”I undestanth.” Lian replied to Harlow speak and then nodded as a sign of agreement to follow Simon to the head warden's office. As Harlow pointed at her Lian noticed M's presence, but did not really think much about it, even when she told Harlow and Lian himself that they did not see her.
---
Lian did not hurry on his way to the office and as he finally got there he got to witness the sheriff's speech about his grandfather, the great Holy Knight Zaratras. This got Lian thinking about the murder that made him and the other six Virtues in to criminals. However now was not the time for that as the sheriff drank the demon blood and something quite unexpected happened as instead of just gaining new powers he turned in to some kind of monster.
To avoid ruining his shoes with the blood flowing on the floor Lian climbed to something a bit higher nearby. ”Hmm... We both hath drank the blood of the demonkind, but I am more man than a demon, but he hath become more demon than a man.” Lian pondered about this right now for a while. He certainly did not appear to be very threatened by all this. And after a moment, like Arx, Lian turned to M ask what to do next: ”Well then; what shall we do? I art nae able to returneth him to normal no more. Too much time hath passeth.”

M was speechless.
She couldn't believe this man was related to Zaratras. For a brief moment, she regretted acting so kind to him. She and Arx probably seemed superficial and cruel. It was certain that the Sheriff of that time was dead and gone. His last moments were spent with people he truly hated and she lamented for him.
Grasping her mask in her hands, she looked back toward Arx and Lian with large, sad eyes.
"Protect the town and its people," she answered with a wavering voice. "Arx, get this man and his son out of here. Lian and Harlow should focus on protecting the town and prisoners from this thing. This man or demon will be stopped by whatever means necessary. No one else is going to die today."
For a moment, M hesitated to put on the mask. A grimace came over her face but she bit her lip and put it on.
She screamed in pain, though it wasn't nearly as loud or as deafening as the demon. Her skin bubbled and expanded as spikes of hair shot out of her body.
M called it "Superbia's Wrath." Whatever it was, it transformed her into a translucent dog beast. It was many colors and none at the same time. One could mistaken it for a ghost, but it was as real as anyone in that room. It was huge, fitting very uncomfortably in the room with the monster.
The dog growled and snarled in a deep, guttural tone. It barked once at the abomination, aiming to protect the other three Virtues from it.

The sheriff was no more. In it's place was a monster comprised mostly of gaping mouths filled with razor sharp teeth. A liquid similar to acid dripped from its mouths, burning the stone floor beneath its feet.
Arx hated the sight of it. It stirred too many memories of the past. And so, he quickly took M's command to get away from the creature.
"Oi, you two, we're getting out of here!" yelled Arx, grabbing Simon and the Captain. He then took off for the door, but before he left, he saw M transform into a monster almost as frightening as the other.
However, Arx didn't say anything to M. He didn't say good luck, or be careful, or anything like that. And, he knew that M liked it that way.
---
The monster didn't seem to care that M had transformed, almost as if he didn't even notice it happening. To the monster, all life was the same. It had to be destroyed. The demon blood within him demanded it.
The creature screeched and pounced at M. While doing so, one of it's mouths stretched out like a giant dog snout and went to clamp down around M's neck, hoping to end the battle quickly so it could move onto its next target.
---
The old man was still in the room. He watched with awe. The Sheriff, the man he had trusted, the one he wanted to protect, had been a monster the entire time. Even the Captain had some explaining to do, for he owned demon blood, and what exactly did he plan to do with that if the Sheriff hadn't stole it? So much was going through his mind, but one thought remained clear: Protect your town.
Thus, he reached for his spear.

”As thou wisheth.” Lian seemed like he wasn't perfectly happy with M's plan, but did not complain and was willing to follow it. He calmly walked in front of the door and said: ”Neither thou nor the beast can escape this room.” It might seem like Lian did something special, but he really did not. More accurately Lian did nothing but stand there. However if someone were to try to break out of here Lian would use his ability and restore the walls or the door to the way the used to be, making them nearly indestructible.
There was only one weakness in this and that was that Lian was unable to use things repeatedly so after getting restored there would be a few seconds while he would not be able to reverse time again on the same target. Lian was very secretive about himself and just about anything really so unless someone had figured it out themselves they probably wouldn't know of this weakness. That should protect everyone outside from the beast, but not those inside so one person was still in danger: the old man.
So for now all Lian would do is stand there and watch M transform to a beast and battle the beast the sheriff had turned in to.

Harlow stood by Lian as he put up the border to make sure no one could leave or enter the prison. Shaking his head slightly he made his way towards the sound of fighting. There he saw M and the now beast of a sheriff fighting, but he also noticed his ring on the Captains desk.
Taking a deep breath Harlow readied himself and moved gracefully through the chaos to the desk. Quickly he picked up his ring and placed it back on his finger. Again he moved through the chaos, moving almost like someone much younger than himself. Making his way back towards Lian. He stood. Ready to do what was necessary when the time came.

