I love Hito just because of how simple but true he was. But I think Wolf has been developed much further than any other character in this RP or any other RP I've been in. So he is my favorite.

My favorite... hngh, that's pretty hard. It's really between Hil and Connor.
I'd likely have to go with dear Hilbrand though. This is probably because Hito came up with the concept of Shitty Sword in the first place. I can't really say that for any of my other characters. Looking back, I probably would have made Hil a much different character if I wrote him now. I guess the nostalgia makes him work though.

I have a question aimed towards anyone participating in the war thread; what inspired you to create your nation or what was the reason you made it? Basically, why and how you made your RP nation, and for what purpose? The character, Slythe Arkady, came before the creation of the nation. I imagined Slythe as an arrogant, mocking villain king who specialized in the war industry. The RP Nation thread had me think of what his nation was actually like, although a little while before the thread I had thought of his "nation" actually being the corporate Arkady Industries. I wanted steampunk, so I made Arkady Industries a steampunk empire. I made Slythe Arkady out of just a wandering mind and imagination, and I made the nation for the purpose of the first Meeting Thread on this forum. I wanted to participate in the thread, and it snowballed from there. What are everyone's own favorite character? That is, out of the character you have/made, which is your favorite? Mr. Dark. I don't have many characters to begin with, and Mr. Dark was my first with you guys. For a long while, I never really thought about making other characters. I thought a lot about his character, interactions, mannerisms, and what he would do. I really like him as a character, although he is a psychopath. I have changed him (hopefully and most likely for the better) over the years and now think he is the type of character I originally aimed for back on OPHQ: Cold, calculating, cool, powerful, and manipulative, all without an excess of trying to make him seem sympathetic, one of my habits in the previous forums.
Mr. Dark looked at the papers on the clipboard in his hands and stenciled a few check marks onto it while looking at his patient from time to time. Kusu sat in a chair next to him, her wrist now wrapped in bandages. A small accident and nothing more, but he was still not going to leave any cut, minor or otherwise, be left untended. He had also taken the opportunity to check her growth levels, weight, and general condition, hence the paperwork. That was his policy with all of the crewmembers whenever they were not in dangerous adventures, and sailing on a ship in the open sea with nothing around them did not qualify as a dangerous adventure. Finished writing the medical report that he made for his own organization and purposes with every check-up, he put the clipboard away in a drawer and looked at the child in the chair. Suddenly, he saw an odd opportunity to ask what he thought to be an interesting question, something he sensed he would have in much supply for those around him. "Kusu. Do you wish that I was nicer? That I was not so 'scary' or serious? Do you wish that I was friendlier or something such as that?"His voice didn't change from his monotone as he asked the odd question and it was as if he asked the question in a bored, uninterested way. Then again, Kusu would most likely have gotten used to such a tone by now and realized that it didn't always reflect his thoughts on a situation.

Kusu spun around in the chair and stared at the sneakers on her feet. She snickered as she went round and round. She stopped at the man's question and blinked her wide eyes.
"Oh, you're not scary like "scary," sqwee. I wouldn't hang out with you if you were."
She gripped onto the sides of the chair impatiently.
"I've learned the difference between good mean and bad mean. Hil, for example, he's good mean. Kara, bad mean. Sometimes when someone's too nice, it could mean they're not really nice at all. I hope you learn to smile on your own time, Mr. Dark. Don't force it for me or anyone else though, sqwee."

General: How do you feel about sharing your RP experiences (not just here) with other people? Is it embarrassing? Not a big deal? Same as Hito or Shark, I never talk about it. Not out of shame or anything, just that nobody else I know is into that sorta thing, so I wouldn't have much to talk about.

What are everyone's own favorite character? That is, out of the character you have/made, which is your favorite? Kara, I don't think he should be though. He is incredibly flawed as far as character design goes; his character has hardly any depth to it, he is way too independent for an RP character, which leads to him just doing his own things the most of time and has some very lazy design choices, most notably constant swearing because I didn't know how to make him sound very aggressive otherwise. Even still he is just very fun to write as he is as over the top as a character can be and just simply very silly in general. Also he is so ridiculously overpowered that it allows me to use very unconventional solutions to obstacles. Velnius is very fun to write as well, even though he ended up being a bit different than originally planned. In general I like to write silly things. General: How do you feel about sharing your RP experiences (not just here) with other people? Is it embarrassing? Not a big deal? I tried to talk about RP with friends years ago and came to the conclusion they don't care. Haven't done that since then.

To answer my own question: I am typically nervous about showcasing my writing. It's the same thing when it comes to RPing. My friends and siblings know I roleplay but, like with my other writing, I don't share much of it at all.

