"The fuck is wrong with you?" Hil muttered as Jackal laughed abruptly. The metal man didn't have a brain. He himself didn't know how he could think or feel without a real body. But, in his thoughts, he assumed Jackal was going crazy, slipping further into the insanity of Victoria.
Focusing on the chaos around them, it was too late for Hil to react to Jackal's hidden blade, stabbing Kusu.
"No!"
The parakeet monster let out a loud cry of pain as it shrank and shriveled. Hil's arms stretched, catching Mr. Dark's and Kusu's falling forms. He remained steady in the air, holding the two at his sides. He made no attempt to save Jackal. Having been against saving him in the first place, he was willing to let him die now.
"Jackal," a small voice said. Hil ignored the plea and flew to a nearby roof, setting Mr. Dark and Kusu safely down.
Kusu looked as she did before she assumed the gigantic parakeet form. Feathers covered her entire body with the exception of her hair, face and arm. Her left arm was twisted, looking like a horrid mix of arm and wing as blood dripped down from her shoulder. Her other arm remained mostly human, though her hand resembled a clawed talon.
"Hil..." she muttered as she knelt on the ground. Her eyelids fluttered in her pain.
Fenrir's shock wave broke through the air. Kusu cried out and covered her ears as best she could. Hil clutched onto her, protecting her from the wave and the collapsing building in front of them. The building protected the one they were standing on, but barely. Dust and debris flew past them. Unfortunately for Mr. Dark, Hil was only concerned about protecting Kusu from the attack.
"Wolf isn't hurting you..." Kusu said, looking up at her protector as the attack faded. "You could stop him..."
"Stop trying to solve this, brat. This isn't your problem. We need to get you out of here so you're never hurt again. I'm saying this not because of what that swordsman made me promise to protect you, but because you don't deserve this. You're just a kid."
Gulping, Kusu nodded to Hil as she held his metal arms.
"I promise... I'll stop... I'll go back to Momoiro Island... but only after I talk to Wolf... tell him he's doing bad things like Arkady... and if he doesn't listen..."
Kusu whispered words in Hil's ear. At this moment, his form shifted and was pulled back into that of Tyrfing, the cursed katana. It fitted itself into her talon-like hand and shimmered in the cold air.
The small captain walked slowly and stood at the edge of the roof, peering at Fenrir far away with tired eyes. She balanced herself on Tyrfing's hilt, its blade piercing the floor of the roof. Shivering and shaking in pain from the wound Jackal inflicted on her, it took every ounce of her being to take her stand.
It was too late to save all of her friends, the citizens of Victoria and maybe even herself. But if Fenrir could be stopped, then maybe some could be spared.

A gunshot rang out and he heard a scream, but one hit Kalen harder than the other. His blood froze in his veins, and a part of him felt like he had not stopped running, and was with Titania hiding in the alleyway. But he had stopped running, and turned back to Silver.
"No... no, you're ok. This isn't the end of your story. We've still got more, it doesn't finish here."
He didn't want to believe that Silver's life was in danger, he wouldn't. Instead, he tried to block everything out, and concentrate on how to help her. He had raised livestock for a living, so he had some understanding of medical issues, and he knew first thing first was to stop the bleeding. This was obviously different since her limb had been severed, but he wouldn't just leave her.
The problem was, he didn't have any of the materials needed to do even the bare minimum. Searching himself over, he finally defaulted to the last course of action, which was to take his own. Taking a deep breath, he gritted his teeth, and in one rapid motion he tore a good portion of the bandages from his torso. He tried to avoid the ones that were stained with blood, but it looked like he certainly needed them; many of the wounds he sustained from Breakwater had not fully healed, but most significant were some ghastly scars across his neck, assumedly from some conflict prior even to Breakwater.
"Forgive me, but this will hurt. We've only got a little bit further to go yet... I'll carry you if I have to."
With that, he did his best to bandage and tie off Silver's wounded limb. He knew she might thrash around or otherwise object, so he sat on a portion of her body to keep her down, if only for this short moment. After that he moved to his knees on the ground by her side, ready to help her if she needed it.
