282 So a time for another new crew member and time to roll a name, so Élise it is. I just keep getting females. And since Luciana is level 50 the new recruit will start at level 20 and with the rank of first class. Also apparently private isn't a marine rank.
Crew: Captain Luciana - lvl 50 (Zoan Oyster Fruit) First Class Élise - lvl 20 Apprentice Mina - lvl 0

819. Recruit or sky battle. No way we're going to the sky, not yet anyway! We need someone new to join the crew. Thus, we find a passing ship. Apparently, his whole crew went the grand line but he's the only one to make it out alive. I guess he wants redemption, so we allowed him to join!
Captain Hito lvl 50 John Sparrow lvl 20 (Can't attack/level up for 4 turns) Little Pipin lvl 5 (+50 in battle) LongBeard Knuckles lvl 20
Total level: 145 (125 without John Sparrow)

Some days later, in the midst of all of Envy and Sloth's planning, the merchant ship was attacked. A pirate ship had come into their path and fired warning shots to deter them from sailing away. As the ship came closer with its flag raised high, Wrath immediately recognized the incoming enemies. It was the pirates that had humiliated him, that had forced him to run away! He would not let it happen again! The mercenaries of the merchants were willing to fight, and so was he! He would slaughter them, bring each and every one of them to his knees for their crimes! And yet...there were the merchants. They had insulted him as well. Why not make them kill each other? He did not involve himself in the fighting until the end, when the numbers would be little and everything would be easier.
Sloth and Envy were not eager for a head-on confrontation but saw no choice. They hid behind their ally and the other mercenaries much like the merchants and helped in subtle ways, such as firing a few surprise shots from behind cover or quickly stabbing a pirate in the back when no one was looking. Envy did most of the work, though. After all, Sloth was still dealing with the albeit bandaged wound on his leg.
998 (wow)
The merchants won in a devastating victory. Each and every one of the pirates had been killed, for anyone who had surrendered died by Wrath's hands. He was no warrior, but his hatred and need for vengeance had turned him into an animal, tearing the helpless pirates apart at the end of the battle, leaving no survivors. By the end of it all, despite his lack of fighting, he was the one stained with the most blood.
The mercenaries had not been so lucky. They were skilled, but the pirates had been more plentiful in numbers. While the mercenaries managed to pave through groups of them, they all fell but one. It was some sort of proud warrior, someone who was impressive with the sword and faithful to the coin. A true swashbuckler of the seas.
In the midst of the merchants congratulating themselves, Wrath turned and shot him in the head without hesitation or comment. There had not even been a sense of urgency; it was as casual as a normal flick of the hand.
Envy, Wrath, and Sloth forced the merchants to their knees. They had been far too happy for far too long. They had insulted Wrath and flaunted their wealth in front of Envy. Truly, they deserved their upcoming punishment.
Sloth knew that the merchants had really done nothing wrong, as the insults were little comments exaggerated by Wrath's twisted mind and the merchants had treated Envy with respect, only happening to be successful while she was not. They would die for no reason at all.
But why should he care?
Since only Envy could gain exp, Envy gets 10 level ups.
Sloth has to wait one more turn until he can gain exp or contribute to attacks.
Wrath has to wait two more turns until he can gain exp or contribute to attacks.
Envy: Level 15
Sloth: Level 5
Wrath, Level 5.

988. Confrontation.
Captain Hito, with his new crew, continued sailing towards Reverse Mountain. John Sparrow was still not able to move, but he was doing much better.
It was then that they came upon a marine ship, lead by Captain Stannis. Captain Hito saw this as a great chance to test their new skill, so they charged forward!
My total level: 125 < 150 : Shark's total level.
Ah, if only John Sparrow wasn't injured, he could have changed the tides of battle! We manage to escape, but LongBeard Knuckles, who we just met, gets sent straight to Impel Down, destroying his dreams.
Captain Hito lvl 50 John Sparrow lvl 20 (Can't attack/level up for 3 turns) Little Pipin lvl 5 (+50 in battle)
Total level: 125 (105 without John Sparrow)

The three pirates had just finished cleaning up the ship, which had been bathed in blood and covered in corpses some time ago. It had been a long, arduous, and frustrating process because not a single one of them wanted to do something as lowly as manual labor. After much arguing, they had agreed on dividing up the cleaning, although it took even more time for the three to come up with a fair division of such a thing.
After many hours of the three dragging their unwanted work out as long as possible through procrastination and complaining, the ship was spotless. Finally.
They had not seen any ships lately on their voyage to the nearest city. The merchant ship had plenty of gold and resources for them, allowing the three to be content for the time being. There were no foreseeable problems in sight and they were still drunk on victory. Sloth's injury had even healed significantly, now little more than a nuisance. For the first time in a while, they were all happy...somewhat.
A discussion had began at some point between Sloth and Envy on how perhaps they should ally with someone. After all, as cunning as they were, they could be in for some trouble if they encountered something high above their ability to deal with. Envy hated the idea because that would mean they would have to deal with some insufferable fools with more power and possessions with them! Wrath joined the discussion not soon after, protesting that they would indeed have to deal with some sort of insult or mockery if they ever allied with anyone.
Sloth asked the two of them how they could be so unreasonable, although he was very careful in his wording so as not to set off Wrath's temper or Envy's spite.
Wrath scoffed at any implication that an alliance would end up well for them, stating that he would believe it when ships fly.
Sloth can now gain exp and level up.
Wrath has to wait one more turn before he can gain exp and level up.
Envy: Level 15
Sloth: Level 5
Wrath: Level 5

