"Why does any of that matter?"
Lizard did not understand the masked man's motivations. If he was just trying to kill them for the sake of killing, that she could comprehend. That would make sense to her. While the idea that killing was wrong was still mostly incomprehensible to her, she now at least got the notion that it wasn't something most humans thought too highly of. How anyone expected to survive without ending the lives of others, she still hadn't figured out. But this man was especially strange. If he didn't think that killing was acceptable, then why was he, in turn, so set on killing? In Lizard's mind, it was a complete contradiction. It was such a foreign, troubling thought, that she stopped thinking of it entirely, and within seconds forgot about it. Instead, she focused her attention on his challenge to her and the rest of her group.
"I can't," she replied. "Try, I mean. I want to. But I can't."
If she was about to continue that thought, Hil's sudden approach quickly prevented that. Even before Kusu could finish speaking, Lizard spun to face the flying sword, a gleaming, malicious intent in her eyes, and a low, scarcely audible hiss escaping her lips. Kusu's singular order was all she needed to hear. Hil had to be stopped. The captain herself demanded it. As long as Lizard followed that order, anything she did to obey it couldn't be questioned. For the first time since the day she awakened, she could hunt. Her purpose could be fulfilled. The only factor that lessened the pure, exhilarating joy she felt was that her prey was in the form of a mere sword. But that too, came with advantages. Swords couldn't die. So regardless of what she did, Lizard wouldn't be killing him.
Not flinching away from the fast approaching weapon, Lizard drew her own knife and lunged at Hil, swinging downwards. Her goal was to smack the sword to the ground, where it could be more manageable. However, regardless of whether that initial attack worked or not, her next move would be the same. She reached out to Hil with her free hand, aiming to grip the sword by the hilt and pin it down. All of these actions were carried out with incredible speed and strength, that one would not usually think possible, from a frame as small as hers. It was like her vicious, bloodthirsty spirit alone was powering her body.
---
As Morgie's demeanor changed and she suddenly became happy and cheery, she might have noticed Timo turn her away for a few seconds, obscuring her expression. The smuggler was not expecting, and was certainly not ready for, the emotions that the doll's childlike enthusiasm stirred in her. It wasn't a pleasant experience, and one she hid as well and as tightly as she could. After that initial moment in which her disposition slipped, she was right back to normal, as if nothing had ever happened. Because of this momentary lapse, however, she didn't fully register Morgie's comment about eradicating liars through fear. A good thing too, as that goal, should it be achieved, would have more than a few negative repercussions for Timo.
Meanwhile, around her, it became more apparent that there wasn't even a sense of normalcy to go back to. At least the cloaked woman seemed to have some notion of what was happening. Not so fortunately, she didn't seem all that friendly either, and it certainly didn't seem likely that they were going to get many answers out of her. Still, it didn't hurt to try. Jack, it seemed, had already started on that, so all she had to do was follow.
"Your little friend there's a handful, ain't she?" the smuggler said casually. "So, I take it you're a part of the merry fanclub, too? Just outta curiosity, mind 'splaining what all this is about?