He was simply waiting till she was ready, as he wouldn't entertain the thought that this might be it for her.

”*cough*” After he fell down to Slythe's chamber Karalisk looked around, without paying any attention to the CEO at all. Maybe he would have paid more attention if Slythe would have had one of his famous speeches that make the computer screen turn yellow. This time all he said was one word. Why would he do that, when he could have said the same thing with 300 words? What a waste. ”*cough*” Even while Slythe was readying his massive, fetus-like magic laser missile or whatever it was the prince did not seem to care. Considering what kind of a man the prince was he was most likely just playing around and taunting the Arkady CEO. This came even more apparent when His Highness spoke: ”What the shit? This floor is even fucking more boring than the last one. Fuck this shitty country, I'm fucking outta here.” And so, as a man of his word, Karalisk punched another hole in the floor to fall even further down. This was just a moment before he would have been hit by the laser. Unlike the last time now the prince knew exactly what floor he was going to. The bottom one. ”*cough*”

Fenrir saw the laser beam coming, but did nothing to dodge it. Instead, when the laser entered Fenrir's mouth, one might notice it break down until it completely vanished.
Fenrir might have told Sloth that pure energy would no longer affect him. He had reached a state where could absorb it easily, and add it to his own power. The only way to defeat a creature like this would be with a physical force.
However, Fenrir was in no state for talking. Now, transformed into this half beast half machine monster, he had only one thing on his mind: Destruction.
And thus, he continued snapping his huge, metallic jaws, hoping to sever Sloth in half.
Inside, Samuel struggled with all his might to stop Fenrir, but in vain.

Silver shuddered and clutched at Kalen's shirt in pain, sometimes grabbing his arms and tearing at his skin. This was too much. This was too much for her. She had never asked for this. This wasn't supposed to be what she found outside the sewer. No. No.
As a way to cope with the pain, her mind brought her back to her days in the depths. Where the world was dark and the lands narrow, where she had never worried of dying. No, it had barely ever even crossed her mind. What had crossed her mind were passing thoughts of a realm above, and intense focus on whatever art she was creating on any given day.
It had been simple. It had been easy. It had been nice. Quiet. Peaceful.
She now loved that life so much, and at the same time she fully realized that it would never be the same again. Even if she made it out alive from here, she would never forget this. Anytime she would need to grab a wall for support, she would remember this.
No.
Why?
Why hadn't she just stayed back where she was?
"K-kalen..."
Her voice was but a shaky whisper. Her eyes roamed the ground, searching for something. Surely there was at least one? Just one? Where was it...?
BANG
Silver screamed at the sound, eyes shut as she raised her hands to shield herself. But no pain came.
In front of Kalen and Silver stood Titania, her hands busy with something near her face. Were one to move a bit for a different angle, one would see that she was holding something in front of her.
Her mask.
The mask had a huge dent near the center, completely ruining any craftsmanship it had shown before. She seethed in rage.
"You two. Run. Run now or i'll kill you myself!"
For a moment, Silver thought of the masks she had seen earlier, most of them incredibly damaged but still intact.
She could easily imagine the assailant preparing for another shot.
How much longer did this mask have?
And so, with Kalen's support, she ran to an alley, constantly gasping and stumbling from the pain.
Slythe saw nothing in the laser's wake. No trace of a body at all. No remains to say that the victim's life had ever reached here. No evidence of their existence in this burning land.
At first, he was satisfied. It was another reminder of his power and in all of the chaos that was occurring, such a reminder was more than welcome. It would take quite some effort to fix all of this.
And then he saw it. The hole in the ground.
"..."
A seemingly eternal period of silence.
And then a roar that could rival Fenrir's.
With steam shooting out from his feet in the same ways that the Executives did, Slythe sped through the holes that Kara had left in his travel to the bottom floor. As he did so, he shot laser after laser at the wretched little thing punching holes into his building.
He had plans for Fenrir. Oh yes, he had plans on how to get rid of him.
But for now, he would not let this pesky little urchin get away.
"Ah. Ah ha ha ha. Ah ha ha ha ha ha."
