This is without the edits that Shark made to the giant template. I will probably not add those edits.
Historical Details
Name: Arkady Industries (sometimes known as Arkady or AI)
Age: The original Armada Enterprises business on which it was founded on was formed somewhere between 250-275 years ago, and even that was a conglomerate of smaller businesses who have varying dates of inception. Arkady Industries has lasted for 38 years.
Formation: The original businesses that were involved in the creation of Armada Enterprises have varying dates of creation, at least, for those that even have recorded dates of creation. The specific day on which the businesses, all of which provided differing services, formed together to become Armada Enterprises is lost in the sands of time; it can only be said that it happened almost 300 years ago and that they most likely fused with each other in the name of profit. Thirty-eight years ago, the man known as Slythe Arkady took over the company and drastically changed its system, image, and even name, turning it into the well-known Arkady Industries of today.
Advancement: The empire is rather advanced. Steam-powered technology is their forte and the secrets of it have not been revealed to any customer, no matter the offer. The steam-powered technology gives Arkady Industries a vast multitude of delicious toys: Jetpacks, automatons, enhancing battle-armor, and more. Their weapons are also top-notch, with things like gatling guns and large land cannons. The lands under their control are full of large factories with complex machines that assist the workers; not androids or anything so outlandish, but a multitude of cranes, conveyor belts, and the such can be found in any given factory.
Personality: Very social and has been known to be not picky at all in its choice of clients or territories and has engaged in trade with almost every country that has ever asked for such, if the corporation itself did not ask first. It does whatever it can to make a profit and focuses on the economy of other countries first and foremost. Despite its role as the major supplier of war materials in the world, it is not very agressive in its seizure of new territories; its usual course of action is to engage in prosperous trade with a desirable land and then finally buy the government off, taking the land as part of the trade. It has not yet engaged in any wars with other countries, but with the vast amount of weaponry and resources, at its disposal, perhaps that is for the best.
Flag: The flag has a black circular razor blade on it with a black cross-hairs in the middle, although the razor blade can be said to seem incomplete, as if it was more akin to a pointy creature curling up. (Picture coming soon)
National Symbols: The razor-crosshairs symbol on the flag is the main symbol of the corporation and serves as their logo and signature; any object with that symbol imprinted on it can usually be called a possession or product of Arkady Industries.
National Holidays: Some holidays indigenous to the annexed lands are allowed, depending on how disruptive it could be to working. Arkady Day is celebrated: The date of when the glorious and magnificent Slythe Arkady became ruler of Armada Enterprises and turned it into what it is today. On this holiday, there is no work except for high-priority things. People may celebrate as they choose, if it is not too harmful.
Historic Events: Besides Arkady Day, none really; the formation of steam-powered technology was revealed on the same day that Slythe Arkady became the C.E.O.
Historic Role: Armada Enterprises was a modest business and a business only, but Arkady Industries is an empire run by business. It is the number one supplier of war-related materials in the world and while there is no definite proof, it has doubtless that it has pushed some countries to the brink of war so that the war corporation could profit. Whenever any major fight happens, even if it is but a civil war, Arkady Industries is usually there like an ever-present fanner of the flames, eagerly supplying both sides of the conflict and not caring which way the conflict ends. It is also one of the most if not the most profitable, riches, and successful corporations in the world, somewhat because of the fact that it is an empire with many lands. Arkady Industries is still not thought of by others as a real country, empire, or ruling body in any way; many still think of it as just a business, albeit a ludicrously successful one at that.
History: See Formation. In the thirty-eight years it has lived, Arkady Industries has become a ridiculously successful and powerful business empire that has aggressively annexed the lands near it in a small amount of time. The steam-powered technology was first revealed on the day when Armada Enterprises turned into Arkady Industries.
Geographic Details
All vary throughout the many lands of the empire, but the empire in general is in a cold part of the world where snow is very common, even in what may be hotter days for other parts of the world. Go to the lands of Arkady Industries in any time of the year and there is a very large chance that it will be snowing when you get there. In winter time, there are full-out blizzards and snow-storms where its hard to see a few feet in front of you.