"Hello, human," the club member said with a tinge of spite. "You may call me Rei. Morgiana is the daughter of one of my friends."
"That's a lie! I hate lies! She's a liar!"
Rei ignored Morgie. It was apparent that she was used to the doll's behavior. She gripped her tight on her porcilian arm.
"Fanclub?" she asked Timo. "Oh yes, we're part of the Mr. Dark Fan Club. If you're interested, fill out this contact information and we can get you started. I'm so sorry you had to deal with Morgiana. She's just a child you know. An ordinary child. She gets too excited, especially when she's out on her own. Now, let's go back home before you cause anymore trouble, Morgie."
"No!" Morgie barked. "I'm not going back! I'mma suck you into my amulet, dumb Aunt Rei! Hah!"
The doll reached out her arm toward Rei and there was a sudden sound like a low boom. But Rei wasn't affected. No. Rather, the amulet that Ron was holding began to glow. In one rapid moment, it warped his figure and sucked him straight into the jewelry without pomp or circumstance. It then clicked shut and fell to the ground.
"Whoops," Morgie said with a blank expression. "Wrong person."
"What happened?" Rizzo said in fear and dashed forward. "Ron!"
The rat boy clambered to get to the amulet and knocked into Rei on his way there. Her face contorted in anger.
"Get away from me, human!"
She pushed Rizzo to the ground and made a mad dash to get to the amulet herself to do who knew what. In her distraction, Morgie the doll scampered over to Timo and went to hide behind her legs. She whimpered in worry, looking incredibly guilty.
---
Only Lizard could pull off something so insane as subduing a possessed sword. The weapon actually bent under the strike for a moment and was taken straight to the ground.
As soon as Lizard took the hilt in her hand, she would feel an overwhelming rush. Hazy images of blood and death would wash over her. It was a feeling she would most likely be familiar with. In her hands was a weapon unlike any other. She could do with it whatever her imagination granted her. The sword would take shape into whatever she desired.
Lizard could not hear the lamentation and rage of the spirit within the sword, but she would somehow understand it. It wanted the masked man dead, not out of revenge or bloodlust, but so that Kusu would remain safe. It seemed that the sword had come across this person before or someone very much like him. Whoever he was, he was a danger unlike any other.
But now the spirit was inactive and could only move upon Lizard's command. The sword was hers until it came into the hands of someone else.
One would think the masked man would use this moment to flee, run, fight or do anything. The bolas around his hands kept him from moving them so it seemed like he was subdued. Yet, would anyone have tried something to get away from the sword?
He appeared upset and disappointed. Tears streamed down his face. He was starting to look less like a man and more like a child.
"Why won't you kill me?" he asked. "Are you playing some kind of sick game? How could you destroy my country but hold back on killing me?"
Kusu stood came to a stand. She was still incredibly weak and injured from the previous attack. Still, there was a strange determination in her eyes. She had been waiting a long time to say what she was going to say now.
"I didn't attack Regala. I was there that day but it was someone else. We tried to stop him but we failed."
"What...?"
The masked man grew silent. Mr. Dark would be able to feel fear growing inside of him. Doubt plagued his mind. What if he had been wrong these past years? But as his eyes wandered to look at the group before him, an enormous amount of terror seized his heart. The image of Sharp the reporter brought in him a whole new fear. It was clear that she was source of his terror.
"You're with Stacy?!" he shrieked. "You sick, monster! To think I believed you for a second! I'll destroy you all before you can kill anyone else!"
The man pulled his caught arms back and pulled them forward in the path of a half circle. The buildings to the man's left began to shift and crumble in the wake of an unseen force. They splintered and fell into themselves. It was clear that this terrible power would strike Kusu, then Lizard and finally Kalen and Sharp if it wasn't stopped.
"Take him out!" Kusu called out in panic. "Hurry, Lynwood!"
Her eyes widened at her mistake. But there was no time for corrections on her part. There was hardly any time.
---
Sharp couldn't help but grin when the bolas caught their target. It seemed that the group had succeeded in taking out the masked man. Her mood quickly changed when Lizard successfully stopped the sword's attack.
"No!" she said through gritted teeth. "We have to knock the kid out now!"
Things grew even worse when the masked man actually recognized Sharp, though he called her "Stacy." The reporter looked up at Kalen with frightful eyes. She seemed to understand that their situation was extremely dire.
"Run! Get out of here! He'll kill you if you stay!"
Was it an act or did the reporter really care about Kalen's life?

In the midst of the threat's sobbing, Mr. Dark kept his gun raised and pointed at the one who had wasted so much of their time. His talk of Regala was much to think about. He wondered how many other threats walked the world at that instant, hellbent on avenging that devastated country. How fortunate it would have been if there had been no survivors in that place; then, at least, there would be no annoyances seeking vengeance.
When doubt quickly grew in the boy, the boogeyman hoped for some sort of diplomatic conclusion to the affair. Instead, he took one look at "Sharp" and everything changed.
A scared animal is a dangerous one, and that could be seen now through the falling debris. Mr. Dark looked to Lynwood with gritted teeth and hissed out his frustrated words.
"You don't have to kill to remove the threat. Fight! Knock him unconscious, hit him on the head, do what you must or you will die, Lizard!"
With that, Mr. Dark grabbed Kusu's wrist and ran, despite any possible protest from the girl. Lizard was a wildcard, there was no telling what it would do, they had to leave immediately and hope for the most optimal solution. In the midst of his run, he glanced at Kalen and Sharp.
No. Stacy, yes?
He kept running. Surely Kalen could take care of himself. As for Stacy, well. How convenient it would be for a potential threat to be swallowed up by destruction. How convenient indeed.