M let out a frantic yelp as the monster clamped down upon her neck. She gritted her canine teeth and shifted her body, aiming to throw the monster into the desk and wall along with her. She didn't care if it hurt her even more, so long as the monster could be subdued.
She growled loudly, trying to remain strong. She couldn't tell the others that she wanted them to help. Even if she could, she wouldn't. Rather than asking them to help, she would rather die with the monster and die as a hero.

The monster was slung off of M as she shifted her body, sending him crashing into a wall. However, just as quickly, it managed to stand back up on its shaky, almost human like legs. Its many mouths screamed again, shattering any glass around.
Though perhaps it would make more sense to pursue M, as she appeared to be the strongest in the group, he changed his focus not on her, but on Harlow, who had, as if nothing was going on, walked across the room to fetch his ring. For some reason, this angered the monster, and without hesitation, he pounced at Harlow, ready to split him in two with one of its many mouths.
But before the monster could reach Harlow, the old man attacked as well, spear in hand. Jumping through the air, he jabbed the spear forward. The tip of the spear pierced just between one of its teeth and its gum, causing it to yell in pain. The monster swung its head, dislodging the spear and the old man, who went hurling through the air straight at Harlow.
---
Outside, Arx could hear the chaos going on within the Prison. He'd let Simon and the Captain go free, though the Captain did not look like he was in any good condition.
Arx wanted to help, he really did, but he knew he couldn't. He couldn't face that creature. It stirred up too many memories.
"So much for being the virtue of diligence," he muttered.

Harlow, for a man of his age, was rather agile. He was ready to move out of the way of the monster but something else happened. The old man tried attacking and this sent the old man his way.
Quickly moving out of the way of the old man's body Harlow glanced at the monster, spear in mouth. "Restraint: Movement," Harlow said as he stared at the monster. Whether this would work or not Harlow did not know. Instead he turned his attention to the old man. Quickly he brought his ring finger over the chest of the old man right where his heart would be.

As a man of extreme patience Lian just stood there without showing much emotion and watched as his fellow Virtues did battle with the monster. Only when the monster's scream broke the windows did Lian do something and as he had planned he punched the wall and suddenly the windows were just fine. It did not restore the broken items inside the room, but those were none of Lian's concern and thus he did not care about them.

M's wound bled red, but as the light reflected off it, it appeared green. The beast was something unnatural, at least for the country and regions surrounding it. She stepped back as the monster bounded for the old man. She yelped and jumped forward, aiming to bite and slam the monster into the newly restructured windows.

While Harlow managed to catch the old man, he'd find that the ring wasn't able to do anything in particular. Perhaps the old man had come to terms with his own sins, and thus, he had none of that hate in his body. He only had the wish to protect his little town.
But, being thrown across the room, the old man was in no more condition to fight. He weakly looked at Harlow, then the monster.
Harlow's ability, to restrain an enemy, appeared to have partially worked. If one looked close enough, they could still see the Sheriff's face sticking out at an odd angle of the monster. It was frozen solid, but the monster was still moving. It appeared that the restraint had focused on the Sheriff, but the demon could still move free.
M pounced at the monster again, crashing him half way through the wide glass windows. When the windows retook shape due to Lian's ability, half of the creature was cut off, falling off the side of the prison and onto the ground below while the other half pulled away, back into the room, screaming in pain. Blood flowed freely from the huge gash on the side of the monster's body.
It appeared to be weakening, but it still had a trick left. The Sheriff was a Holy Knight, and being a Holy Knight, he had a special ability. It was to cause extreme vibration in the form of a sound. He had used his gun as a way to focus his ability into sound bullets, but now in the form of a monster, he had no luxury to control the magic. Instead, the monster yelled again, but this time it didn't sound like a scream. Instead, it sounded like a low buzzing sound, like a deep vibration, which traveled through the entire room. Anyone who could not avoid the vibration would feel their entire body shake down into their bones. Needless to say, it would not be a pleasant experience.
Immediately afterwards, the monster changed his target once more, this time to Lian. He pounced at the man. All his mouths opened wide and his sharp teeth prepared to bite down on him, severing him in as many pieces as the monster could manage.
---
Far down below on the ground Arx wished he could do something to help. A crowd of townsfolk had gathered, but he wasn't sure how to explain to them what was happening.
One of the men mentioned going to a nearby town and calling for Holy Knights to take care of the problem but Arx assured them that the people within the room of the prison would be able to handle the situation.
At least, he hoped so.