A cacophony of different voices laughed behind Kusu. Were she or Hil to turn and look, they would see an Executive they had not yet seen. Two golden canisters were strapped to his back, and tubes from it connected to his blank face.
"Oh, you poor little things. You really think that you're going to rescue your friend, eh, ah hah, ah hah hah hah." The laughter seemed tired, almost resigned. He turned a valve on one of the canisters, filling him up with more of whatever gas was in it. "Oh, oh...Don't worry, don't you worry about me, i'm no threat. I mean, besides being able to cut you up into tiny eetle-little-bitty pieces, of course, ah ha ha ha! Just poor little Lust." He clasped his hands together and looked at the fight going on in the distance.
"Say...Wouldn't you need some help? I would be oh so happy to assist. You see, this isssssss....ehhhhh...somewhat my fault, I suppose! Ah ha ha ha, yes, I started this joke, I maaaaaaay have accidentally ended up messing up on something and having your little - well, not-so-little - friend over there go free. Oh, it was an accident, yessssss. And as all other accidents, it must be rectified by the one who started it."
He cocked his head this way and that, occasionally turning the valve on a canister. "Now, it's not as if I have any intentions to kill you or anything. After all, what would that do? Well, besides provide me with infinite pleasure, satisfaction, and glee. No, I'm a bit more concerned with the destruction of this city here. After all, in quite an ifronic twist of fate, in one of the funniest turnouts of all time, ah hah, ah HAH HA HA HA...you are our only hope.
Or at least, the most convenient and available one at the moment. The only one I really know of. Maybe there's some other hope around here somewhere, just waiting to save the city, but you know, can't really rely on heroes and hopes to just pop out of nowhere.
So, what do you say? Maybe I can be a distraction, maybe I can fly you over there? After all, you seem to have quite an injured wing there. Whatever happened to it anyway? And just where is poor...poor..." He sighed. "Poor little Jackal?" Another turn of the valve though, and he was laughing again.
What had happened to Jackal was unknown to the group. A last bout of cackling had been heard as the Victorian fell, but at one point it just stopped. It could only be hoped that it was not the hard gold of the streets that silenced him.
As for Kusu...once she heard what Lust had to say, what he had confessed to, would it really be as simple as letting him help?
The strength wrought from the machine of Sloth's body were just barely enough to hold the jaws at bay. The teeth stuck through his hands, but he felt no pain. Instead, he struggled at trying to keep the beast from cutting his body in half.
Even with all of its unnatural strength however, there was only so long that the Executive could delay the inevitable.

Fenrir clenched his huge mechanical jaw harder and harder on Sloth's body. With every second, it got tighter and tighter and he knew that soon, very soon, he'd break the man in half.
But jut before that happened, just before he gave that final, devastating bite, Fenrir stopped. Not out of choice, however, no, for if he could, he'd finish everything then and there.
Inside Fenrir's mind, Samuel had stood up. After being locked in the darkness for so long, he had stood up.
I won't let you do this.
What have you done!? Let me be free!
I won't let you hurt anyone. You've already done too much. I can't allow you to hurt my friends.
Let me free!
Never! I'll keep locking you away, deeper and deeper, every time! I know you'll resurface, but I'll learn to fight it. I cannot allow this to go on!
THEN I WILL CONSUME YOU!
In the outside world, Fenrir was gone. In his place was Samuel Wolf, the regular, albeit large, Activista.
"I'm sorry," said Samuel to Sloth.
And an instant later, Samuel was gone again, replaced by Fenrir, replaced by the terrifying mechanical wolf, and replaced by the huge, mettalic jaws, which slammed around Sloth, and with any luck, would completely end him for good.
If so, Fenrir was ready to move on to the rest of the city, for he felt many forces that were conspiring to end his reign, and he did not like that one bit.
"Come and get me, Victoria," mused Fenrir.

Turning around, the parakeet hybrid beheld the glory of Lust. She didn't understand what exactly he and his fellow Executives were and she felt uncomfortable around them, especially in these trying times.
"You're one of His Highness' people," Kusu said with wide eyes. "Ummm... I'm Kusu... or Roger... or whatever... and this is my sword. Lying over there is Mr. Dark. Please don't bother him. He needs his rest.
