I like the third option the best. Course whatever occurs I'll be good with.

They could have memories similar to the ones from the RPG but only on a personal level, like they were on a team together, rather than: "Remember that one time we watched Regala explode." I was thinking of this, it sounds good.

Alright, as it stands now we're going to go with the third option. If there are any objections, please say so. I will announce later when we're actually going to start this thing.
I'm going to post the Character Creation thread soon. If you talk to another member to establish connections with characters, please put that somewhere in the profile. If the connection is established, please PM me or put it in the discussion thread so we know it exists. This is simply so we're not confused as to who knows each other or not in the story.
Also, anyone have any ideas where we should start this thing? Shark had the suggestion of starting somewhere close before the New World. I was thinking of starting the characters on a Loguetown-like fictional island but I'd rather have some opinions than jump right into it.
EDIT: I guess I have to post the rules something... o.o

What I never said that lol.
I said, in the MG RP, after you left the crew continued on until about one island before the New World. That's not where I wanted to start though, I'm completely fine, and would rather start further back. Now when you say Loguetown, you mean before the actual Grand Line, yes?
As for who knows who, Sam is Mr. Dark's slave or something, and I would like it if Kusu and Sam at least know each other. Partly so I don't have to reintroduce her to the captain again, but mostly because it gives me a chance to do a story arc I've always wanted to do, which we could get to at some point.

Sorry for the assumption, I hate when I get things wrong like that.
And no, I mean an environment like it. A sort of town with no general theme to get the plot moving. It could be anywhere in the Grand Line really.
I wouldn't have a problem with Kusu and Sam knowing each other beforehand. The only thing I really wanted to change about Kusu was her origin. I always felt it was unfair to make her a race unbeknownst to the One Piece universe. I also wanted to explore more options with a Parakeet model Devil Fruit. Would that be alright with whatever you had planned, Shark?

I like option 2 and 3 really only because I don't have an old character from OPHQ or MG. However, whatever you guys rather do is fine. I also suggest the last two options in case this forum somehow manages to kick off and get new members, it'd be easier for them to jump in.
I was always intimidated to join the OP roleplay you guys had, since you'd all been doing it with the same characters for so long.
Also: I'm too lazy to sign in. This is cdf.

Well we always welcome new characters, and by starting anew, it should open up the playing field at least to people interested.
As for what's going on with Kusu, that's fine by me CJ. I can't see how it would alter any of the past, backstory or whatever else, apart from Kusu not being able to call her cousin anymore. Unless of course she does.

Hey there, cdf!
Yep. I'll place something in the description of the board of this forum to make it clear we always welcome new players.
Hm. The only reason I could see her still calling Sam "cousin" would be that Kusu thinks of herself as a bird. I guess she would even if it were because of a Devil Fruit so yeah, I could still see it happening.

Even though I don't know how much time I'll have for MB, or an RP, I favor starting from scratch and coming up with a completely new back story and characters. (Not that you can't use characters from before, but that you could change things up and if you want take things in a new direction)

I think we've decided on option 3. That's nice.
All of the characters posted are approved if you guys didn't get your messages.
We have five character sheets so far (six if you count the Takai/Kizuna combination). How many characters do you guys think we should have before we begin playing?

Well I can make a character or two, I just don't know what would be best. Is there a crew I should join or something? I don't know where we are plot-wise and everything.

We're pretty much starting from scratch, just some people are using old characters. So you're in pretty much the same position as everyone else. I would imagine you can join the crew that is likely going to form at the start of this RP.
As for character, you can make whatever you want really, feel free to look at some of the characters who have already been made or are approved. As well, feel free to ask anyone if you need help with anything, or would like to have some connection to any of the characters for simplicities sake.
We're pretty helpful here, so don't feel like this is any sort of daunting task. It's pretty much our job to make sure everyone finds this easy, fun, and interesting to play.

We have 8 members and 6 characters, last I checked, i think we can start now since we won't be getting much more members i'm assuming.

I'm going to have it so that Mr. Dark had those adventures with the old crew. I'm just clarifying some things first before I post anything to do with the Phantom Hawks.

Yeah, cdf, don't worry about getting confused. Ask us anything when the time comes. There are seriously no dumb questions. This kind of RPG can be confusing at first.
And Kuro, just read the end of Kusu's background to see what I did to address the MG problem. I could place Mr. Dark in the characters already mentioned there for you.
We could start tomorrow if you guys would be up for it. It seems like we have enough characters to begin. This doesn't mean people aren't still welcome to join.
The introduction would include a reason for all the characters to be where they are and an action sequence to get players immediately involved. We could place the island at an unspecific part in the Grand Line to continue at another, perhaps canonical, location. How does that sound for everyone?