The look of shock on Jack's face as he watched Ron disappeared gave way to genuine anger as he glared at Morgie before she scampered over to Timo. He closed his eyes and took a deep breath. As Rei tried to make a move for the amulet Jack stood firmly in place and maintained his grip on her hand, holding her back. "Miss, I'm gonna have to ask you to stay where you are for a moment, a lot of Crazy junk just went down and I'd like you not to cause any more for the moment. AND to treat my crew a little less forcefully!" He said, squeezing her hand painfully tight. "Now... SOMEBODY," He said, glaring at both the Dark club members," is gonna explain what just happened, and how we make it un-happen!"

"Knock him out, run away, too many conflicting orders!"
While he didn't want to endanger anyone by staying, if that was what Sharp believed would happen, he also wasn't going to just ignore her distress with the situation and run away. Picking her up again and running some distance away from the crumbling buildings, but not completely away from the area, he helped her down so that he could leave her to sit in a chair of an outdoor cafe (which given the current events was possibly deserted).
"Stay here, or leave if you can, I'll take care of the kid."
Letting go of her hand at last with a confident smile, he took off in a run back the way they came. By his intention, he aimed to just run right up to the kid and kick them in the head, ideally disabling them long enough if not actually knocking them out. That said, the effort of having to get Sharp to relative safety and then have to run back to the conflict and reach the kid, meant that he lost some precious time. Chances were if someone else were to act, like Lynwood, they would most likely reach the kid before Kalen could.

When Lizard gripped the hilt, saw the images of blood and death, and felt the spirit's rage, a swift and halting transformation came over her. All the fury, malice, and tension that had been gripping her before faded away, as if it was being physically drained out of her body. She didn't quite fall limp, but she was unmistakably still, in a calm, rested sort of way. Slowly, she rose to an upright position, still remaining where she was, but her thoughts miles away. Unmistakably, the images she saw comforted her. The familiarity eased her burning, deprived mind. Though the blade was heavier than the weapon she was used to, and the hilt was of a different design, it felt right for that sword to be in her hand. The only thing missing was to take part in the killing herself, to feel the blood splashed against her. Something that would not be hard to fix. The sword's desire and the danger around her gave her a focus. Now, it was merely the memory of an order that could have possibly held her back. A limitation that was stripped away the instant that Kusu shouted out to her.
Kusu called to Lynwood, and the lizard responded.
Mr. Dark and Kalen's words and actions didn't even register to her. They seemed muffled, faded, like they were separated by an ocean's worth of distance. All that there was to be concerned over in the moment was the hunter, her weapon, and her prey. "Take him out" did not have that many possible interpretations, and her instincts removed any other binds. Near instantly, with a dutiful and unflinching directness, she lunged for the prey, and, with her new sword, slashed at the boy's throat. Mr. Dark would be able to recognize that there was no sense of fear of any kind from Lizard, as she moved in to the kill. Nor was there anger, or even that much of a drive. There was bloodlust, but not of the kind that was usual to humans. From her expression, if any could see it despite how fast she was moving, the only emotion that was detected was a kind of peaceful happiness. Finally, after such a long time of being kept back, Lizard was doing what she was born to do. The hunter was home.
---
"Whoa whoa whoa!" Timo said assertively as tensions began to heat up. "No one's gonna go anywhere, so let's just take a step back, ya dig?"
The smuggler didn't move an inch while or after she spoke, letting Morgie continue hiding behind her. She didn't much enjoy being used as a shield, but she figured it would be better overall for all involved parties if nobody was able to get at her just yet. Taking a drag from her cigarette, she paused to better gauge what was going on, and found that it was much more difficult than she had first thought, taking into account all the details she wasn't privy to.
"Now, I'm not really involved in this, but from where I'm standing, you all need to cool it. None of us are gonna get what we want... whatever that is... all pushing and shouting and shit. So cool it."
More and more, Timo had regretted ever getting herself into that mess, and wondered how it happened at all.
"Also, what Jack said. I'm kinda with him on this one."