Since favorite has own been asked I think this should as well: What's everyone's least favorite character written by themselves? To keep it a little more interesting only out of characters that are still at least somewhat relevant today so no characters that have been retconned or writen out of the story long ago.

To answer Mise: Beth has always been the hardest character for me to write. It seems like I can never get her personality right. I've had to reduce her powers soooooooo much when I transitioned her from an NPC to a normal character.
Kizuna: Do you poop?

Three pairs of eyes twitch at some of the questions on the sheet I am holding. I turn to Takai and Kizuna.
"Who's gonna field the questions about you two?" Kizuna waves her hand, sighing.
"Alright, first of all, Shark, that gag's getting old."
"Yeah, you're beating a dead horse with that one. If you were to be beat with a dead horse, at least that would be original..." Takai pipes in.
"Ignoring the random ramblings of my fiancé, yes, we CAN interbreed. I doubt you missed the future arc back at MG, and we DID have daughter there, so that answers your question. *sigh* And yes, CJ, I do poop, as does any being with a metabolism..."
I cough. "As for my favourite RP char, well, we each have our own, with me having several. One would be Dark, to me, he's the personification of the phrase "dark is not necessarily evil", even if he may seem like it. The others are Takai (DUH!), since i have a lot of plans for him, even outside the RP-verse, and K, my most mysterious char. What is he, or is K a she? Well, I have my reasons for not telling anything..."
Takai and Kizuna nod at each other. "Ours is Kusu, easily. You can't help but like her, really, can't even be mad at her permanently. She could run me through with a sword and I'd still like her... Our least favourite..."
We all talk in unison "Kara." 'nuff said...
"And yes, I frequently talk about the RP with my friends. They're interested, but they SUCK at English, so yeah, it's not for them..."
------------------------------------
"Now, I got a question of my own: What inspired you to create your chars and their abilities? Was there a past version you built on, did they already exist before the RP, and so on.
Answering my own question: I am a mythology nut, especially when it comes to dragons and japanese mythology, kitsune have caught my eye in particular, shapeshifters who love pranks, but would rarely harm a human intentionally. Sure, there are stories where they do so, but everything has two sides, right? Kizuna is what I think a kitsune is, based on everything I read. Friendly, mischievous, loyal once you gain their loyalty, a little flirty (at least with Takai), and a mistress of illusions and kitsune abilities in general.
What fascinates me about dragons is how similar yet different the western and eastern beliefs about dragons are. In one, Christianity especially, they're labled as creatures of the devil, of evil and in the other, they're revered as guardian deities or at least as powerful beings that are neither evil nor good.
And, while I'm not a practitioner of Chaos Magic (yes, there are those who believe in this, one group called the "Illuminati of Thanateros"), I enjoy the thought about the existance of a power that acts as the driving force behind evolution, a power behind events and things which cause us to adapt and grow, basically a mystification of the Chaos Theory. And to me, the greatest amount of Chaos always appears where two fundamentally different things come together, hence Takai using Light and Darkness as the base of his powers, two forces that couldn't be anymore different from each other, yet cannot exist without each other."
"*cough*....I got carried away again, right?"
Takai and Kizuna nod. "Yep." "You did."
"Damn, sorry..."

"Wow, Mr. Kyubey has had a lot of general questions for himself, hasn't he?""Yeah! I wanna answer some questions, too!"I am a little disappointed that all my notes seem to be going to waste."This is entirely wrong in every conceivable fashion, I shall have you all know!"Since favorite has own been asked I think this should as well: What's everyone's least favorite character written by themselves? To keep it a little more interesting only out of characters that are still at least somewhat relevant today so no characters that have been retconned or writen out of the story long ago. Kusu. My least favorite is Kusu. And my least favorite is you, Morrison. Can I have this post back, please? Fine."Now, I got a question of my own: What inspired you to create your chars and their abilities? Was there a past version you built on, did they already exist before the RP, and so on. Honestly, this is why I'm so amazed that the "Ky has the best characters" joke lasted so long, because my method of character creation is incredibly flippant and I don't take it seriously at all. The vast majority of my characters come from really stupid ideas from the top of my head, like, "What if there was a character who was just an ordinary cat?" or, "Hey, a Tea Fruit! That could work!" Other times, my characters come from my own personal interests, such as Celtic/Nordic mythology, and old-fashioned pirates. Once I have a basic idea in mind, I build off that until I come to something I think is at least interesting enough to justify putting into the RP. The sad thing is, I have these sorts of ideas a lot, which is why I have such a large multitude of characters. But don't worry, I never make a character unless I think the basic concept is solid enough to support continued posting. I guess the most interesting creative process is that of the Gravel Enthusiasts Fanclub, which I'm sure you've all heard by now but I think it's worth writing down here anyways. Basically, Shark came to me asking to make some characters as enemies for his upcoming arc, which I became rather upset about, because when I asked for clarification and specifics to build on, he flat-out refused. So in retaliation, I created the most ridiculous profiles I could think of, all built around the stupidest concept that popped into mind, (gravel enthusiasm) in an attempt to force him to be more specific. It didn't work like I thought it would.