The child captain weakly pointed Tyrfing at Mr. Dark, still for all she knew unconscious. She became even more surprised, hearing what he had to say about his involvement in the situation.
"So this wasn't Wolf's fault. What you did was wrong, very wrong, but if you're willing to make things better, I'll forgive you."
Much to the spirit in her sword's dismay, Kusu's innocence got the better of her. She was willing to trust Lust, not questioning that he wouldn't work with her for a common goal. It didn't occur to her that he might take advantage of her trust.
"It sounds like you know a lot about my robot friend. If he doesn't listen to me, I'll need you to help me shut him down. Let's work together, so we can save our friends. Jackal... I don't know what happened to him, but if we have any chance to rescue him, we have to do this. Get ready."
The sword in her hand expanded and morphed into what appeared to be a giant loudspeaker. Kusu held onto the handle of it as best she could, but it was evident that the spirit inside was doing nearly all of the work levitating it in front of her. She breathed in and closed her eyes.
"WOLF," she shouted into the speaker. "STOP BEING BAD RIGHT NOW! IF YOU DON'T, WE'LL HAVE TO SHUT YOU DOWN, WHICH WOULD BE VERY SAD! STOP IT, NOW!"
Her voice carried over the wreckage and destruction, but only barely. She leaned forward, pressing her head against the loudspeaker as her wound continued to exhaust her.

Supporting Silver, Kalen moved with her to cover. He didn't exactly understand what happened to avoid being shot again, but he didn't wait around to find out. Once in the alley he continued to support her as best he could (despite that she was overall much larger than he was), but by this point was relying on Titania to call the shots, figuratively or no.
"We can't just keep running through the streets like this, we've probably got an angry mob after us by now! Is there not a better place to hide out? You live here, don't you have a house we can go to?"
It seemed in all the commotion and stress going on, Kalen had forgotten his place, and had actually spoken to the Victorian no less. As worried as he was for Silver's sake, he might need to be put in his place, lest he come up with more ideas.

As soon as prince Karalisk noticed that the Arkady CEO, Slythe Arkady, had began to follow him a great plan popped in his mind, just as should be expected from a super genius like him. While evading the first couple of laser blasts the prince dropped an unusually heavy rock from his magic pockets and it would keep falling down through the floors all the way to the bottom or at least for a while, which should be enough. This was just a distraction however as Karalisk himself actually jumped in one of the floors and began waiting for Slythe to pass him. To prepare for this event His Highness took out his trusty old baseball bat and readied for a strong swing. And his swing was pretty good, to say the least.
And so if all went along the plan and Slythe would get fooled and kept on chasing the rock he should pass Karalisk by and then the prince would try to hit him with his bat, aiming for the greatest homerun the world has ever seen.
Even if things wouldn't go his way Karalisk would probably try to hit Slythe with the bat, but just out of frustration and refusing to admit that his plan had failed. For Slythe this might actually be worse.

One moment.
That was all that he needed.
One second he was being crushed by a beast of old, the next he was looking at what he presumed to be the Activista. But that mattered not to him. Let the others deal with this nonsense. He turned and sped off after only a moment of confusion, steam blasting from behind him.
A loud CRUNCH sounded out and Sloth found himself descending at rapid speeds, with no control over his flight. He didn't need to look behind him to see that some considerable damage of sorts had been done to his legs. He felt a great annoyance and frustration since it had been so hard to adjust to the body, but perhaps it could be repaired later. For now, a rather tall building was coming closer and closer and -
"Wasn't Wolf's fault? Oh, please! If the subject had had a stronger will, he wouldn't have gotten himself into this mess." He gave out a little laugh, but then it stopped. He froze in place when she pointed out that what he had done was wrong. He made no movement until after Kusu shouted at Fenrir. Were Kusu to look behind her, she would see the Executive twitch and shake, his movements jerky and erratic. He spoke with voices completely empty of their usual mirth.