Rei glared at Jack menacingly. She scratched at his wrist with her long finger nails.
"Morgie sucked that man into that amulet using a shadow magic technique. She's far too inexperienced to be out on her own. Your friend is alive, but imagine what more she could do if she isn't returned safely to us. I can get your friend out if you give the amulet to me."
Rizzo looked up at Jack with incredible nervousness. Could they trust her?
"No! She's lying! She won't let the ugly man go after what he's seen in there! I've seen her do... things to people. Make them not move. Don't let Aunt Rei have it! Give it to me!"
Morgie clutched onto Timo's side and pointed to the amulet within Jack's reach. The doll seemed to be trustworthy so far, but was Rei right in that it would be dangerous to let her go alone?
---
Sharp blushed as Kalen placed her on the cafe chair. She quickly shook her head and tried desperately to make the best frown she could. It seemed she really liked Kalen, but she was trying her hardest not to show it.
Kalen's success didn't end there. Distracted by his attempts at destruction, the masked man didn't see the shepherd coming at all. Blood flew out of his mouth as the kick connected properly. The wave of power ended abruptly as the masked man struggled to lift himself off the ground.
"I want to go back," he muttered as he spit out a loose tooth.
For a cold moment, Mr. Dark would feel an unfamiliar fear rise within the masked man. It was the fear of the unknown. It felt as though the man had no idea where he was.
The blade in Lizard's hand warped with insane purpose. For the duration of the attack, it bended to her will and added so much more. It was a fury of blades that torn and mangled the masked man before them. Blood and flesh flew this way and that in a manic mess. What was left of the man crumbled to the ground with an anticlimactic thud.
Kusu watched on in bewildered silence. It would have been otherwise silent, had it not been for the sounds of flashing cameras as reporters stepped out of the wood works to get a closer look at the event. They didn't care that a cold blooded killer was standing in their midst.
In the midst of the white flashes, a stream of pink and blue light suddenly erupted from the ether. The corpse began to rise up before Lizard and the sword with her in the reverse motion in which it fell. The blood on Lizard's clothes and skin would jump out toward the body. Its broken pieces streamed back together as the pink and blue lights spiraled about it. In a manner of seconds, the masked man was whole again. The bullet wounds and broken teeth remained but his mortal injuries were gone.
He gasped and clasped at the mask on his face in panic but he couldn't find get the simple strap on the back of his head that would get it loose. Mr. Dark would feel his fear reset, almost as if the brutal attack done on him had never happened. His fear of the unknown came rushing in relentlessly, sending him into unconsciousness.
The reporters walked up to Lizard and began to push dial tones into her face. They bombarded her with crazed questions. Who was she? Why was she there? Is she happy now that she wouldn't have to clean the blood out of her clothes now?
"Good job!" Sharp shouted as she limped forward, pushing two reporters out of her way. "Now bind his feet! Make sure he can't move! Hurry, before the other reporters get to him!"
While the reporter took charge of the situation, the captain remained as still as Mr. Dark would allow her. She gripped his hand with fierce anxiousness. Her eyes remained fixed on the masked man.
"Mr. Scary Man," Kusu said quietly. "Did you see that? Why would my brother help someone like that? I know Lizard and Hil did a terrible thing, but it doesn't make sense why Uzo would do something like that."

"Tie him up? Oh sure, no problem."
After kicking the opponent and seeing the effect, Kalen had more or less just plonked down right beside. Even as the fantastical display of regeneration occurred though and the bright colors flashed, he just kind of leaned back a bit with an ambivalent expression as he watched it all unfold pretty much right next to him. When the crowd gathered, he still didn't act much differently, beyond offering a sheepish grin and a shrug for the cameras. It was of course when Sharp approached though, that he made a move and took off his belt.
"I've had more than enough practice with sheep, and as you know, the basic principles of tying up a person are fundamentally the same."
Making a regular effort to keep his pants up as he worked, his goal as directed was to follow Sharp's orders.

Jack just stared blankly at Rei's face for a good 10 seconds. "Lady, you got a terrible poker face." "Rizzo!" he said, quickly kicking the amulet over to him. "Get the amulet!" "You!" he said, looking at Timo. "Get the girl!" He yanked on Rei's arm to pull her forward and sidestepped, attempting to get both himself and her arm around behind her and get his other hand on her shoulder. "I'll meet you back at the Ace. GO!"