"Alright, first of all, Shark, that gag's getting old."
That gag is NEVER going to get old. I mean lets be honest here, it's one of the oldest, consistent, and still funniest gags we have in this RP. At least as old as OPRP. --- I don't really have a least favorite character, at least not one I can think of. If ever I have a character I don't like or don't enjoy playing, I change them so that I do enjoy playing them. This isn't a sudden change though usually, I try to institute it overtime. Hence why most if not all of my characters, if you look at them, change quite a bit over the course of their stories and lives. Like real people, really, I try to emulate that. I kind of don't like that most of my characters are muted in their personalities, at least in relation to conflict. That's not to say that I don't like that facet about them or that I don't like those characters. It's just that sometimes it gets a little bit annoying when things happen in the RP and you can't really react to them proportionately. A recent and glaring example is the meeting thread, when Slythe attacked Jack. By nature of Jack's personality, he didn't and wouldn't react to Slythe in kind. However he very easily could have, and sometimes it's fun to just imagine a character going all out in response to someone. It's just sad that none of my characters ever get to do that, because most of them are reasonable people, and even the unreasonable or even unhinged characters are not just mindless killers. Gun to my head, I never really liked Kalendra, but not for the reason people might think. Really, it's just that she had much potential to grow and change, but the OPRP died off so she never got that chance. In the end she just came off as the token dumb blonde nymphomatic bimbo, really one dimentional, and in the end she just ended up dying. I think only like one other person here actually knows some of the stuff I planned for Kalendra, and I'm glad they never shared or spoiled it for other people because I prefer Kalendra to have the exposure she had and for people to know that, rather than to know what could have happened but never did. I think it's better that way. It was never really the intention for thigns to go that way for her, but it does serve as a potent lesson for me. Basically how I shouldn't make plans that will take too long to happen, because we work and play in a very fickle environment here and you can never know if a site or an RP will just suddenly die, and all that work and planning you made just goes to waste. Also, that I don't share plans or secrets with people. --- The reason the gravel club ploy didn't work, is because of the reason above. Ever since, I no longer play things on my sleeves in the RP, and I distinctly do not share things with other people. I'm not sure how other people may feel about that, but I know how I feel about that, which is that the RP is better that way. My proof? Anything I do in the RP that people like, is because of planning that comes to fruition and people get to see that when it does, rather than learning about it before. I learned the hard way, that giving up secrets no matter how they might benefit from exposure, invariably ruin their overall intent. The intent which is, to provide other people with as great surprises, situations, and writing as possible. There isn't anything I love more than constructing some neat ploy or twist or situation, and watching people reply or go "HOLY SHIT". I love that. It's why I do it so much, and it's why my writing is so saturated with it. I try really hard to plan things, and it may not be apparent at first, but I incorporate it in all my posts. Really. ALL of them. I guatantee that if you go through and read any single one of my RP posts, you will find little clues and tidbits that allude to some bigger mystery or secret. The more carefully you read them or look for them and pay attention, the more you will notice this and you might even be able to guess or solve these mysteries for yourself. It's best when the secrets come to pass or the twists happen, and then people can go back and see that it was built up and alluded to, however subtley, since months or even years prior. Whether it was something someone said offhandedly in the very first thread, or something someone noticed overtime. Great stuff like that only happens when secrets remain secret, and what was once supposed to be the best secret ever, got spoiled for the person it mattered most to, and it lost all of that appeal and charm that I love so much. Of course in all of this I have to take a step back and look at things objectively. I may just be getting all sentimential, and reading too much into my own style. I might be overstepping myself, but at the very least I like to believe that I give people interesting things to react to and provide at least not terrible threads and plots. I wouldn't say I'm some great storyteller or writer, but I do try. I try alot and I hope it pays off, no matter how much or little, even if it is only for just one other person. Regardless, is it such a bad thing that my not giving up information, led to the creation of the gravel club? Can anyone say they aren't great? Least not of all, the fact that I control the only two members left lel.
