The tree's size was exactly what Elvia was looking for, but it was also the biggest challenge. Unlike her more conventional weapons, it had no real handle, and it would have been impossible for her to just use it normally with just one hand. So, instead, she hoisted it up (decreasing its weight so that it would be feasible for her in the process) and balanced it on her shoulder, carrying its full weight with her arms and back. It wasn't the best position, but it was not, by any means, unworkable.
"No. I crush!"
Leaning into the attack with her right foot, Elvia swung the tree at Hilda's head, as if it were a baseball bat. The giantess would find that the tree had about the same weight and density as the hammer, as if the Princess's weapon had somehow expanded to giant size, without getting any heavier.

Once Elvia lifted the hammer, Hilda was able to lift her arm and took the chance to look at the hammer she'd grabbed for. When it seemed he had what she'd gone after, she clamored to reach her hands and knees and was about that position when the princess attacked.
"Not to insult! I talk good enou- D'OOOYYYYYY~!"
Since she had been facing the ground as she was making to stand up, the heavy trunk struck the crown of her head, creating a resounding hollow *THOK* sound that would probably be easy to hear for most everyone nearby. The impact compressed her head into her shoulders and sent her sliding a little ways back across the sand, before she fwumped back in a dazed mess. Barely holding herself up in a seated position with her arms behind her to support her against the ground, her whole form teetered as he head wobbled on her shoulders. Her eyes lost any definition giving way to swirling spirals, and appropriately giant-sized birds circled her head. "Gruuuuuhhh... no more yams..." she groaned, as a giant tongue lolled from her mouth.

Elvia had already held up the tree, poised for another attack on her opponent, but stopped momentarily when it seemed like Hilda was, at the moment, stunned. It was like the blow had been as much of a shock to the princess as it had been to the giantess, and clearly she wasn't expecting a fight, that she had been on the losing end of for what felt like ages, suddenly reversed. Another warrior might have been sure to take full advantage of this, and follow up the initial strike immediately, but Elvia waited. After the humiliating display from before, this was, to her, nothing but a chance to reclaim her pride as a fighter.
With a smug expression on her face, Elvia turned away from her opponent, and faced the crowd of onlookers. Taking two steps to her audience, the Princess raised the tree in the air like it were a trophy, and let out a loud, boastful yell, a gesture that was repeated by all of the knights and soldiers in attendance, turning the beach into a chorus of harsh, warlike bravado. To the Princess, who relished in this Galatean variety of fervor, this was her as her purest self. After basking in the glory and love of her subjects for a few precious moments, Elvia would then turn back to Hilda, if the giantess had not recovered by then, and would try to hit her again.
The people of Galatae who were in attendance were swept away by Elvia's charisma, and kept on cheering. The only silent figures among the crowd were a few of the older, more experienced knights in attendance, and Alaric and Oskar. Claudia, meanwhile, was as still and stoic as ever, but the two men closest to her, and only they, could hear the traces of quiet, bitter mumbling from the queen, as if she could barely restrain her own furious feelings.

In the time it took for Elvia to celebrate her attack, Hilda regained some sense and was greeted by the sight of the princess facing the crowd. She didn't think much, and rubbing her head with one hand, with the other she leaned forward and attempted to press down on the tree. She could have tried to grab the princess again or steal the tree form her or something. Instead though, she figured whether or not the weight of the tree could change, the fact remained that she was still stronger than Elvia. Thus, the giantess hoped to be able to push the tree down to the sand, possibly trapping the princess underneath.
If not, that was fine too, but by holding the tree down she would have effectively disarmed Eliva since she also had her signature weapon taken away.

With a weapon as big as hers, and her opponent seemingly unable to fight anymore, Elvia was simply unprepared for Hilda's retaliation. Having finally attained what she thought was an advantage, the Princess should have expected the tree to be used against her, but the possibility never crossed her mind. As such, she had no defense, and even if she had come prepared with something, it might not have done her much good. Indeed, when Hilda pressed down, no matter what Elvia might have done, she couldn't overcome the natural strength and weight of a giant, and, as such, was helplessly pinned down under the tree that she, until a few moments ago, had been using as her weapon.

It seemed her plan had worked, but as always she had no intention of just killing the princess. She figured the act of disarming her though must have counted for something. The next obvious course of action was to get the tree away from her, but she had to think for a second as to what might happen. If she just picked it up, Elvia could hold onto the tree from underneath and be lifted up by it. Instead, she decided to simply roll the tree off of her before picking it up, so that the small opponent wouldn't be able to just hold on without a risk to her own safety. Of course she could jump up and try to run after it to grab it, but Hilda tried to be quick about it.
"What now? No weapon."