After her killing blow landed, Lizard remained still, not reacting to any of the stimuli around her. Finally, after remaining peaceful, after being forced back from the hunt for far too long, she got to kill once again. It was a sensation of great relief, even though it was also just a little troubling for her. What if Kusu didn't want Lizard to kill the masked man? What if she meant something else? Now that she did the act, could she be forgiven? Would Kusu let Lizard stay on the boat? The hunter did not like the idea of having to stay on that island. It was clearly too dangerous.
And then he stood up.
Lizard knew how to kill, and she was certain she had done so to him. One does not ever survive being torn apart in the way that Lizard and Hil did to that man. What she just saw was so unthinkable, she barely even registered it. Was the masked man immortal? Could anyone harm him? Was there somehow a problem with the way Lizard had killed him? Or was it the sword itself? She used it without even thinking, perhaps it was defective. But she did not think about that for long.
The flashing lights and questions from the reporters was strange, and new, and far too loud and bright. Especially since she had never seen a camera before, and didn't know what it did. Her first instinct was that she was under attack, and shrunk back into a defensive position, growling like a beast at the throngs of people. Even after it was clear to her that the flashing lights weren't hurting her, and the people were more interested in questions than blood, the stimuli was still too much like being attacked.
"Stop it... go away."
Lizard held her arms in front of her face, as if to try and block out the light, but she could do nothing about the sound. If she was free, like she had been when the Urdian first released her, she would have easily slaughtered the lot of them without thinking. But now she was restrained, but could do nothing to stop them, it was like she was being suffocated, trapped in a small place that would only close in until she was crushed. It was then that she remembered how the masked man could come back to life. She still didn't know what caused, it, if it would happen again, or if the unfortunate revival was exclusive to the masked man. But, she could easily find out.
Thrusting the sword outwards, Lizard stabbed at one of the reporters. Because of how much stimuli she was being hit with, and because groups of people tended to look like one singular mass to her, she didn't know precisely where she was stabbing, or who her blade would come into contact with, but she did at least make sure it would hit someone. She wasn't trying to kill anyone, however, since she was calm enough now to know not to do that, but she did intend to see if the same thing that happened to the masked man would happen to one of them.
---
After Jack shouted an order at Timo, the smuggler couldn't help but feel as though she were being unfairly put on the spot. Until that point, she was purposefully trying to remain neutral, and now she was being forced to take the side of a pirate she didn't even know that well. It did seem to be for good reason, and she knew that Rei was not to be trusted, but she most certainly did not like the sudden escalation, particularly since not all the details were made apparent. Still, by this point she had no choice. Usually, Timo never took orders from someone who wasn't paying her, but this time was an exception.
"You got it. C'mon, Morgie, we're cutting out."
Leaning down for just one moment, Timo (attempted to) scoop up the doll with one hand, and took off into a run away from Rei. It wasn't long, however, just long enough for it to be too late to turn back, that the smuggler realized she had no idea where she was going. Jack had said something about the Red Ace, which would have been a great help, if she had any idea about where it was docked.
"Well, this ain't good. Looks like we're goin' on an adventure, little friend. You excited?"
Without any other idea of what to do, Timo ran towards the direction of the island's docks, hoping that she would find Jack's ship somewhere around there.

Mr. Dark gripped Kusu's hand in return, though his touch was gentle and reassuring. He paused a moment, then looked to meet Kusu's eyes.
"Kusu. You love your brother, and he loves you. But he has no good intentions for the rest of us. Whatever he is planning would certainly involve taking you away, and he is not as kind as you. Thus, he is helping this stranger in his attempts to kill us. That he went after you in particular is strange on Uzo's part, but...as you can see, there is no doubt Uzo is behind this."
Mr.Dark moved his hand around in her grip so that his pinky touched hers.
"Whatever happens, you must side with us over him. He wants your friends dead. I know it is hard, but you must not trust him, Kusu. Else your friends will be hurt.
Promise?"
The little finger was extended, waiting for that hook of the other. Whether or not it came, Mr. Dark stayed with her for some moments more, listening to whatever she might say. No was the time to plan ahead, the time to set up an escape or counterattack, the time to -
Damn it all to hell.
There was Lizard, stabbing one of the reporters. He had thought to come in once she showed distress, but somehow it managed to escalate very quickly from discomfort to violence. Mr. Dark ran over and tried to push Lizard away from the reporters, one of whom was likely bleeding. He turned to Lizard and nearly growled out his words in a seething whisper.
"Lizard, what are you doing?! Do not stab someone simply because they annoy you. Please, go to Kusu, make sure she's safe. Hopefully, we can find a shelter, away from these lights."
Taking out some medical supplies from his coat, he offered to help the reporter and, if such an offer was accepted, began to work on the wound. He couldn't care less for these troublesome voyeurs, but it would not do to be seen here as stabhappy dangers to the city. They have enough trouble as it is.