Political Details
Government: Arkady Industries is run more like a business than a country since it really is a business first and foremost, although there are several differences between the system of an average business and AI. At the very top of the ruling ladder, there is the C.E.O, who has vast power over the empire and is only limited by the Board of Executives, which is made up of eight members at any given time and can override any of the C.E.O's decisions if every member chooses to do so. While similar to an average Board of Directors, the Board of Executives is different from that of an average business because in Arkady Industries, the C.E.O is vastly superior in rank and power to the B.O.E and only keeps them around as advisors and the managers of various divisons unlike the average business, in which the B.O.D is what the C.E.O reports to.
Each member (who have the individual title of Executive Vice President) of the B.O.E is the manager, not leader, of a divison of the company and reports to the C.E.O. Each Executive Vice President has three Chief Officers who report to him or her and who each manage seperate parts of the divison. Each Chief Officer has a multitude of managers operating under him or her.
Organization: See "Government".
Powerbase: Contracts. The word "contract" is a powerful thing in Arkady Enterprises, a very powerful thing indeed. Of course, people are usually promoted by proving their worth. Bribes and blackmail do happen, however.
Establishment: Arkady Industries and its citizens do not place much emphasis on political views, but on different ways as to how a run a business. Such creative thinking is allowed sometimes even implemented, but the view that will likely be enforced is the view of the C.E.O, whatever that view be. The empire has a very strong grip on its possessions and in its relatively small lifespan has not lost yet a single land that it has laid claim to. Rebellions are small and easily crushed before they can bear any fruit.
Enforcement: The laws are enforced by the police force of Arkady Industries, known as the Division of Human Resources. Those in that division are spread across the empire and enforce the laws much as any police would. There is not much different in this part of government than there is in most; government makes laws, police "enforce them" accordingly.
Age: Armada Enterprises is almost 300 years old and the original pieces that made it up have either varying ages or no known age at all. The drastically changed version of Armada Enterprises, Arkady Industries, has existed for thirty-eight years.
Seat: Armada Towers is the headquarters of Arkady Industries. Here is where the Board of Executives meet and where the C.E.O issues his commands. In these towers, work on data and management instead of actual factory work is done.
Capital: The average-sized island of Victoria is the capital of Arkady Industries and holds the headquarters of the corporation, Armada Towers.
Divisions: Each annexed nation is referred to as a Sector, with each sector having a number according to order of annexation, such as Sector 001 and Sector 011, and the such.
Cities: Seeing as it is an empire of many lands, several major cities and countless average cities.
Economy: Beli is the currency. It is a currency-based economy in which everything is run by the same corporation and everyone is striving to get to the top.
Citizenship: All citizens are referred to as employees. One becomes an employee either by being born within the lands that AI owns, alreadly living in the land when it is annexed, or by being turning in an employment form and being accepted.
Individual Rights: The employees of Arkady Industries care little for politics, but are free to turn in suggestions of business to their superiors and are encouraged to think of new ways to make more money. The employees do not vote their superiors into office. Employees are chosen to be of a certain rank through promotions given by their superiors. One should not think of living in the empire of Arkady Industries as living in a country, they should think of it as working for a company and sleeping on its land. One can expect adequate care and safety, but only if they are good employees; insurgents will be punished quite severely. Expect long work hours and having your life revolve around the closest factory. On the plus side, Arkady Industries make a lot of money and so do its employees, although that is not as true for those of the lowest rung of the corporate ladder.
National Laws: Nothing too far from the norm; there is the fact that all those who live in the lands of Arkady Industries must work as employees or be taught to be employees. You're either working or you're learning how to work.
National Tax: Nothing too eye-catching.
National Policy: Arkady Industries is, first and foremost, a business, and the empire is treated as such. Productivity is extremely important to the corporation and there is certain to be a job for absolutely everyone, for no employee will be wasted, regardless of whether or not the job should be performed by any human being. Making money is also very important for obvious reasons, more important than any shadow of politics or nationalism. The industry is the priority, for it is all one big corporation.
International Policy: With the exception of the extremely xenophobic capital, Victoria, Arkady Industries is a very social empire that offers to trade with most countries and seems rather friendly, although it is rumored that it has purposefully engineered conflicts in nations so that they would be much more interested in A.I's destructive wares.
International Involement: Arkady Industries is not a part of the World Government, although it is trading with it. It is a new and significant empire that has taken the role of a war-items supplier to those who would fight others and has probably elevated small fights to those of civil wars and major conflicts so that it can profit. It is in trade with most nations of the world and is important to the economies of many nations.
