Timo took her time staring at the octopus, not having changed her expression or posture from the time when Titan first began talking to her. With her eyes hidden, her silence may have been interpreted as disinterest or simply disrespect, but neither was the case. Simply put, there was too much information happening at the same time for her to deal with any one thing. So, she started with the obvious.
"Uh, since when could you talk human-words?" she said, trying to hide her skepticism. If she were being honest, she would express some degree of anger at the fact that Titan had this skill and chose to hide it until that exact moment. Why would he do that? Timo usually didn't mind deceit, as it was often necessary, but this just seemed needless, to her.
"Nevermind that, though. What's this about Luna bein' some alien all of a sudden? Sure, she's got some funny ideas, it seems like, but if that makes her an alien, then every single person I've chatted with for the past few weeks is one, too. An' I really doubt that's the case. By comparison, she seems harmless to me."
As much as she was trying to focus on Titan's claims, and the implications that they led to, she was still hung up on the issue of the talking octopus. Logically, she knew it shouldn't be too much of a problem, considering that she had already met talking octopi, but she couldn't help being as taken aback as she was.

"I could always talk," the octopus responded factually. "What is the emotion that you humans call that is similar to fear? Anxiety? Restless? No, I think it is "shy." I am shy about my voice. My mother says it is unfitting and unnatural of a satellite of my status. I think it is a result of the time I have spent with Cid Coral. I seem to be picking up some traits from the boy."
Titan began to wave his tentacles, as though he was threatening to smack Timo in the face. His voice was rather adult-like, conflicting with his adorable features. Now that his voice could be heard, his frustration could be heard quite clear.
"Do you not understand? Luna comes from the moon. Her name is a very reference to the moon itself. No one would call themselves something like that without purpose. She is foolish not to use a false name."

As Titan tried explaining himself, and in the process revealing much to Timo that could reasonably be explained as insanity, if the words came from anything other than a talking octopus. After trying to wrap her head around all the ideas that the tiny creature was letting flow out of him like water, Timo calmly, but promptly, sat down in front of him, staggered by all that she was learning. Then she figured that, even if what Titan was saying was true, and there were aliens and moon people and whatnot, that it probably wouldn't effect her personally too much anyway, and really it would be better for everyone if she stopped thinking about it, and this had nothing to do with the fact that it was just simpler for her at the moment this way.
"Now, see, that's a good point," Timo said, trying to sound as if this was the sort of conversation she had all the time, "but there could be any number of reasons she's called Luna, and it doesn't mean she's from the moon. I mean, if everyone was just called by what planet they live on, it'd be kinda hard for folks here to tell each other apart, right? Names can mean lots of stuff. Like, my name, for instance. All it means is that my old man wanted a son."
She took a drag from her cig, hoping that she gave a satisfactory answer.
"But I'll keep an eye out, just in case. And hey, even if she was from the moon, why would that really be so much of a problem?"

Titan’s tentacles fell to his sides as he looked up at the bounty hunter. He seemed to scratch his head as best as he could with just a tentacle. Occasionally, the octopus would duck or hold his breath to avoid breathing in too much smoke from Timo’s cigarette. He seemed not to like Timo’s habit, though it wasn’t enough to chase him away from the conversation.
“I see,” he said with a short pause. “My family is more direct. I am named after my mother's ancestors. It is 'Titan,' in your language, to represent what I will eventually represent to your world and others. Despite how small I am now, I will be closely watching Luna whether she is alien or not. Cid is… what you humans call a ‘friend’ to me. My mother does not believe you humans are worth saving. His kindness is proof enough to me. I cannot have him betrayed under my watch.”
The tiny octopus began to crawl off of the box and onto the floor. But before he got too far, he turned around and bowed his head.
“Would a human at this point say 'Thank you for your time?'"
