I'm really feeling sorry for Bert and Rein, it seems they honestly want to do the right thing but are in a really tough situation. I wonder what they know? Most likely something dealing with the titans inside the walls, maybe.
Anyway, that last page was awesome. Finally, time for revenge? I wonder how mikasa and eren will react?

I finally caught up with this series. I didn't like the first few chapters, but it grep up on me eventually. I also watched a few episodes of the anime, it had pretty nice production vallues. Anyways I got some theories I want to share. I'll spoiler it just in case, because it spoils a lot of stuff up until the latest chapters. Also warning that it's quite long and mostly me just rambling. I think that all the titans were human at some point and were transformed in to ones by something. It was mentioned that before the Titans appeared humans fought amongst themselves so I think the titans were originally meant to be some sort of super weapons but things went wrong and they became feral and shit hit the fan.
Also as far as the people transforming in to Titans go there are two clearly types. Titans that have skin and pointy ears, and also seem to be more like the normal titans as they don't seem to have special powers, this group includes Eren and Ymir.
Then there's the second group and it's members lack skin, have normal looking ears and have super powers (such as hardening skin or producing hot steam). They also seem to have some sort of warrior theme going on with them and all of them originate from the same village. This group includes Reiner, Annie and Bertholdt.
Then there's the Ape Titan, which seems to be somewhere between the other two groups, though more with the first group as it clearly has skin and as well as pointy ears, but it also has some special abilities as it apparently can turn people in to titans. Why I think so? Because in Connie's hometown the people had dissapeared without any blood being shed and the the one titan there looked like Connie's mother. Also the Ape Titan turning people in to titans was the only logical way for the titans to appear there without the wall being broken, unless they flew or dug their way there or something.
Anyways back to the different types of Titan-shifters I think the first group, along with the Ape Titan are much older than the second group, probably from around the time the Titans first appeared or soon afterwards. Ymir confirmed that she has been a titan for at least 60 years and that they won't age as Titans, so considering that she is in her late teens she should be at least about 76 years old. There was also the can of food they found at that castle where Ymir could read the label, while Reiner couldn't. I think that language was used before the appearance of the titans and thus Ymir could read it. Reiner (and possibly others) can't as that language has died at the present storyline. The Ape Titan also possibly spoke in foreign language when it tried to talk to Mike and wondered if he couldn't understand him. Though that could also just be that Mike was too scared to respond. The Ape also seemed like it hadn't seen the 3D maneuvering gear before, which would mean it's quite old as well as that it's human form isn't anyone that has been introduced yet as they must have lived outside the walls. Eren still hasn't showed anything that indicates of him being old, but I think he first turned in to a titan as a baby and then lived so for long time and eventually turned back in to human and then eventually turned back in to a human and was adopted by his father (who obviously is doing something very shady and probably behind a lot in this series).
The second group of titans are newer are because they seem more advanced, with all of their super powers, which would make sense that their transofrmations have been developed later, like a newer version of the titans. All 3 of this group also originate from the same village and work together towards a common goal so that the developement of this transformation has happened there. Also Reiner couldn't read what was written on the can I mentioned earlier which means that he doesn't understand the old language, which would mean he is younger than Ymir. Later on Reiner does state that it was pretty much the same for them as well when Ymir says she didn't age as titan so the people in this group are older than they appear, but I think much younger than the ones in the first group.
And I guess that's about all. This ended up being way longer than I expected.

Isayama has announced that he wants to end the series within 20 volumes. Read more about it here: www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2013-09-25/attack-on-titan-creator-aims-to-end-manga-in-20-volumesI'm incredibly excited. This author has broken standards before in anime: great female characters, unconventional art, unique story and he's doing it again. At this point, I expected about 50 more chapters, but it looks like we'll get 30 with this rate. I'm so excited this isn't going to turn into Naruto or Bleach, with plot holes and crappy developments to stretch the story. Anyway, what do you guys think?

Oh wow, just 20 volumes? That is great that he's not falling into the pressure of keeping a good series going just for the cash, like Naruto.

so only 9 more volumes till the end then. How many chapters are in a volume?
Will suck to see it end but at the same time I'm really glad to hear it won't be dragged out cause all the mysteries in this series are driving me nuts.

Okay guys, I had the weirdest dream last night about Shingeki no Kyojin.
Basically, there is a way to calm down the Titans from eating you. The way to do this is to shout a safe word over and over (though I can't remember what the word was), and the more you yell it, the slower the titans will move until they stop.
Then a very strange, bulbous titan with puffy lips will show up, around the 5 meter class I think. She'll put a hand on you and force you to get on your hands and knees and will tell you that you're a pet now.
So the Titans won't attack you as long as you're on your hands and knees. It's not really a way to stop the Titans, but a way to prolong your life.
But yeah, crazy dreams.

Holy crap that was an awesome chapter. So yeah, Eren can control Titans! I think it seems like the big ape guy can control them as well! This is getting really interesting.
And great fight scenes as well. This was an awesome chapter.

This chapter has all of my feelings. Whelp, there go Hannes. I think it was a fitting end to the character but I am a bit sad. No more Hannes drunk jokes for me.
I've seen people on other discussion boards call this "Mikasa's love confession." This notion was probably inspired by the way the Anime handles Eren and Mikasa's relationship. I see it as nothing more than Mikasa thanking Eren for the time they spent together in the face of death.
As for Eren commanding the Titans... WOW. I didn't see it coming. In fact, I don't think anyone did. This definitely changes things and answers a crap ton of questions. It makes perfect sense why people are after Eren now. I'm wondering now if this is a natural ability or an artificial one.
Anyway, another fantastic chapter. I can't wait for next month.

white-screen.jp/?p=32621www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2013-12-07/attack-on-titan-creator-considers-changing-endingSo it looks like Hajime might change his original ending to Titan due to how popular it has become and his desire not to disappoint all its new fans. All I Know is that I HATE bad ends. I primarily avoid seinen stuff and stick to shonen because Shone 99 times outta 100 has a good, happy, positive ending. I won't be reading this any farther until it's finished and I know for sure what ending we get. If he does keep his original endinga nd everyone dies and Titans kill humanity then wtf was the point in the series. We literally follow these characters for no reason, the manga would end where its tarted with nothing being accomplished and all the characters who's journey we've followed and we've grown attached to are mercilessly slaughtered. no thanks. If your changing the ending then please make sure you at least give the rest of humanity its freedom and the scouting legion at the very least take all the titans with them to the grave.

Changing something due to fans is pretty much the worst thing an author can do. So AoT will start sucking ass soon.