"Weeeeee! I'm so excited!"
Morgie squealed and squeaked as Timo carried her as they took off. She would feel something creep up her body. It was Rizzo, having turned into his rat form. He sat on her shoulder, dressed in an adorable tiny version of his pirate clothes. He clutched in his tiny paws the amulet that kept his brother captured.
As they continued to the docks, they would come to the open area that had been destroyed by the masked man who had attempted to kill Kusu R. Kidd and her friends.
It would be up to Timo to keep going to the Red Ace or see what was going on with the pirates and the press.
"It's one of the Mr. Dark Fan Club members!" Morgie exclaimed. "It looks like he died for the sake of our cause! Hooray!"
---
"You sick bastard! You have no idea what you're going into!" Rei screeched as Timo made a getaway with Morgie, Rizzo and the amulet.
She tapped her foot furiously against the ground. Suddenly, the shadow at her feet grew and expanded behind Jack. It took on the form of a hulking mass nearly double his size. It swung one of its massive arms down at him. If it struck him, it would be like a car hitting him at thirty miles per hour.
At that moment, a slew of reporters started to creep into the alleyway. They began to take photos and talk into tone dials as they witnessed the scene before them. They seemed extraordinarily not fearful at all.
---
Kusu's face dropped when Mr. Dark told her not to trust her warlord brother.
"I don't know," she said quietly. "That guy had the same abilities as a bad man I fought a long time ago. Back then, he wanted to kill Uzo, so why would my brother help someone like that? I don't think Uzo would do something like this. Besides, I don't think he hates everybody. He likes pretty ladies like Lizard."
She hooked her talon-like finger in Mr. Dark's, careful not to stab him. She put on a sad smile.
"I promise not to trust him until you tell me to. You're a good first mate, Mr. Scary Man."
Just as they completed their glorious pinky promise, Lizard went to stab one of the reporters to test out her new blade's effectiveness. It stabbed through the camera in the woman's hands. It wasn't a fatal blow, but it did destroy her equipment and thus cut her hands pretty badly.
Lizard would notice that there was something very differently from wielding this blade than with others. The spirit inside of it seemed to put up barriers and blocks. It could have easily run through the reporter like it had with the masked man, but it held back. The blood lust was gone, replaced with a cold, scratching feeling of resentment.
Protecting Kusu would be easier than Lizard might have imagined. The young captain actually came right up to her in the slew of camera flashes. She reached out to her with an open hand.
"Could I have the Silly Sword back, please? I normally would be very mad with what you did, but I know you did it to protect us so I'm not mad. I promise."
Did Lizard really strike at the masked man for the group's safety? Kusu seemed to think so.
Mr. Dark would find that the reporter was very eager to see him. But instead of seeking medical again, she instead reached into her bag, bloody hand and all and brought out her notepad and a pen. Her hand twitched as she began to write down his description. She was entirely without fear.
"Excuse me, sir," she said in the chaos of the reporters chattering and taking pictures around her. "Who are you and why are you associated with Kusu R. Kidd, alias the Phantom Pirate Roger?"
Meanwhile, Sharp gave Kalen a glorious thumbs up at his job tying the masked man. She blushed, seeing that his belt wasn't just aesthetic and turned his face away from him. She proceeded to inspect the masked man's injuries. It seemed that the time manipulation saved his life, but it didn't take away any previous injuries, like the gunshot wounds.
Sharp's mouth fell open she she got closer. She wasn't surprised by the pink and blue light show but now she was shocked?
"This isn't a boy," she said to herself. "What the... then how the hell did Matty..."
She reached down and peeked under the man's mask. She then snapped it back down after seeing the face under it. She stood up and looked at the others with a fierce and frightened determination.
"I can't explain it now while these reporters are here, but we're still in terrible danger. This man was merely a puppet. The operator got away. We need to take him and get out of here."

"Whatever you say ma'am, rely on me!"
As per usual, Kalen didn't understand anything of what was going on. Normally he'd default to following what the Captain said, but Kusu seemed occupied otherwise. Therefore, he went to the next person to be giving out orders, which right now was Sharp. There wasn't much motivation behind his actions in this case though, other than nothing else was happening, apart from a lot of unwanted attention from... well, everyone.
"Where to then? This way I guess!"
Picking up the masked fellow and slinging him over his shoulder, the shepherd thought aloud for a moment, looking around frantically for a direction to leave by. Eventually he just stopped thinking, picked a direction and started running. If there were reporters in the way though, he'd do his best to push past without actually hurting or knocking anyone over.
He wasn't a bad guy after all!