"...Wrong. Do you think I don't think I don't know that? Hm? Wrong. Wrong, wrong, wrong. How dare you think of me as some idiotic villain with no perception of morality. I'm not like the other Executives. I'm...nice. Ah ha ha. Ha ha ha." A hollow, empty laugh. Almost angry.
"Do you know what i've done for the past several years, child?" He floated a bit closer. "I have taken entire lives and reduced them to nothing more than experiments. Wolf was only the most recent in a long line of the grand scientific exploits of Arkady Industries. I've been doing this for years, poor little pirate. I've seen and done so much. Oh, I should have died a long time ago, ah ha ha, if I had had any sense of justice or mercy I should have disappeared all the way back when this cursed company had come about.
I remember the voices of each and every one of them, you know. I don't forget a face, and I most certainly don't forget a scream. Why, I can start to hear them now, I can hear them screaming and begging and begging and begging and begging! It's...it's..."
He turned a valve on one of the canisters on his back, filling the tubes to his face with some sort of gas. A deep inhale was made, although the sound was made out of old habit rather than any actual usage of lungs.
"...Ah...Iiiiiiiiiiit's not my problem! Ahahahahahahahahahaha!" His voices spoke in twisted glee and joy once again. "Now then! Yes indeedy, I can try to shut him down! That might be a tad difficult, but as long as one of us can distract him, it should be easy! Now then, I can fly around like a little birdy however I wish, and while shooting out lasers too, how delightful of me, hm? Yes. Now, as far as I can tell, that fascinating little device of yours can shapeshift into anything. You'll turn it into whatever I say if you want this to work. For now, just keep it as a weapon or shield or whatever your child's heart desires."
The executive made a huge exaggeration of going down on one knee, lowering himself to the little pirate captain. "Climb onto my back, noble adventurer, and we can be off. We'll fly closer and if we're lucky, we'll die quickly! AH ha ha ha ha!"
Mr. Dark laid unresponsive nearby, nothing more than dead weight. Lust made every effort to not point out how pathetic a first mate he must have been if this was his way of helping. The pirate captain was naive enough to trust him for now, but there was no reason to risk any damage to the deal. It would all work out for the Executive very soon...
"We can't just keep running through the streets like this, we've probably got an angry mob after us by now! Is there not a better place to hide out? You live here, don't you have a house we can go to?"
The hardness of a Victorian mask struck the back of Kalen’s head. “You insolent wretch! Did you think I only planned to run around these streets like some idiot?! Do not speak up so arrogantly again, you lowly nothing!” Another strike.
“Of course I have a house, you putrid little worm. And there it is now, just as planned.”
The building in front of them was a golden, windowless manor that might have seemed massive a few days ago but in comparison to the silver castles sprawled out across the city, it was actually quite tame.
The doors opened up easily enough, and it only took a few moments after it had closed behind the group for the noise to begin. The doors halted each and every bullet with a CLANG while the roar and screams of the Victorian’s guns filled one spider-girl’s mind with terror.
This is not the sound she wanted to know.
This is not the sound she wanted to hear every time she closed her eyes from on.
This is not a past she wanted to carry around with her forever and ever.
“Through here, hurry!” Titania opened a door in the floor and gestured for the others to get through. In all of her panic, Silver had not yet noticed that the sounds from outside had faded into a low murmur. Then silence.
The last thing Silver saw was Titania walking in behind them, about to close and lock the trap door, when the golden entrance exploded in a blossom of fire and light. Then, blindness.
She could still feel the pain from rolling down the stairs, with Kalen and Titania falling behind her. Soon, they all hit the floor with bones broken and bodies battered.
Kalen would be able to see Titania’s gun some feet away with Titania struggling to get up at the other end of the room. A simple pistol in front of the shephard ready to destroy. From up the stairs came the noise of footsteps carefully coming down.
A Victorian came into Kalen’s sight, pistol in his grip.
He began to point it at the largest target, the filthy spider.
Slythe slowed down immediately when seeing the rock, but had not stopped his descent entirely. And so, he sped unwittingly into a baseball strike for the ages.
CRACK
Slythe’s body was thrown into the air, thrown at a path diagonal to the one he had flew down in. And so, he broke through floor after floor and wall after wall in only a few seconds before shooting out near the top floor like a bullet speeding towards disaster. Victorians all across the city looked up to see some strange projectile hurtling towards their perfect white sky.