Military: It has a military known as the Division of Interest Protection, which, thanks to the size of the empire, is very large and very well-equipped, although its troops lack experience. Although the Executive Vice President of the Division of Interest Protection manages it, the C.E.O is the Supreme Commander of the forces and his word is law. Under the Executive Vice President of the D.I.P are his three Chief Officers, who each command a third of the army under the E.V.P's management. Each Chief Officer has a multitude of officers of various ranks who report to him or her.
Military Composition: The military is made up of those who deal in the Division of Interest Protection. The higher-ups can choose to switch any employee into the D.I.P. One could apply to switch from their division into the Division of Interest Protection. It is made up of humans, mostly male by a large amount; female soldiers are rare, but there. The army also has automatons in its ranks, lifeless machines that can move and kill without any sort of pilot. The age of the troops range from early twenties to old forties and fifthies.
Military Importance: Despite their involvement in the business of war, the military of Arkady Industries is not very significant to the empire at large; it is definitely more than adequate in quality, but it does not draw much attention from the employees of the empire it fights for unless it is war time and the government does not talk much about the military. It is not as if they are flat-out ignoring it though.
Military Advancement: Since Arkady Industries keeps its steam-powered technology to itself, its military is very advanced. The automaton is an example of such advancement; it comes in some different forms, but the most common type is a large, human-ish, mechanical thing that has no pilot and is outfitted with a flame-thrower and a Gatling gun, which it can carry and thus render mobile. There are several of these in the army and the human troops have aspects of the advanced technology as well. There are steam-powered jetpacks that can send a man flying into the air above his enemies, there are the battle-armors that greatly enhance the strength, speed, and of course defense of the ones wearing them, more Gatling guns, etc. The guns themselves, such as rifles and pistols, are top-notch. There are also blimps that can drop bombs and large cannons stationed on land rather than ships, oddly enough to the world. There are rumors that Victoria holds even more advanced weaponry.
Military Strength: The military has not yet had a chance to prove itself since conflicts had so far been solved through business practices, but it is thought to be a rather strong military moreso out of its advanced technology and massive size than out of skill or experience.
Military Strategy: A.I's first and foremost way of battle is business. They participate in good, wealthy trade with several nations and has a powerful grip on the weapons industry. Along with their vast wealth, they are very good at crashing economies and sending enemy nations into poverty by using their influence to make sure that the enemy nation will not see another coin from trade. In conflicts that Arkady Industries has had so far, mainly of wanting to annex a country that has no intent on being annexed, actual military force was rarely ever used. Instead, Arkady Industries discovered who was trading with the country and did various things to make sure that no one would want to trade with it. Sometimes, they threatened to stop trading with those who traded with the enemy nation, if the merchant relied on trade with A.I. Other times, they sent mercenaries or pirates to sack any ships that would trade with the enemy nation, and of course, the mercenaries would not show themselves to be associated with A.I in any way. The only times that Arkady Industries had to use military force were in various uprisings that occured in the empire, and A.I quickly crushed these rebellions with purposefully excessive shows of power that intimidated those who would dare to learn from the rebel's example. Of course, A.I does have a military force, but it would most likely be reluctant to use it in any active war, preferring to fight through the economy first.
Cultural Details
Population: A lot.
Ethnicities: The lands that Arkady Industries owns all appear to be made up of mostly humans. There is the occasional nonhuman citizen here and there.
Sex Ratio: Mostly male, but not by a large margin at all. It is almost equal. Nothing significant.
Languages: Common is used, and Arkady Industries really couldn't care less about what dialects the Sectors use, as long as they are not too confusing or unintelligible.
Religion: It varies; Arkady Industries does not encourage any religion in particular and seems to not really care about it. It does manipulate the religions to encourage productivity and loyalty to Arkady Industries.
Growth: The empire is growing at a very impressive rate; in only thirty-eight years, the empire had more than quintupled its reach; it roughly grew a little more than five times its original amount. The population growth varies from Sector to Sector, but it seems to be growing at a steady, unimpressive rate.
Age Distribution: Nothing too notable, the age distribution seems to be rather normal. There are more older than younger people, but not by a very large margin.
Mortality: In the outskirts of the empire, infant mortality is an issue because of the factories and their wanton pollution. The nearer a sector is to Victoria, the more likely it will have less of a problem with this and other health problems. The life expectancy is nothing to brag about, with the pollution once again being a large factor, but once could see it as not too bad, but again, nothing for the empire to brag about.