The rather ceremonious entrance the ships had made did give the Red Ace and her crew a good alibi to be there but Jack still wanted it to more out of the way. He had moored it to the very far end of the docks so as to avoid unnecessary attention to it. Might be a little hard to spot for tommy gun girl but Rizzo can show her the way Jack opened his hand as he pressed Rei's hand to her back, sticking it to both of them. "Usually don't, it's more fun that way" At this point he noticed the shadow. Reacting quickly he moved his left hand from Rei's shoulder to her waist and lifted her off the ground, he threw her back over his head and leaned backwards in an extended suplex motion. "Face Down!" He planned to move her inbetween himself and the shadow hulk's incoming fist, or at least plow her into the pavement.

Mr. Dark would not have sensed much fear from Lizard as he growled at her, mostly confusion. For one thing, she was still a little dazed from the barrage of noise and light. Getting to stab someone was, in its own way, therapeutic for her, but it only did so much to calm her down. Already she was disoriented enough from the burst of violent impulses that came directly from her contact with the sword. It was this weapon, more than anything else, that had the hunter bothered. At first, it seemed to be one of the best things that might have happened to her. A blade that fed and responded to her killer instinct, what more could she want? But twice, she attempted to use the sword for its intended purpose, and twice it had failed. Just what was making things go so wrong lately?
"It's alright," she said, "I didn't kill them. Don't worry, I'll protect Kusu."
Since cameras were the only weapons these new enemies had, and Kalen seemed to be handling the only real threat quite well, it appeared to Lizard that Kusu was not in any real danger, so defending her would be incredibly easy. As long as the little captain followed her, then there was no cause for panic.
"I think this is broken anyway," she said to Kusu as she handed back the sword. "It can't kill. You should find one that does."
Her old knife, the truest friend Lizard knew, was much better after all. It didn't show her things like the other sword did, and it couldn't use any special tricks, but it was cold, solid steel that could cut, and that was the only thing a hunter needed.
When Sharp affirmed that the danger hadn't ceased, and that they needed to leave, Lizard stood mostly still, blinking at her. While she had no reason to deny what she was told, and the idea of getting away from the reporters sounded more than ideal, the hunter was much less quick to react to threats she couldn't sense herself. If she didn't know who, what, or where the danger was, how could Lizard react to it? How could she know it was even dangerous?
"Where should we go? I don't know this place."
For a moment, Lizard looked in the direction Kalen ran off to. It wasn't very smart, she thought, him running away with danger around, without knowing where to go. She hoped he survived, but she figured he probably wouldn't, and certainly wasn't going to follow his lead.

"Cool cool," Timo said, mostly thinking of what was ahead of her. If she stayed composed, and gave the impression that she knew what to do, maybe the little girl wouldn't get scared. Then again, whatever could possibly scare Morgie was something that Timo would avoid at all costs. "Guess that makes one of... Gaaaaah!"
Her train of thought was stopped completely when she felt something squirming its way up her body. It was so shocking, and such an awful feeling, that she nearly dropped Morgie, but managed to hold onto her. The sudden sensation of some unknown entity crawling all over her was enough to get her to run even faster, however, so there was that benefit. It wasn't until Rizzo was already sitting on her shoulder that Timo realized what was happening. It might have been a little relieving that she knew it was just a rat, and not something worse on her, but then she remembered the rat was actually a human boy, and just felt gross.
"After this, it's paws off, rodent," she growled to Rizzo in a scolding tone. "You gotta ask next time ya need a ride, dig?"
She couldn't spend too much energy on Rizzo, however, as now she could tell that, even if they had escaped Rei, they still weren't in the clear. She noticed some amount of commotion going on near the docks, of a decidedly threatening nature. This was only confirmed by Morgie being far too happy about, as far as the smuggler could tell, one of her friends dying. It might have been worth investigating, but not while she was in a hurry to get to the Red Ace, and especially not with two small passengers in tow. Taking only a moment to glance at the crowd of reporters, Timo would then make an attempt to go around them, giving whatever events were going on as wide a berth as she could, without going too far out of her way.
