true both recreations have to tried to be broader than one piece and appeal to everything. pretty much we're trying to overshoot rather than stick to what worked.
OPHQ worked and will automatically (probably) get us noticed, coming up with a new name puts us up as an unknowns and competition from arlong park and orojackson would be much harder as an unknown.
why dont we make 2 sites give them a 3/4 month trial period and see what wins, if one proves more popular than the other then we close the unpopular one.

Keep in mind, I know we had some great discussion in the chat, but I want to let you guys know that from this point on, I'm only considering information brought up here in this discussion when I go forward with the reboot.
I rather like Shark's idea of doing an initial pull and then renaming it at a later point. Even if it is "One Piece HQ" though, I'd rather keep our forums as similar as they are with the exception of the manga section being converted into a One Piece manga, anime and then other manga and anime section.
One thing is certain though. It has to be One Piece themed. It's the series we all love and it's the one that's going to remain the most constant (and honestly the one I want to keep talking about).
EDIT: Posted during Morc's submitted post.
I'm totally against doing two completely different sites. We're doing this to have fun and attract members. Honestly, the best thing I can ask from you guys is just to post in the topics you can to keep this site updated and relevant for people who visit so they don't turn away and think we're irrelevant.
EDIT EDIT: I brought this up in the chat but I'll bring it up again here. I'll be paying at least $10 to change the site's name and doing most of the aesthetic work so I'll be making the final call, but not without great consideration on your guys' parts.

Will it cost a regular ongoing fee, or just the one time $10?
As for more than one site, I too am opposed though only because I just don't have the time to be split between two websites like this.

I rather like Shark's idea of doing an initial pull and then renaming it at a later point. Even if it is "One Piece HQ" though, I'd rather keep our forums as similar as they are with the exception of the manga section being converted into a One Piece manga, anime and then other manga and anime section. Wouldn't that just be using up more money, though? I'm just wondering how much of a pull it would really be to do that. Like I said before, when Manga Blast was first a thing, we got a great amount of old members on the site in some form or another, but the vast majority (ravensly, ticky, sprite, xero) just kinda stopped after some time. As for the ones who can't be accounted for, who's to say they haven't lost interest or vanished into the ether entirely, as people kinda tend to do on the internet? Shark brought up the time OPHQ temporarily came back as an example of drumming up interest, and while that does deserve response, I think it might be a false equivalence. When that happened, the time between the first HQ shutting down and its reappearance was way shorter, and there were still plenty of active people on Manga Ground. Since the last time OPHQ died, there's been a significant changeover of fans, and the ones who lingered, if they were aware of OPHQ for whatever reason chose to avoid it the first time around. Nowadays, I'm doubtful if the majority of OP fans even remember what things were like before, say, 2010. That's really the main issue I have with this, that we're banking on people having the same emotional attachment to the same thing we do. As much as I doubt that we could ever really compete with AP Forums and Oro Jackson, I think going by the name of an old forum or a really generic title would be selling ourselves short. If we're to make an impact at all, we should push confidence as much as originality. Gotta find our niche somehow, y'know?

I got a suggestion, too. Since you want a fancy name, that has something to do with RPing and One Piece. In my opnion those stuff is queer, and the most queer thing in OP, that has to do with acting is the Okama:
Okama paradise Kamabakka Kingdom Momoiro Island Newkama Land
I am not mocking you, those are serious name suggestions!

The Okama are easily my favorite people in One Piece. I absolutely adore them, but with the connotations around the characters, I'd rather stay away from it. I know that they're seen as offensive to some LGBT people and their allies. I'd like this forum to be as inclusive as possible. That being said though, I'll be sure to put up a banner featuring Mr. 2 or the other Okama at some point.

Felt this was worthy of another post.
I'll be traveling from the 12th to the 17th of this month so I won't be on much. I'll likely still have time to post in RP threads and manga threads, but I'll be doing it from my phone so I won't be altering the website. I plan to alter the layout of the forums before the 12th. Sometime after the 21st, I hope to change the domain name and add in some One Piece banners and other materials.
Before I leave, I hope to have at least a few choices to think about as far as the name goes. One Piece HQ will obviously be one of these choices. Keep suggesting names until I leave if you would. My current ideas Water 7 and Impel Down, given their proximity in One Piece arc ranking polls and that they're just great arcs in general.