...There was so much to say and so little could be said.
First, there was the ship that fallen out of the sky. Like a meteorite or shooting star, they saw it in the distance, coming from the skies with a roar and flying towards the water. The trio was silent at first, stunned as they witnessed the sight. Even when the ship hit the waters with a huge splash and sent huge waves coming their way, it took them quite a while to make any sort of response. When they did, it consisted mainly of panicking and rushing to prepare for the tidal waves about to envelop them.
When they reached the fallen ship, they were completely soaked and full of anger. They wanted to tear apart whatever idiots had attacked them, if anyone was still even alive in the vessel. Just what in the world had happened?
The encounter with the two pirates had been...interesting. At first, the trio wanted to kill these fools, they wanted to tear these enemies apart. However, it soon became clear that they were much stronger. Even their very presence emanated power. After some testy relations and suspicions, the Deadly Sins and the two pirates, Captain McHard and Betsy Tandem, made an alliance, much to Sloth's subtle satisfaction. It was surprisingly easy due to the joyful and friendly nature of the two. They had offered what they called a "booze party", which the Deadly Sins enjoyed quite throughly.
The alliance went through a battle in both the sea and sky. Both battles were won, mainly through the efforts of Corvette and Betsy, but the sky battle was what stuck in their minds. What was it? How was it happening? It was a fantastical adventure in the skies, a sensation of true beauty. Looking at the wonder of nature, they all thought the same thing.
This could be sold at quite the price.
In one of the battles, a survivor had crawled onto the ship and begged for mercy. Wrath would have stomped out his miserable little life right there, but Envy stopped him to ask the man just what was on his face. It was some sort of mask with pipes coming out of it, connected to some small canister on his back. Trembling and yet now giggling somewhat, he explained that it was a mechanism that filled his every breath with pleasure. It made his senses go wild and his inhibitions fade. It made him feel more than human and, with a hidden grin on his face, he said that he would rather die than ever give it up. He had made it himself; his creation sustained him.
The trio looked at each other and then at Corvette and Betsy. The two were distracted. They looked back at the man on the floor and sneered at him. What a pathetic weakling. Still, if he had invented such a thing...if what he said was true at all...
They took the man to a lower level of the ship and, with his hesitant permission, took turns breathing in whatever gas he was constantly feeding himself. It was even better than he had said.
A deal was made. If he wanted to live a happy and fulfilling life of power, he could join the trio before him. His old name would have to be thrown away; it would only be fitting.
Lust joined them that day, his inventor's mind and intense desire having saved him.
727
The four pirates decided to make good use of their alliance with Corvette and Betsy. They didn't want to solely depend on them and others to fight their battles. They relied mainly on their cunning, but they could not sail the seas with only that. They needed more. They needed power.
They focused mainly on their marksmanship. Over the course of several days, they began to be more and more skilled with the gun. On their own time, they learned of the inner workings of many different guns and began to make their own weapons from disassembling them and playing with the parts. The weapons they created were fearsome and unknown to the world. It wasn't the next big step forward in the history of war, but it certainly changed the game for the Deadly Sins.
There was some physical training, which was hell on earth. None of them wanted to run around or do push ups or anything similar. Such work was beneath them. Nevertheless, they somewhat complied with the exception of Envy. She refused to do any of it and was incredibly stubborn, even vicious in her words when anyone tried convincing her otherwise. When she brought up the fact that she had already been able to do most of the work back on the fight on the merchant ship, everyone just shut up about it.
In the end, they at least gained some more endurance and speed. Wrath had been the least resistant to physical activity and ended up all the stronger for it. This was something he never failed to rub in everyone else's face, especially Envy's, much to her annoyance.
Lust has been recruited!
Wrath gains 10 level ups!
Distribute 10 level ups among the rest:
Sloth gains 5 level ups!
Lust gains 5 level ups!
Wrath: Level 15
Envy: Level 15
Sloth: Level 10
Lust: Level 10

590. Haki.
After our crushing defeat against the marine Captain Stannis, and losing one of our own crew, we know that we must get better. While Captain Hito is meditating up on deck, he feels a power bloom within himself and feels a bit better about whatever battle comes next.