And by sky, they were of course thinking of the largest wall in the world.
The body slammed into the wall and instantly, the material was cracked. The cracks spread some yards more, causing parts of the wall to crumble and fall to the ground like hail. The cracks did not travel much more than that, and there was no hole through which to see the outside world.
But Slythe Arkady, Chairman of Arkady Industries, laid in his crater near the top of the wall, twitching, not even able to notice that the cracks and damage near him had made the rough shape of large wings at his sides.
And then he fell.
His footsteps were muffled, his body slow. Pride had taken off his shoes to rid himself of the click-clack they would have made, and the gradual hiss of propulsion by steam was unacceptable.
He walked into the room and finally, this little pest Slythe had been chasing after like a child was in his sight.
And his back was turned. How delightful. But of course, this had been the only possible outcome. After all, if Arkady could not have rid himself of this worthless cretin, then surely it could only be done by one being.
He pointed his open palms at the man with the baseball bat.
Unlike that idiot of a chairman, Pride had charged his lasers up before choosing to attack.
Two massive laser beams, far larger than any average person, shot out of Pride’s palms and headed towards Karalisk, who was standing in the middle of their large, destructive reach.

Fenrir, content with watching Sloth flying off into a building, turned his attention towards the rest of the city. Rockets flew from his palms, crashing into buildings, and laser beams shot from his chest, causing long trails of fire and crimson destruction.
However, while in the midst of happiness, he stopped. Faintly, in the distance, he heard a voice. Though he had personally never met the person, he recognized the voice.
Who is that?
Wolf, though locked in the mind, could hear it as well. That's Kusu. Our captain. His voice was low and defeated.
Our captain?
My captain.
How interesting. Just what is she doing in this city?
We had a job to take out a certain man, but when we tried entering the city... everything went wrong. And it hasn't gotten any better.
It seems that way. Perhaps...
What?
Perhaps I should pay this captain a visit.
No. No, don't!
She is your captain, correct? Then, I must show my respect.
NO! LEAVE HER ALONE!
But it was useless. Fenrir went flying through the air in the direction of the voice. Though he was fast, it would take a minute or two to get there, and thus, he wasn't sure what would be waiting for him in the air.

"You're very bad, just like my friend, Wolf. You and his Highness are the very sort of people I don't want to be around anymore, but if you want to help, I'll forgive you."
Kusu could only look at Lust as he bragged about his past victims. She felt sick, but no more than she had when she was in Slythe's presence or with the strange man controlling the nature at Breakwater. She couldn't understand how people like them could exist. She hoped as she got older, the answer would come to her, but she wasn't enthuastic.
When he offered to take her on his back, she shook her head.
"We're not going anywhere, not with the Scary Man injured like this. I've left behind enough people in my life. Besides, Wolf is coming to us. Look."
The loudspeaker dripped and melted, pooling at the bottom of Kusu's feet. The metal rose, pushing her up in a spiraling pillar of metal tendrils. The parakeet hybrid balanced high in the air, her healthy wing moving faster than the other to accomodate for its weakness. Her blue eyes looked steely cold in the dark night, set against the feathers that covered her entire body but the skin on her face and talons on her hands and feet.
"Don't do anything," she said to Lust in her ascent. "I'm going to talk to Wolf. If he doesn't listen to me and keeps being bad, then we'll do what you'll have us do."
We? Us? Kusu hadn't properly introduced the spirit in her sword, so Lust might have been a little confused.
The small captain would greet the mechanical monstrority as she was. She couldn't help but shake in the presence of Fenrir. Up close, she could see him for what he was. She had seen many terrifying things in her life, but she never thought something made of metal could ever be so frightening.
"It doesn't have to be this way, Wolf," she managed to say. "I know you're hurting. I'm hurting too. I hate that everywhere I go, people get hurt. I want to end it all and run away. Hil and I can flee this city now if we wanted to. I know we could, but I won't. There are people here who need us, you included."
Kusu clutched her wounded shoulder and winced. She gulped and carried on.