When the beast screamed Lian felt his body shake and soon afterwards he saw the beast move towards him. Due to the shaking Lian was not able to properly evade or block the attack that was coming his way and instead had to take a hit.To avoid getting completely shredded Lian used his left hand to push the beast back in time so that would create some distance between them. However his hand would be bitten off in the progress. Lian winced in pain as he looked at his severed hand. This did not last very long however as Lian slapped himself, with his other hand, and suddenly his hand was back where it belonged. Not even a scar remained. ”Wretched beast.” Expecting the beast to continue attacking him Lian drew his rapier and readied himself and if the attack would happen Lian would stab the beast where he assumed it's heart would be with all his might.

As a dog-like creature, M could properly hear the frequencies the monster emitted. It not only rattled whatever anatomy the spectral form had, but her perception as well. She saw the monster approach Lian and went to attack it to protect him. However, she lost her balance and fell to the floor. Her ears rang as she recovered from the sound attack.
M tried to growl threateningly, but it didn't have much weigh in her dizziness.

Lian's lunge with his sword, surprisingly as it may be, caused the creature to freeze in place. It stood tall above the man, it's many mouths gaping and gnawing the air. At the very top of the creature was the torso and head of a man.. of the Sheriff.
"Enough of this."
It was a sound so quiet that it was possibly that no one in the room had even heard it.
"Enough," this time louder, and it was clearly from the Sheriff. The frail looking figure that sat atop the monster looked more like skin and bones than any living creature. Even the eyes were all white.
But then, something strange happened. One by one, the mouths began to vanish, disappearing into the skin. Eventually, all of the mouths were gone until it was just a lump of flesh, but soon after, the flesh began to sink in as well. At last, where the monster had once stood was just the figure of the Sheriff, back in his original, albeit frail, form.
The sheriff took a step back and Lian's rapier slid out from his chest.
"You missed my heart, Virtue," said the Sheriff. His voice was light, but firm and a wide, evil smile was spread across his face. "And I have conquered this demon blood. I am the one in control now. I have the power now. The power to kill..."
The Sheriff stopped. He looked towards one of the windows as if he had heard something, and then, out of nowhere, a man burst through the glass. He was a tall man with long, black hair and a thick, pointy mustache. He wore a set of black medieval armor, but lacked a helmet. In one hand he carried a sword and in the other, he carried Arx.
Landing inside the room, he tossed Arx onto the ground.
"G-guys!" muttered Arx, standing to his feet. "This guy, he came out of nowhere! He's--!"
"Father."
The Sheriff stood there in absolute awe at the man in black armor who stood before him. However, the same could not be said for the armored man. There was no love, no mercy in his cold, desolate eyes. He looked at the Sheriff as if he were no more than a slob on the streets.
"You've finally come," muttered the Sheriff, taking a step towards his father. However, the wound inflicted by Lian was still a heavy one, and he could not move fast. That wouldn't matter though, for the Sheriff froze when he saw the end of a blade at his face.
The man in black armor looked at his son right in the eye. "I've come not in praise, boy. I've come because you've done a terrible thing. You've drank the blood of a demon."
The Sheriff looked stunned, confused. "But... But I did it to become strong. To avenge my grandfather, your father! Do you not know who these people are? They are the Virtues! They are the ones who killed my grandfather!"
"Drinking the blood of a demon is not the sin," corrected the man in black armor. He glanced at the large wound in the Sheriff's chest. "It is drinking the blood and sustaining a wound which is the sin. When one drinks the blood of a demon, an injury such as this... It is unacceptable. If you can not control the demon within, then you do not have the luxury of having it at all."
The Sheriff took a step back, away from the end of the blade, but with every step, the man in black armor took a step closer. "What are you talking about? I'm doing this for you! You... you aren't going to kill me... are you?"
"Yes," said the man in black armor. But then, "or no." He looked at all of the people gathered in the building. "I know very well who these people are. Lian, Arx, and M, all of the Seven Virtues. It will be all who is in this room to decide weather I slaughter you where you stand, or let you live to see another day."
The man raised a hand at all of the Virtues, as if waiting for an answer. "Well then, Virtues, what will it be? Cast your vote now. Shall this monster die, or shall he live?"

Harlow’s body shook all over as the beast let out it’s howl. Shook to the very core of his being. The sensation brought him to his knees. “That is quite unpleasant.” He could only watch as the beast attacked Lian, unable to get back to his feet and attack.
It was then that Harlow watched as the beast suddenly seemed to melt and it’s body mold back into that of the Sheriffs’. Finally pushing himself back up from where he knelt Harlow got ready to attack again just as the window broke and Arx and another man came crashing in.
Listening as the man and the Sheriff spoke all Harlow could do was watch for a moment. When it came to decide whether the man should live or die Harlow scratched his head. “Well considering that he only focuses on revenge it would be unwise to just let him wonder about with demon blood in him. His sins are great and I’m unsure if the ring could erase all of it.”
