I figured this topic could fall in a lot of boards, but this one is probably the best one for it.
About four times a year, I'll budget my spending money and figure out what manga I'll be adding to my collection. I started doing this once I began earning money as a way to reward myself but also give back to the industry.
So what anime or manga are you looking forward to purchasing or receiving? I'll begin.
Recently, a lot of 3-in-1 volumes have made manga easy to collect and affordable. For whatever reason, Viz is republishing D. Gray-man in 3-in-1's, so I've been saving up to get at least the first three of those (volumes 1 to 9).
I've also been looking to collect all of One Piece, but I only wait for sales and other bargains for those. It's been taking me a long time but that only makes it better for me. I'd rather see my collection slowly build rather than drop a ton of money for short gratification. I'm not dissing those who buy in bulk at all. That's just how I like to do it.

I wish I was as smart about manga buying as you, Ceej. I usually just buy stuff sporadically, whenever I feel like I have enough money to do so.
Hoshi no Samidare/Lucifer and the Biscuit Hammer is getting an omnibus release starting this fall, so I'll most certainly be picking this up. Depending on how many total volumes end up being put out, I may just collect the entire series.
Koe no Katachi/A Silent Voice is coming out next Spring, and it's one series that, most likely, I will be collecting all of. Especially since the story is about to end, and there's only about five volumes in Japan so far.
As for series I'm currently collecting, I too am sporadically buying One Piece, though there's lots of volumes I still don't own. I've also been trying to buy all of Vinland Saga, but already I'm pretty behind on that. I also buy Excel Saga volumes whenever I can find it (which is like never) and I'm only five volumes away from owning the entirety of FMA.
I am already running out of shelf space for manga, haha