"You're very big and very scary. You can't run anywhere, so you think the only way to be free is to destroy everything that hurts you. But Wolf, you shouldn't do that. You have friends fightning to survive in this city right now. We might not be able to make our fears go away, but together we can help others overcome theirs."
When Lust told Kusu that Wolf didn't have a strong enough will, she took it as Wolf not being able to face his problems head on. She didn't know what Fenrir was. For all she was concerned, it was Wolf doing all these things, not something else.
"You can use your bigness, not to be bad, but to help people. It's not too late to do good again."

"Fine, fine, I apologize for ever doubting your most glorious Highness. A very nice house, by the way. Best one I've seen here."
Cringing each time he was hit, Kalen said his piece to try to make up for his earlier outburst. Now that they had some degree of safety, he didn't have to worry so much, and when they were inside and things were quiet he could devote his attention properly to Silver.
It seemed though, that they were not yet out of the fire, as their retreat through the trapdoor commenced.
"Does this lead anywhere, or is it just like a cella- OOF!!"
Helping Silver along, he was cut off by the explosion before he could finish. Surprisingly though, once they had settled after the blast and he had a chance to regain his senses, he didn't look all that worse for the wear. Certainly the tumble had taken its toll, but landing as he had should have crippled him, yet he hopped to his feet as spry as ever. Pretty much just in time to see the Victorian coming down the stairs.
It seemed instinctive, that without thinking he brought his arms from inside his jacket, and brought swinging forward six knives in a fairly precise trajectory aimed right at the Victorian. Already he took off towards the stairs though before the knives found their mark and he followed up with a pair of bolas, with the hopes that even if the knives didn't hit or didn't disable the target, this follow up would take the fellow off his feet.
And of course if that didn't work, well, at a full run he'd probably reach the stairs in no time and he had a pair of knives ready to go. He didn't feel that he needed Titania's gun to hold down the fort, and he wasn't about to take it from her either, when she'd probably be able to make better use of it than him.

”Still fucking got it... Of course I fucking do.” It had been a while since prince Karalisk had been playing basketball, but he knew his swing was still as mighty as ever, as he watched the Arkady CEO fly through the roof. Baseball had been popular back home at Coryphaeus at one point, but people got bored of it quickly as everyone tended to just shoot homeruns non-stop and then it eventually ended up being more like wrestling than baseball.
All of a sudde His Highness felt a strong burn in his back as more of AI's world famous lightshows were aimed at him. Once the lasers would stop Pride could see Karalisk still standing there as if nothing had happened. Though it was obvious that he was just again acting tough again as his body looked badly damaged from getting hit by the lasers. Oddly enough the baseball bat was seemingly undamaged.
”*cough*”
”What the fuck kind of story arc is this? I beat the fucking boss of these fucking assholes and now this fuck comes along.” Despite the illogical order of opponents he had to face Karalisk readied his bat again as he made a dash towards Pride. Instead of swinging the bat like he had before or how someone normally would he would actually attempt to cut the Arkady executive with it, just like in a cheap samurai movie. Sure the bat was a blunt object and thus not really suitable for cutting anything, but things like that never had stopped the prince.
"*cough*"

Lust watched as Kusu rose, as she ascended to face the enemy. Hm. How oddly poetic. He cocked his head at the use of "we" and "us, but the thought wasn't horribly important to him at the moment. How naive, how hopeful this little girl was. This little runt of a pirate captain was going to look an ageless monstrosity of metal in the eye and try to talk it down. Surely she wasn't stupid; she couldn't have come all this way if that had been the case. Not only that, but she could not have been ignorant.
That was the main thing he thought of, the fact that Kusu could not possibly be ignorant of all the horrors and evils in the world. He knew for a fact that Kusu had seen so much in her travels, that she had been witness to more-than-enough atoricities to haunt any being. From her voyage to this city alone, she would have learned just what evil people or things will do to others.
So, why was Kusu doing this? She must have known that Fenrir could tear her apart in less than a second.
Was she hoping for something more? Was she really willing to put herself at risk for the sake of helping another?