Hazards: The leading cause of death by far in the empire, regardless of Sector, is death in the workplace. Accidents happen far too many times and it is not too uncommon to hear of a strapping, potential new worker accidentally being pulled into a system of large cogs and being grinded into pulp in less than five minutes. Also, the higher up one goes on the corporate ladder, the more ruthless the employees are. It is in no way unheard of to send a hitman after your rival so that you could get the promotion instead of him or her. Such business practices, along with blackmail and threats, tend to seem normal to long-time employees.
Life Expectancy: Depends on which Sector you are in. Those closer to Victoria seem to be more advanced in terms of medicine and boast of lives of not-too-shabby length. The Sectors on the outskirts of the empire do not fare as well and many die in their 50's or 60's because of the stress of factory work.
General Health: The farther a Sector is from Victoria, the less impressive the general health is. On the outskirts, disease brought about from wanton pollution is common and is a serious issue. No Sector can really complain of starvation, however. The Sectors closest to Victoria do not have much to worry about when it comes to disease from smog, but it is still cautioned to be careful. Also, the Sectors closest to Victoria tend to be richer and offer lives full of relative comfort and impressive wealth, although one should never expect to not have to work in the empire.
Urbanization: Simple towns revolving around their factories are common throughout the empire, although the Sectors closer to Victoria feature impressive cities that seem rather impressive with steam-powered technology being a part of their everyday lives and the whole business affair being efficient because of it.
Education: The people are well-educated; dumb workers are bad workers. Even those on the outskirts can read and know what to do in a factory.
Social System: It is a corporate pyramid in which anyone can climb up to the top if they prove themselves worthy. People have more or less wealth and more or less stressful jobs according to rank. Those of the much lower rungs will not be cared for as much by the government as those of the higher rungs and will not be as wealthy. Proving oneself and often having a good amount of business sense or cunning will result in promotions, which will increase one's rank and secure for them better jobs, bigger paychecks, and more power.
Social Problems: The rich look down on the poor as usual and those of lower rungs tend to feel resentment towards their superiors. Also, the fact that most of the employees are ambitious leads to some weaknesses; one should not make a workforce out of those who don't even want their jobs and just want better things all the time.
Social Sentiment: The closer a Sector is to Victoria, the more loyal it will be to the corporation, but even then it is nothing compared to the loyalty of those more warrior-based races; the most common form of loyalty is just working hard. The Sectors that are farther out have a general sense of apathy; they just want to be promoted and couldn't care less about throwing parades for the sake of glorifying the corporation.
Social Outlook: See Social Sentiment. From the outskirts and in, it changes from apathy to not-too-amazing-but-adequate loyalty. The people have been taught to care only about themselves and rise up in the ranks, they don't see the corporation as an entity that demands their love, just their labor.
Social Worldview: They are social and trade a lot. They are very focused on their business. Trade is their forte. They are a very powerful corporation with an iron grip on the war industry. They have several influences in the world and continue to make more through trade and clever words.
Social Acceptance: Victoria is extremely xenophobic and does not allow foreigners to set foot in it. The rest of the empire sees foreigners as pitiful people with primitive technology at best and as disgusting, sometimes laughable savages at worst.
Culture: Productivity is important. The corporation is important.
Business is important. Money is important. Power is important. Ambition is the driving force behind most of A.I's employees. Factory workers and office workers abound in a snowy landscape.
Customs: Gas masks are mandatory throughout the empire; while one must not always wear it, it must always be on one's person and at formal events, the gas masks must be worn as if they were masquerade masks.
Ideal Citizen: Regardless of gender or age, the ideal citizen is someone who works as hard as possible, has no social life whatsoever, focuses completely on work, and is extremely productive. The ideal citizen will work to rise in rank, but will not focus on his or her ambition more than their work.
Problematic Citizen: Someone who is lazy and does not care about their work. They do not try to work and hold everyone back. They are not productive; indeed, they are often detrimental to the efforts of Arkady Industries. They question the system and start rebeliions. They are poor wretches of no use.
Notable Citizens: Slythe Arkady, C.E.O of Arkady Industries and the man who turned Armada Enterprises into a powerful empire and revealed to the world steam-powered technology.
