. Both the anime and the manga. Wanted to recommend it, couldn't decide which version to suggest. Both stories, while sharing the same title and many of the same characters, are so radically different, it's one of the few titles that will give a completely new experience no matter how you decide to take it in. They're both equally funny though, so if one doesn't suit your fancy, I still suggest trying the other.
