I just noticed something at MangaGround after trying to get some inspiration for this new story.
You guys did three more pages of the RPG, even after I left so suddenly. I have to admit, I was somewhat sad reading them. I feel horrible I left you guys so suddenly and without any notice. Even after our time here at this forum, I hope I never do anything like that again. I'm really sorry guys. I hope we can have a bit of fun here to make up for it.

Well we did say we continued without you lol, we didn't have much choice. It's not we got really far though, without its captain the crew just limped to slow but eventual demise. Don't feel bad about it though, you had your reasons. And for what its worth, even if you hadn't left, at that point it was pretty much only the RPs running, really only the One Piece RP at that, so today we'd just playing amidst a mostly dead website, costing Nico spare bucks.
As for when to start, and how to so, I think everything looked good with what you said CJ. I would presume after the first island AFTER the actual first, we can start suggesting places and ideas for plots and story arcs for the crew to do.

Is there any sort of background information on the story/plot?
Example: Is it before or after current One Piece? What's the situation with the various orginzations (World Government, Marines, Yonkou, Shichibukai, Revolutionaries, etc)? And so on and so forth?

If this is going to be remotely anything like the MG RP, then it takes place pre-timeskip, and those groups you mentioned exist pretty much the same. The cannon plot is still taking place, just in another part of the world/ocean.
Something of note though, that while we usually keep things like the Government, Yonkou, etc... the same, sometimes we make character that fit in with them to better suit our needs or help with the story. Like for example, we've had it before where we replaced Shichibukai with original characters in order to better interact with the story (because it's just more interesting and fun if we have our own characters taking part in the plot, rather than trying to place a cannon character that exists in a original plot and portray them effectively and react to situations as we imagine they would). Another example is that we've made up characters as Marines for the purpose of enemies or allies, and simply made them common ranks. I don't think we've ever gone above Vice Admiral though, as at Admiral and above you end up replacing significant characters. Also at one point or another we've had talk of replacing Yonkou with original characters much like Shichibukai, but we've never really got around to it because none of the RPs have ever gone so long as to reach the New World. Perhaps we can change it with this.
As a rule of thumb I'd just say, if you want to make a character that fits in any of these roles (Shichibukai, Yonkou, Marine, Government, Revolutionary, etc...), then go ahead and make them, and then the mod can determine if it's appropriate for your character. If it is, then you're good to go, if not they they'll work to make your character appropriate as best they can.

Yeah, usually we won't introduce canon characters into the story line unless there is a general demand for them.
I'll start the thread later today (you can't rush these things, cdf XD). After that, I'll repost the rules.
With this RPG, the most important things to remember are: post only after everyone else has posted (or after a two day period) and don't go into God Mode, which basically means you can't hurt an individual's character without prior consent.
So instead of setting up an attack as: "Bob punched Joe in the face" it would be "Bob reached forward to punch Joe in the face," to give Joe's player a choice to react. Of course, it's not expected for characters to dodge every attack. It's all based on trust really.
EDIT: I lied. I posted the rules first. They were edited from inverted_Hex's rules at MG. If you guys have any suggestions for additions or changes, please post about em'.

Oh, I guess I meant just wait your turn. I should probably expand on the rule a bit. It's more of a suggestion than anything else.
If two characters are interacting with each other, it's alright to post one after another. I guess one could simply the rule as to: don't post too much. So if the entire crew is taking part in one scene, let everyone post so your character doesn't control the scene.

Ah right, I was thinking that's what you meant, but couldn't be sure. Good stuff.
Are we allowed to make threads in this section for various purposes, like a plot ideas/brainstorming thread, or an NPC character thread should the need arise? I'm not planning on going out and making 50 threads, but I'd like to know the policy on that in case we need to for whatever reason.

Yep, that's perfectly fine. If it was necessary to, we could also keep a thread to keep a record of Devil Fruits and other powers. It'll all come with time I suppose.

Aww hell year is it going to be multiple threads instead of one big thread? I always liked that format the best.

Yep. That way we can find older arcs easier. I'll likely do it by island (or split it into two if the arc is a bit longer). Also, I won't always be the one to start threads depending on who is running the arc.
