My face when:
Name: Martin (real name Ruth Winters)
Gender: Female (identifies as male, though)
Age: 26
Birthday: January 10
Homeland: South Blue
Height: 5.5
Weight: Heavy enough
Build: Fairly muscular, but not ripped.
Hair: Short, dark brown
Skin: Coarse, dirty
Eye Color: Green
Blood Type: O
Race: Human
Alliance: Black Spot Pirates
Personality: Cold and serious most of the time, a fairly no nonsense individual. Not afraid to shout at people if he feels people aren’t doing their work.
Weapons: An ordinary boarding ax.
Ship (if any): The Blessed Fortune
Abilities: He knows the complete ins and outs of a ship, and has an expert knowledge of sails and rigging. As the one in charge of the daily maintenance of the ship, he has a great deal of authority over the workers on the crew, and has a clear talent in keeping the other sailors in line. When it comes to how a ship works, Martin is the most experienced pirate on board.
Devil Fruit: None
Rokushiki Ability: None
Attack Names: None
Appearance: Martin has a rough and dirty look, moreso than even his peers, and has a rather carefree way of holding himself. He wears little more than rags most of the time, but generally he wears enough to cover himself as much as possible, for obvious reasons. He often goes barefoot, even when in battle, and wears a bandanna around his head at all times.
Background: Ruth Winters was the bastard daughter of an infamous pirate, who operated in a small circle of islands in the South Blue. Her father was distant most of her life, leaving her to live alone with her mother in poverty, but she didn’t care. She admired her father greatly, and wanted to one day be a part of his crew more than anything. But, when she was very young, he put an end to that dream, when he said that she could never be a part of his crew due to her gender, and completely ignored her after that. This made Ruth angry, and she worked to prove her father wrong, eventually taking up a job as a powder monkey on a small ship when she was twelve. She spent five years on that ship, rising through the ranks of the crew, until she was a full fledged and competent sailor, more confident on the seas than she ever was elsewhere. However, her father, being an extremely old fashioned sort of man, only cursed her unfeminine ways. Now desperate, she cast off her gender, adopted a new name, and, a year later, made one last appeal to her father, and was harshly denied. In disgust, Ruth, now going by the name of Martin and identifying completely as a man, left his home to seek a job as a pirate elsewhere. He was gladly accepted into the crew of Captain Simon Gow, although he was given a rather small job on the ship, and had little chance to prove himself. When Bardsey Singleton entered the crew, Martin was quick to befriend the newcomer, and would later support him in the mutiny. Captain Singleton, knowing Martin’s immense talent, promoted him to the role of Boatswain, a role he fitted extremely well.
Dream: To become a greater pirate than his father ever was.
