I still think Shonen Jump made a mistake when they stopped printing magazines. Buying the magazine, actually having a physical copy of the manga, was the only good thing about american Shonen Jump. If its all online, then I don't really feel like I own any of it. I'll just read fan scanlations rather than Shonen Jump online.

yeah they just released BARRAGE (sensei no bulge) volume 1 online but its useless to me since i'm not americana nd there's no release schedule for any manga on the viz website after october. so wether they release in print or not i dont know.
i donts ee why they can take all the manga from sja in september and put it into a monthly print book to be released in october.
digital is no good to those outside america like myself.

Digital isn't that great in america either when fan scanlations come out faster than official ones.
That's why the only thing SJ had going for it was the physical magazine.

Yeah, that's what I mean. SJ can't produce online scans faster than fan scans. They should just stay with physical magazines. I mean, it wasn't just the manga I enjoyed, all the different articles and extras that came with the magazine were interesting. We don't get any of that now.

After all I got the idea for Kusu reading an article about manga sound effects in Shonen Jump. I'm saddened that I can no longer subscribe to a physical magazine. I would pay for Shonen Jump Alpha if they even released the chapters a few days after release. A two week delay is terrible, especially considering they have the means to make sure they got it right. It's also pathetic when they get things wrong, like switching character dialogue and the such. Poor business ethics if you ask me.

Apparently, there have been talks of releasing the chapters on the same day as the Japanese release starting as early as 2013. Of course, this isn't set in stone yet, but I, for one, would love to see this happen. Like Hito said, I am in no way a fan of online purchases, but if I can get high quality translations at the same time as the Japanese versions, I'd be glad to pay for it.
EDIT: also, Vinland Saga's getting published. This is the best thing.
