This thread is basically a need-to-know summary about the main crew, for anyone wanted to learn more about them, or interested in joining. There will be outlined, a brief history of the various incarnations the crew has gone through, as well as certain important characters, and finally the crew themselves under the current iteration.
(A recurring term, OPRP, is an abbreviation for "One Piece Roleplay")
---
Each of the various RP's has been separated by about a year in story time, from one crew disbanding to the next forming;
Originally the main crew began as the Thistlewood Pirates in the first OPRP, which followed the canon storyline, and basically went through the plot the Strawhats did, but as their own characters, actions and conversations. While the general storyline was followed, things tended to diverge from the canon plot since there were a good few members with different personalities and many different motives. This OPRP lasted awhile, but eventually came to a close when the actual site the RP was hosted on shut down. The crew made it as far as Water 7 in the canon storyline, and effectively disbanded thereafter.
The next iteration of the OPRP was known as the Phantom Hawks, and was something of a rough continuation from where the previous RP left off, except that this time around the story and plot were all original and made by fellow players. With some members from the old crew as well as some brand new members, this OPRP went to some pretty diverse lands and faced plenty of challenges. Perhaps the most important event which came to define the crew at least in the public eye, was the destruction of a country called Regala. Although a shadow organization was responsible for this, the main crew took all the blame, and thereafter drew the ire of the authorities. This time around, the OPRP almost reached the Red Line to cross over to the New World, but fell short when the site hosting the RP was as well shut down. This time it was by choice however, so the players were able to provide a conclusive finish to the Phantom Hawks OPRP and more or less conclude things for their characters.
The iteration of the OPRP after that, was the current one. Currently known as the Feather Pirates, as with the previous RP, it has been formed out of some older members and some brand new ones. Coming together once again, the new main crew has started out, but has considerably backtracked some from where the previous RP ended. Thus far, the crew formed on a sleepy merchant island, traveled across a rough patch of ocean on a ferry, which subsequently sunk in a storm leaving the crew to struggle for their lives across a hazardous island. After escaping the island, the crew wound up trapped inside a domed nation of steam-driven technology and populated by sociopaths or psychopaths depending on who you ask. That has been the most recent storyline, and the crew is just about wrapping it up now with the destruction of the domed nation.
In terms of the setting proper, public opinion and knowledge of the various crews has differed overtime. The Thistlewood pirates, following the story of the Strawhats and reaching Water 7, were a fairly well-known rookie crew that were shut down before their time in a flashy finale. The Phantom Hawks became a world recognized threat for their blame of the destruction of a nation, and because of this, became known less as a pirate crew and more as a terrorist cell by the authorities, even if they were and remained a pirate crew in practice. Since this crew disbanded quietly and more or less faded away, memory of them in the public mind remains faint at best except in certain places such as Regala. The Feather Pirates, having been formed of the remnants of the Phantom Hawks have thus far more or less been able to operate under the radar, however authority figures have placed a vested interest in them due to their destructive past. Because of this, in the public eye the crew is currently more or less unheard of beyond the various few people who remember their pasts, however as far as the authorities are concerned the crew is a potential major threat and to be heavily monitored.

Some important characters to the ongoing OPRP main crew over the years, who are no longer around but have affected the history;
- Thistlewood, the original founder captain, a notable pirate in his own right. Though he wasn't the best at anything, including being captain, he had a profound influence on the way the RP ran and the crews were organized and functioned.
- Nick, who guided the formation of the second RP crew, and member of the shadow organization who framed them for the destruction of a nation. Effectively he mentored the newly formed Phantom Hawks to stability, at the cost of infamy. His actions created solidarity among the unstable, new crew.
- Takai, a warrior of dragonic lineage, and his companion Kizuna, a trickster fox entity. Together from even the first RP, they were some of the most influential and consistently involved characters in the RP. Complicated in nature, the duo served as a fairly consistent moral compass for all of the crews of the various RPs.
- Samantha, a fishperson down on her luck, and one of the most ardent supporters of the Phantom Hawks. Gave her life in the canon War of the Best in the hopes of reuniting the crew, and contributed in various ways to the public image of the later two RP crews.
- Uzo, elder brother to Kusu, with time travel abilities. Initially designed as a check and balance method to the first RP to keep the story in line, Uzo became a regular meddler in the plot of the various main crews, and at times an enabler to their formations. Is, and has been one of the Shichibukai since the first RP.
- Morrison, a sentient cat who became metal after certain events. Originally part of the Phantom Hawks, he left to go his own way. Although his impact was not particularly huge, his following of both the Phantom Hawks and now the Feather Pirates has become something of an obsession, which may develop into a quest for vengeance against the crew in time.
---
The current crew members, the characters and a simple run down as to what they have done thus far, or might be known publicly for;
- Kusu R. Kidd, the tentative captain of the current main crew and the previous one. A young child with a devil ability of a bird, Kusu has traditionally been easygoing and lighthearted, though in light of certain events throughout the various RPs, has come to know a more serious world and to adopt an appropriate demeanor. Of all the crew, she's the most likely to be known publicly as a pirate, since over the years she's been through some prolific events oft publicized.
- Mr. Dark, the perennial schemer and man behind the curtain. Over the course of the RPs, the shady doctor has been involved to various degrees with the different crews. Currently however, he acts as Kusu's mentor and something of an organizer to the crew. He has a devil power based on fear.
- Lynwood, a tribal scout from a hunter society. A new addition to the RP, although she was a helpful and caring individual, she essentially went mad and lost her mind. Although still part of the crew, it remains to be seen, as to what the nature is of the new identity she has adopted to fill the void.
- Kalen, a backwards shepherd from humble beginnings, and new addition to the RP. Eager to lead but denied the chance, Kalen usually has a straightforward approach and runs headlong into situations. Naive in nature, although his ideas are usually brash or ill-planned, they are also usually at least somewhat reasonable.
- Karalisk Valdiensk, an arrogant superhuman exiled prince from a faraway land, and veteran of the previous RP. Despite lacking any powers, Kara has exceeded the peak of human potential through endless training and superior birth. His arrogance makes him a liability at times however, and he is entirely unpredictable. Less a crew member and more a chaotic force drifting along after them, he nevertheless demands note here as being a major presence in the RP. Of all the main characters he's the most likely to be well known simply because of his background, hailing from the warrior nation of Coryphaues, a superpower in the RP setting.