It was foolish, he knew. None of this bravery nonsense. And yet...there was something about this act, the fact that it was being done by someone who couldn't possibly be stupid or ignorant. Despite knowing what could come next, she fought anyway? All for the sake of others.
It...It was....It meant that...
Wait.
Wait a second.
Wolf?!
She thinks its Wolf?! No wonder she was doing this! That complete and utter idiot! The incompetent child!
No...No...Watch. Just watch. Wait and see. Wait and see.
This would all be over soon.
The knives sank into the Victorian with a thud, cutting through his clothes as if they were nothing. A horrible, animalistic shriek rang out, highly contrasting with the still grin on his mask. The bolas wrapped around his feet as he stepped forward, making him fall onto the knives still embedded in his chest. When their hilts hit the floor, they went even further through his body. After a few moments of twitching, he moved no longer.
Titania managed to shakily get up. She held a hand to her head in pain, and a guttural growl could be heard coming from her. She took a few steps forward and picked up her pistol, ready to kill more of her disgusting brethren. During the odd wait for more Victorians to come down - she could only assume that they had heard the shriek and were thinking of who to send next to their death - she walked to one end of the room and opened yet another door. The light from the next room shot into the darkness like some divine beam of light, in which the twitching Silver was in the path of. She gestured at Kalen to help up and move Silver, who was barely even breathing at this point. As she waited for Kalen to take Silver and move her to the next room, she spoke.
"Why would I ever be so stupid as to risk all of this simply to hide you two in a cellar? You brainless worm.
I want you two to escape. Your survival is relevant to my interests. I have beautiful, brilliant plans in place and they involve making sure that the pirates who entered Victoria manage to get out. It's all coming together, just as I thought it would." She would never admit that she had never expected the pirates to arrive at all. She was simply taking advantage of an opportunity. "Perhaps when we leave, i'll tell you exactly how you will be honoring your master." Once Kalen made it through, Titania closed the door behind her and activated each of the locks completely covering the edge of her door, although she doubted that they would do much good.
"Now...you vermin will have the undeserved honor of looking upon one of my splendid secrets."
The trio was on some sort of balcony, with a pedestal covered in switches and buttons and valves in front of them. Beyond the balcony was a vast room of cold metal and emptiness, save for the centerpiece.
An airship, smaller than Jackal's but still grand, laid in the middle of the room. Whereas Jackal's was an intimidating and colossal entity sailing through the skies, Titania's was much more sleek and beautiful, in a way. Only its form could be seen from here though, as the only light in the room was directly above the balcony.
Titania was quickly managing the machinery, pushing this and turning that, but it wasn't long before a BANG sounded out. Silver's body cringed, but besides that all it was doing was breathing.
"You two, go down the ramp and run to the airship. It will be ready by the time you reach it. Go!"
With the push of another button, a deafening creaking could be heard. As the machinery wailed and screamed in protest, a thin line of light shone from the ceiling. It grew wider as the ceiling split apart, shining more and more glorious light onto the airship in the room. It gleamed in the light, turning into a shining jewel of immense proportions.
Soon afterwards, Titania ran after the others. Almost as soon as she had touched the ground floor, another loud BOOM rang out. The door flew across the room, and the merry laughter of the Victorians could be heard.
The distance between the balcony and the airship was much too long. Gunfire roared and a rain of bullets struck the ground. Titania tried her best to be too hard to hit, but it wasn't long until a bullet tore through her arm. Running on pure adrenaline, she only groaned and moved on, quickly catching up to the pirates.
Regarding Kalen and Silver, well...with one carrying the other, they could only move so fast.
The door in the airship was already open, welcoming any who would manage to make it inside.
Perhaps no one would pilot it that day after all.
Pride raised one arm up to block the baseball bat swung at him with the power of a Coryphaen prince.
CLANG
The bat crumpled.
Pride's body wasn't left with a single mark.
"How pathetic of you...Prince."
He thrust his hand forward with the power of hundreds of trains at once, all rushing to send these metal fingers straight through the enemy's body in one fatal second.
As powerful as the prince was, he was only flesh.
He was inferior.
He. Was. Weak.
